Said this in another post - but holy hell, is this under 30" arms overblown. He is a QUARTER INCH under 30. He's barely over a half inch less than Dane Jackson. You don't pass on a guy who hasn't given up a TD in two years and plays as well as he has because he's a quarter inch under the threshold.

Daxton Hill is a Safety, that sometimes plays Nickel. He doesn't play outside. Could he? Maybe. But it's a projection. We don't need a Safety or a Nickel. Those starting positions are covered. Passing on a stud outside Corner because a quarter inch under 30 for a guy who doesn't play the position? Gotta question your logic there.

Dax Hill has all the athletic traits to be a very good corner. With McD coaching him I believe he could be a top 10 CB in the league as an outside corner.

I'm opposed to trading up for anyone in this draft.  We need a ton of depth - LB, CB, WR, RB, OG, OT

Depth is for the later rounds. They need high end talent on the Oline and at CB. They need studs not more average players.

Considering the state of OL play in the league, and OL play on the Bills, I'd settle for a slightly above average guard who demonstrates consistency at that level of play.

But I agree completely that it's time, and past time, for a serious draft investment at IOL

Yes, the OL has been an issue for too long now. Want at least one IOL and one tackle selected in the draft. Give Josh more time to throw and protect the 260 million investment.

Let’s hope so as this is the only glaring roster hole.

Beane claims to not want to go into the draft with any major holes. Either him and McD are extremely confident in Dane and that Tre won’t miss much time, or we see a vet CB signing. I’m hoping for the latter.

Agree with quality of quantity but with the exception of CB. P and a KR none of these rookies will probably crack a starter role.

They will be in the mix later in the season and next year.  It's about filing the pipeline.

Looking at the depth chart the only real holes are WR4, backup IOL, number 3 TE, CB, and P. Could always use edge rushers and more DBs, but starters wise I agree with you. WR4 could end up being WR2 next year, and TE3 could be TE2 or even 1 if they can’t keep Knox, and backup IOL will replace Saffold so even though they aren’t starters, they’re going to be important pieces to have for the future. I doubt Tre is ready week 1 and I don’t want them to rush him back if they can get by with Dane + early draft pick on the outside.

Reading through this thread and realizing that this was Beane's plan all along, I have to say he is probably the best financial GM in the league. His drafts and overall talent evaluation haven't been stellar. But he knows better than anyone how to structure contracts and manipulate the salary cap to win now without sacrificing the future. He uses rules that most of us didn't even know existed to his advantage. All of us are panicking about the interior OL, meanwhile Beane is sitting back waiting patiently to lock up a young OG with upside for 4 years with a more than reasonable AAV. His moves don't always work out but they always make a lot of sense, which is a quality that has been lacking at OBD for the past 20+ years.

He really needs to nail this draft. They might only have 4 or 5 guys drafted who make the final 53 so they need to make them count. Quality over quantity should be his approach to the draft this year, as they really don’t have any major holes, assuming he adds at least 1 corner before the draft, which I am expecting.

What if the top 5 corners are all gone? Along with the top 5 receivers? That would mean a very good player slipped to the Bills and I don’t think it will work out that way, but what if BPA at that point is a defensive end? Or safety? We will see how true Beane sticks to his board, still think he brings in a vet cb. At this point Bradberry wouldn’t surprise me with the way this off season has been going.

Dont be shocked to see a linebacker drafted this year.  They are going to have to make a decision between Edmunds and Oliver and they probably go Oliver.

As they should. If Edmunds was a better blitzer or made more splash plays I’d think about it, but he doesn’t do much of anything at a high level. He’s a good starter, but I think Oliver takes his play to a new level this season. Who knows, maybe Edmunds elevates his play in his contract year, that would be nice too.

I think Williams is decent in pass pro.

Are you saying they shouldn't start Spencer Brown at RT this year? Why are you only saying this now, I haven't seen a single person say that the entire offseason. Where ya been?

I’m saying if the plan is to keep the status quo on the right side of the line, they’re going to struggle. Williams is going to be 30 this season and has already looked to be in the decline physically. Brown should get the chance to start but they’re going to need to have competition or at least a competent backup if he struggles again. He got worked in pass pro so many times last year, he’s a good run blocker, but leaves a lot to be desired from a pass pro standpoint.

They also had Feliciano and Ford starting games and no Kromer.

If they were to add Williams at RG what's the issue with the OL?

Williams sucks, Brown wasn’t very good last year. Those two next to each other just wasn’t good. If you think the OL is in a good place right now then I don’t know what to tell you.

I don't think the Bills need a dominant offensive line. What so they can run the ball and take the ball out of Josh's hands? Nah. Running a lot is for losers.

Just be decent in pass pro and you're good. If Doc is correct and the fallback is Williams then he fits that thinking. Kromer will help too, you've ignored that. The OL seems fine to me. Upgrade it for what purpose exactly?

I feel the same about corner. Early in their tenure Derm and Frazier were forced to start an in-season FA called Ryan Lewis at CB and you couldn't tell the difference. The Bills have Tre White and Dane Jackson. They're mostly good. They need a depth piece who can maybe start early in the year if Tre isn't quite ready. Draft one in the 3rd or 4th and be done with it.

There's a lot of concern going around over these perceived needs and yes they need to add decent players but these aren't spots where they need all-pros.

Ummm Josh was the most pressured QB in the NFL last season, so they weren’t even decent in pass protection. What about the oline seems fine to you?

When i first heard that Trevon wanted to play with his brother, I assumed he wanted Buffalo to trade for him. Why ask your brother to take a step down from a contender, when he could pull you up to the odds on favorite?

I was pissed the Bills didn’t trade up for Trevon…and instead got stuck with Epenesa.

This game is about passing and stopping the pass. This isn’t 1985.

Yeah, there are running backs that will be there in the 3rd or 4th that would put fear in defenses as well, Zamir White, James Cook, Pierce Strong.
