  1. They target arm length and wingspan at the position. Groot and AJ were in the top 3 DE's in that category, both in the high 80 and 90th percentile in that category. It wasn't by some accident.

Kneeland is this year and they already hosted him for a visit in Buffalo. So as much as I would also hate this pick I don't think it's very far fetched. We have shown it's a position we will invest heavily in. We have need. We have shown interest in Kneeland and his profile is similar to two players we drafted prior. Don't shoot the messenger.

Ladd McConkey.  Aside from the speed, quickness,  and route running,  he's also very good after the catch.

I like McConkey a lot. He really stepped up when Bowers went down. I think he can do a lot of things for us.

Not the best example, but when Ted Washington came to Buffalo after 4 years in the league, he played lights out!

I think it’s as good as any. He played for 3 teams in 5 years. Didn’t start for the 49ers for several years. Eventually came to Buffalo after 5 years and turned into pro bowl player. He was a first round pick as well.

Lots of folks like Allen. No way he lasts till the fifth round, and he could easily go day 2.

I like Kendall Milton. He runs upright, which isn't the best, but he's a big, tough back. He'd be an excellent day 3 RB.

Yeah, i'm really big on Braelon Allen too. I think he's the perfect compliment Back to James Cook. But he's definitely not a Round 5-7 guy IMO. The problem with him is the area I see him going is between our 2nd Pick at 60 and our next pick. I have him as a Mid 3rd - Mid 4th Round Prospect. Small chance he's there at 128 and if he's there, i'd hope we'd take him. The good news is that he's one of only 3 RB's we met (that was reported, there could be more that we don't know about) at the Combine (the other two being Audric Estime and Frank Gore Jr.)

I pealed back on projection status for these guys. Makes sense if he is looking to go sooner. I know he was mocked past the 3rd round a few months ago but as far as current value I really have no idea. I'm a pretty big college football nut and he caught my eye. Most people thought he would be Taylor 2.0.  Lots of good backs in this class. I was hoping Ashton Jeanty would come out but he's staying with Boise another year. He's going to be a fun guy to track next year.

Wasn't a coincidence that Buffalo drafted Epenesa and Rousseau. They covet long arms in that position and have a history of drafting for that trait. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Kneeland ends up being a pick.

  5. Allen is the guy I  like. In 2022 and 2023 Allen was considered the centerpiece of Wisconsin's offense. He was heralded as the next Wisconsin stud running back. Bigger more powerful runner but plenty of athleticism. When the Badgers switched to the spread this year it took them awhile to get the offense going. So a little more underrated than what we likely would have seen if they didn't go thru such a huge offensive transition.

Schrader is also hard not to like. Strikes me a process guy thru his bones. He was durable for Mizzo. Great pass catcher as well. I watched his entire performance vs the Volunteers and he stole the show. Impressive what he was able to do against the SEC.

  6. The last 5 super bowls had the following #1 receiving options. In addition to that in most cases these teams had another option that was pretty damn good as well.

2023: Travis Kelse vs Brandon Aiyuk

2022: Travis Kelse vs AJ Brown

2021: Cooper Kupp vs Ja'Marr Chase

2020: Mike Evans vs Travis Kelse

2019: Travis Kelse vs George Kittle

Just because New England was able to do it a certain way doesn't make it a model for everybody else. Even in the 5 years since the last New England Super Bowl the game has changed even more. Other examples you give such as Megatron (horrific team) Moss (major reason for undefeated season), Julio Jones (should have won the Super Bowl) don't add up to don't focus on WR.

If anything this thread tells me the Super Bowl has multiple paths for different teams. Currently we don't have a dominating unit. That could change with some positive play but that's where it stands right now. We have Allen and a lot of pieces that could come together.  With that we don't have a pass catcher on our roster who has ever achieved a 1000 yard season in his career. So yes, as much as you can argue WR isn't an essential piece to the equation for many teams it is for us right now. Currently our most essential piece has no weapons and that statement would also be true for the future years unless we see Kinkaid or Shakir really take off. Very possible, but you land your insurance piece in the draft and thats how you become one of the teams above with your main pass catcher being a star with secondary options being guys like Deboo Samuel, Tyreek Hill, Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin, DeVonta Smith, etc

