  1. Guess I won't be listening to any Bills games, unless I can find somehow tune in the opposing team's broadcast.
  2. He is hideous. I have maintained for well over a year now that not does Luck look (and sound) extremely dorky, but is not the dreamy QB everyone thinks he is either. Gimme OSU's Brandon Wheedon or Arizona's Nick Foles in the mid rounds, and I'll be thrilled that the Bills have a 'QB of the future' to groom behind Fitz. (Even though Fitz & Wheedon are about the same age!)
  3. Absolutely not. (We saw what happened when we tried a similar move with Drew Bledsoe at the end of HIS career.) Now making a move to sign Polian...that I could support .
  4. Not to worry - the Bills are positioning themselves for Matt Barkley in 2013 draft
  5. I haven't - I guess 3 out of the 5 mentioned have transitioned very successfully.
  6. Probably about the same percentage as those who fail, but I'm the wrong guy to ask - you need to ask Jim Harbaugh, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, etc., etc.
  7. I'm pretty sure Nix can outsmart SJ and his agent w/out breaking a sweat. Just slap the "non-exclusive" franchise tag on him - then the Bills just have to offer a 1-year deal equivavlent to the average of the top 5 WR salaries for the previous year. Johnson would be free to negotiate w/other teams, but the Bills can choose to match any offer - and will receive 2 first-round draft picks as compensation if they choose not to match. (Personally, I'd rather have the 2 first-round picks!)
  8. The Bills had their chance to hire greatness and passed on the opportunity - unfortunately for the Buffalo, the best head football coach in the country now will be working in Pullman, WA... "I asked athletic director Bill Moos to select the best head football coach in the country and I am convinced that he has done exactly that," WSU president Elson S. Floyd said in a statement. Link - Mike Leach agrees to coach Cougars
  9. I agree completely. And, conversely, let's see how Chan does next season with a (hopefully) healthy roster, a full compliment of OTAs and regular training camp/preseason (no NFLPA labor dispute/lockout), another year of development for the youngsters, some decent FA/trade acquisitions, and (again, hopefully) a fruitful 2012 draft. Personally, being a fan of both Leach and Gailey, I'd like to see both of 'em take their respective teams to a bowl game next season GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! "I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey
  10. Yes. Although technically the contract has not yet been signed, Leach is both a lawyer and a principled man - so he'll certainly honor the deal. Should the Bills continue to founder, however, Leach does have a buy-out that Ralph could certainly afford... 10 incentives sweeten Mike Leach's agreement with WSU
  11. If the choice is Chan or Wannstache, I'd prefer... Mike Leach
  12. Strangely, just over a year ago, one incredibly prescient TSW poster made an absolutely brilliant suggestion - a suggestion that, as usual, was ignored by the Bills front office... link The Eagles front office heeded the suggestion, and are glad they did.
  13. I've spent so much $ and endured the Route 1 nightmare thru *Norwood/Foxboro* to *Shaefer/Sullivan* and now Gillette* stadia more times than I care to remember - and, needless to say, have witnessed too many Bills disasters and experienced too many New* England* a-hole fans* to want to do it ever again! (Got pelted with beer bottles at Foxboro as I walked thru the lot wearing my Bills Flutie jersey, saw the 'just give it to him' non-catch, saw Wade Phillips pull his team off the field in protest - allowing NE to go for 2 unimpeded rather than a PAT - thus not only winning the game but covering the spread - just one Bills fiasco after another, year after year ad nauseum ) I will say this, however, about Gillette* Stadium and Cheatriette* Place - it is a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility...once you make it thru traffic, pay your $50 parking fee, make the endless hike from the parking lots thru the pedestrian tunnels under Route 1, and finally thru the gates and to your seats. Then you can enjoy a $30 pizza and wash it down with a $12 beer while watching the game from your $210 seat. Patriot* Place is nice...it's impressive...but really just a typical upscale, high-end shopping mall attached to the stadium complex - one thing they got over Buffalo... they DO have a Bass Pro! One unique feature you should watch for during the game - at half time, the Cheatriettes* just turn around and exit the field thru a door located right behind their* bench leading directly to their* locker room, while the visiting team has to march to the opposite end of the field, thru a series of tunnels, and finally to the visitors locker room - a fairly time-consuming parade that takes about 5 minutes each way, leaving just a few moments for half-time discussion/adjustments, etc. (I was amazed to hear a NE* fan I sat next to on the flight to Boston tell me that Belicheat* actually requested that design when the stadium was being built - actually thought he was pulling my leg until I saw it with my own eyes!) Anyway, enjoy the game, Promo - I predict a Happy New Year for Bills fans, as we sweep the Cheatriettes* allowing the Ravens to gain home field throughout the AFC playoffs... Buffalo Bills 41 New England Cheatriettes* 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 7 and 9 baby!!!!! P.S. Last Foxboro trip for me was 2010 - went fishing earlier that week off Newburyport and the bluefish, they were runnin'...
