A REAL mayorial candidate for Buffalo!
The Senator replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Really? Please name two. And I mean projects that were actually Byron Brown initiatives - not legacy projects started or at least conceived under the Masiello administration. Byron Brown is a clown - a complete joke whose entire legislative legacy in the NYS Senate consist of 3 bills, 2 of which were passed into law. The sum magnitude of this massive, impressive body of legislation? Brown's proposed bills were to change the names of 3 Buffalo streets, and, of course, install new signs. He runs one off the most 'tight-lipped', sterile, closed-door, administrations in the history of Buffalo - no one gets by his henchman Steve Casey and the recently installed security cameras outside the mayoral offices (to alert them to approaching reporters and TV news teams) - it's a virtual 'palace guard'. Brown's only concern now is not with the future of Buffalo, but to get re-elected and avoid scandal long enough to run for Louise Slaughter's congressional seat when she retires in two years. -
A REAL mayorial candidate for Buffalo!
The Senator replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Doubt seriously that Henry Ford ever had any intention of placing his original assembly line in Buffalo, or anywhere outside of Detroit for that matter. However, he did subsequently build two assembly plants here - one on Main & Rodney, replacing it with a lakefront plant on Fuhman Boulevard... Ford Motor Co. - Buffalo, NY Also, at that time, Buffalo already had a fairly thriving automobile manufacturing base - both Pierce Arrow Motor Car Company and Thomas Motor Company were already headquartered here in The BuffTown... Historical Games of the Week for 2009
The Senator replied to KRC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was going to suggest the 9/23/60 Bills-Patriots* game for week 1, but I see you covered that one last season. How 'bout the 10/1/89 match-up of Levy vs. Berry/Kelly vs. Flutie, etc.... link GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -

May I add just one word? Let's think back for a moment to the days when the Bills were NFL GODS, the NE* Patriettes* were a laughing-stock, and all those ersatz 'fans' in NE* were still NY Giants fans... This will make everyone feel much better... Link - Classic Bills vs. Patriots Poor Raymond Berry - the Bills offensive machine was firing on all cylinders that day, as usual. Poor little Doug Flutie - he was wearing Bruce Smith all afternoon. Poor NE* - GOD, did they* ever suck for soooo long. Almost lost their* franchise* twice - once to St. Louis, then to Hartford. I think I remember mention of a possible move to Memphis back then as well. Now remember, no matter what tainted successes* the Cheatriettes* have been able to steal and cheat their way to "achieving"*, all things must pass - the Cheatriettes* will miss the playoffs again this season - 2nd consecutive year - on their* way back to obscurity, and all those freakin' NE* queers...er...uh...fans* that jumped on the bandwagon in 2001 will quickly and quietly fade back into oblivion. Meanwhile, our BuffTown Bills are quietly, methodically, purposefully building a roster that will serve the franchise well for years to come, on their way back to total NFL dominance... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!

Farewell to Our Favorite (and Not-So-Favorite) TV Series
The Senator replied to BillsWatch's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I thought Boston Legal was one of the best shows on TV - loved the way David Kelly would take shots at the networks, particularly ABC, and the tongue-in-cheek gimmicks and dialogue he'd use to poke fun... "In recent episodes a cell phone's ring tone was the theme from "The Practice" and dialogue referenced Shatner's Priceline commercials." Then there was the episode where Carl Sack (John Laroquette) sued the networks for bad programming... "We should be able to turn on our damn televisions and see something other than reality shows aimed at fourth graders, game shows aimed at those slightly smarter than fifth graders and scripted shows with dimwitted, sex-crazed twenty-somethings running around in suits or doctors’ scrubs! Old people, the ones with intelligence, don’t want to watch that crap! We’re fed up! The networks might think we’re dead, but we’re not. We’re very much alive, with working brains! Give us something to watch, damn it!” link Great stuff, I think. -