  7. I have been a fan since 1990 and that was the most impactful punt return for a touchdown I remember Buffalo ever having. McGee had some great ones, but nothing close to this level of importance. Then he also had a 25 yard catch on 3rd and 6 on our go ahead drive at the end of the KC regular season game. His total production was completely lacking but those two plays ended up being massive as far as our playoff chances and divisional title aspirations. At that rate of pay it's a great deal. I'm also of the opinion that based on those plays he actually came closer to living up to his contract than most here give him credit for. Clearly he didn't become who we wanted. But we likely don't end up in the position we did without a few plays he did end up making for us. I have to think he can be utilized better. We will see.

    1) In due course, pot will be legal everywhere in America, as it should be, though backward states like Texas may be the last to adapt.

    2) If we are going to start caring about pot and enforcing anti-pot policies among ALL NFL PLAYERS, there will not be anyone left to play football.

Abandoning an accident scene with injured people who were receiving medical care is a serious offense.

The pot thing is not worth discussing.

It's absolutely a criticism of Diggs when you say he was worse than a guy who was rarely at the top of the league against his contemporaries. No doubt the game is played differently than it is today, but why did he only crack top 5 receiving numbers 4 times in 16 years? Tim Brown had no trouble despite far lesser QB play.

Why are you arguing about things that are facts?

Andree reed played in 21 playoff games with 85 total receptions and 9 TDs averaging 58.5 YPG. Diggs meanwhile has 14 playoff games with 69 total receptions, 4 TDs and 64.9 YPG. This board is ridiculing Diggs for disappearing in playoff games, leaving no mention of Reed doing the same. In 3 playoff games from 95 to 96 Reed had a combined 16 targets for 5 receptions for 52 total yards. Andre Reed failed to score a touchdown in his final 11 straight playoff games. 11 straight games.

There is no reality in which Andre Reed was a better Buffalo Bills receiver than Andre Reed. He would have broken every record reed set in probably 60% of the games if he were still here. Rose tinted glasses from the softening of history through the passage of time is a wild thing.

This is all three players from the age of 27-30, namely the years Diggs played for the Bills.

    image.png.bc5ce9776bc1aa4141f3eefaf949889c.png

Lets pretend Reeds additional 9,015 Yards and 60 TD's or Moulds 5,351 Yards and 23 TD's didn't also happen as a Bill. Along with Moulds 240 yard record setting playoff performance. Lets just go off the exact window of time all three played here.  You don't think Reed is going to catch Diggs pretty easily with 174 more targets? You don't think Moulds isn't producing those same stats with a starting level QB? Let alone Josh Allen?

This is one of your worst takes and that's saying something.

he was in a tremendous situation at Oklahoma and couldn't get it done

He obviously improved and was a top HS QB so has a great arm

But OU instantly get better when they went to the true freshman Caleb Williams who looked like a #1 overall pick

Rattler was supposed to be that guy but took a while to develop

He has the tools of a starter but he's missing some stuff

4th round but that's a good QB in that round

Beat me to it. Talented guy, looks like one of the tope recruits who just never could put it all together. I don't see him doing so when it gets that much more difficult.

Elite catcher of the football. Would not mind him at all.

  11. Here I stand, watching the Chiefs celebrate, alone on the field, the spotlight is on me. My teammates, my friends, my Brothers have gone inside, together. Instead of being with my teammates I stand here, alone on the field, unaware that my actions do not display leadership. My actions shift attention to me, which is something I need. Something I will always need.

"I hate talking about old stuff … but up to me wanting to go to another place, I was a good teammate. It wasn’t until I wanted to do something else is when I became a bad teammate. So as far as when things are going good, it’s all good until it’s not good."

Was Diggs not the best teammate at the end again? How could that come as a surprise to anybody.

He is a microcosm of why we can't get past the divisional round.  When the going gets tough Diggs gets going.

Uh oh...Diggs part II...let's see if the National Media turn this into the blazing 5 alarm fire like they did the  Diggs situation...

Diggs was an a-hole in so many situations it would be bordering on irrational to not call him an a-hole