  14. The Bills never do what The Senator suggests - otherwise Graham Harrell would be wearing a Buffalo Bills uniform today (yes, OK, they did finally try to sign him away from the Packers - three years after I implored them to sign the kid as an UDFA) - as would Ryan Mallett, Michael Oher, Rob Gronkowski, Alex Henery, et al, and our Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator would be... Mike Leach That said - and knowing full well that, once again, these and countless other great suggestions from fairly astute TSW posters will fall on the deaf ears of One Bills Drive - here are The Senator's absolutely futile suggestions for rounds 1 thru 3 of the 2012 NFL draft... 1) Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama 2) Levy Adcock, OT, Oklahama State 3) Nick Foles, QB, Arizona That should get Buddy thru Thursday and Friday of the April draft. If he listens to me on any of these picks, I'll come back with some thoughts on Saturday's rounds 4-7 picks... GO BILLSSS!!!! 7 and 9 baby!!!!!
  15. I hope he's doing it on purpose - and, if he is, I love Stevie even more! I gave up on that sh_thole excuse for a radio station years ago, and can't understand why anyone would waste time listening. I'll laugh my ass off if Stevie continues to with those moronic asses every week
  16. So why isn't Josh Nesbitt our starting QB??? GO BILLSSS!!!! 7 and 9 baby!!!!
  17. Hmmmm....here's another interesting quote from Michael Lewis, the author of Moneyball - "It's as if - when he walks into a football program and grabs the quarterback - he sprinkles fairy-dust on him, because the quarterback becomes a different human being...this coach was taking rejects who weren't offered scholarships to the big schools, and using them to beat those big schools...if he ever gets hold of the sort of athletes they get at Texas or Oklahoma or USC, no one will stand a chance!" He was speaking, of course, about...
  18. If the Bills 'lose out' and USC's Matt Barkley is available to us in round 1, I'm pretty sure Nix would draft him - but that's looking less likely, and I'd rather win our last 3 games anyway.\\ I'm thinking Arizona's Nick Foles in round 4... Nick Foles signs with "super-agent" Dunn NFL Draft Scout - Nick Foles GO BILLSSS!!!! 8 and 8 baby!!!!!
  19. In your scenario, Astro - Upshaw is the 'no-brainer' choice. However, I fell strongly that the Bills may have a shot at Matt Barlkley unless... 1) He stays at USC for his senior season or 2) Bills Polian also realizes that Barkley will be a better NFL QB than Andy Luck, takes Barkley with the #1 overall pick. Too many unknown factors between now and April - I wish it was July 2012 already.
  20. Don't know about mom, but as for daughter Angela, she's very attractive...for a beautiful young girl...with a great body... Probably a better QB than Thigpen, too. (Git 'er done, Buddy!)
  21. Gotta wonder why Chan Gailey can't find coaches like this, but Mike Leach can... Mike Smith's name doesn't appear anywhere on the Jets' official roster, a list that includes 19 coaches on staff. He's not on the team's website. To most Jets fans, he doesn't exist. As a coaching intern, Smith beats the sun to work each day, doing "the grunt work," Rex Ryan says, electronically diagramming plays for the defensive game-plans, helping defensive coordinator Mike Pettine run meetings, logging up to 20 hours a day, pitching in any way he can. Smith, 30, gets a nominal paycheck every couple weeks. He lives rent-free in Pettine's townhouse near the team facility. He's also Maybin's de facto personal coach, spending countless hours helping the former Bills first-round pick find his way. "Without him, I'd probably be a fish without fins in the open sea," says Maybin, who is an NFL Comeback Player of the Year candidate with his team-high six sacks and four forced fumbles in nine games. "He understands me better than any of my coaches since I was in college. He's one of the biggest reasons I'm doing what I'm doing now." Link - Unknown intern Mike Smith helped revive Aaron Maybin's career Don't know why the Bills can't find seem to find any good coaches like Smith to help our pathetic defense - but I guess we should be glad he's leaving the Jets and headed to Pullman, Washington to join his old college coach at Wazzu... Link - Mike Leach Reportedly Hires Mike Smith As Linebackers Coach
  22. GO BILLSSS!!!! 8 and 8 baby!!!!!
  23. It would certainly present an interesting conundrum - the Bills could never lose, nor ever win. I look at it kinda like strapping a slice of toast - buttered side up - to the back of a cat, then dropping said cat from a ladder... (link)
  24. Ah yes, J2 - the more we lose, the better off we should be! My good man - just think of the unbeatable dynasty we could have around 2015, if only we would lose our next 51 straight games!
