Stanley visits the U.S Marines Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Glen Wesley and his wife, Barb, have often passed by Jacksonville, N.C., home of the U.S. Marines' Camp Lejeune, when they take their three children to the beach. Camp Lejeune is the East Coast base for Marines. Wesley knew that many Marines injured in battle rehabilitate at the base and he is aware of the debt that we all owe to these valiant soldiers. As a member of the Stanley Cup-winning Hurricanes, Wesley was entitled to one day with the Stanley Cup and he decided to spend part of that day with members of Wounded Warrior Barracks at Camp Lejeune. Wesley hoped it would help pay respect and raise the spirits of the wounded Marines and that it did. - Interesting no word on Daniel Briere arbitration hearing. It was supposed to be announced by noon today. Islander Mike York's case was after Brieres but decision was announced today with player getting 2.85 million. Teams have 48 hours to agree or walk away from this decision , if team decides to walk away the player is a immediate free agent. - also Mark Cuban's bid to purchase the Pittsburgh Penguins has been rejected Cuban Bid

Doug Flutie Former CFL star Doug Flutie was poised to return to the Toronto Argonauts last week before having a change of heart. A league source requesting anonymity told Canadian Press Saturday night that Flutie, six times the CFL's outstanding player, had a plane ticket for Toronto and was scheduled to practise with the Argos last Sunday before talks between himself and the Argos broke down. The source added that Doug Flutie had reservations about being able to withstand the punishment as a player despite being 43 years old. He spent a total of 21 seasons in professional football with the USFL, NFL and CFL. Flutie's near-return to the Argos, who he led to consecutive Grey Cups in 1996 and '97 before signing with the NFL's Buffalo Bills, was the featured item on CBC's pre-game show Saturday night. But talk of Flutie's potential return to Toronto is certainly likely to heat up once again with the devastating injury to Argos starter Spergon Wynn in Saturday's game versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

[Sabres] Tallinder Signed to Multi-Year Deal
millbank replied to Alaska Darin's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In Havlet's case he had previously filed for arbitration, before agreeing to this offer. Havlet has 235 points in 298 games, while Briere has 241 points in 290 games. The arbitor will use these sort of yardsticks for his decision. The Sabres do have the obtion to walk away from the decision is they do not like it, while Briere is bound to it. -
[Sabres] Tallinder Signed to Multi-Year Deal
millbank replied to Alaska Darin's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That is likely a good guess. Chicago Blackhawks recently reached a three-year, $18 million deal with forward Martin Havlat, who has offensive numbers nearly identical to Briere. Using this as a yardstick 5.5 might be end result. -

Zidane has been banned for three matches for head-butting Italy's Marco Materazzi in the World Cup final. A FIFA disciplinary committee issued the sanctions after meeting with the former French international during a hearing in Zurich, Switzerland on Thursday. Materazzi was also suspended for two international matches and fined almost $4,000 US for "repeatedly provoking Zidane" during the final earlier this month. Since he has retired from international competition, Zidane, who was also fined almost $6,000 US, has agreed to do three days of community service work with children and youngsters as part of FIFA's humanitarian activities. Wang is going to be on with Mike and Mad dog at 6:00. What is being said so far is that Smith did not agree with the management structure as set up where , Smith , Nolan, Trottier, La Fontaine, all reported to Wang and made decisions as a group with Wang making final call. Snow signed a contract last year for three years at $750,00 @. The rule is when a player signs a contract over the age of 35 it will count against the teams cap. So Snow who is going to be the teams General Manager his player salary will count against the cap.

Islanders to hire " Garth Snow" as General Manager , got to be something in the water..... , Snow was under contract to be backup goalie. Snow job

Lets not be so quick to put the boots to Ted Nolan. Mike Milbury is also still in the mix here, while he was supposed to be moved upstairs, its very possible that Milbury was still trying infuence team in Smith's territory. It true that when hired , Nolan had already been hired and Smith made it a point to stress this. It tells you others have their fingers in the mix. It was not a good move for Islanders to hire Nolan before Smith. But this an error of upper management and more directly the owner. I think you are going to find this was Milbury sticking his nose into Smith job. For Smith it was a question rather you keep the hell out or I am the hell out of here. He is the hell out of there. This is not on Nolan..... imo

I have colored answer if others do not wish to see it this is probably the most confusing room in the game coz it's BIG! Anyway your goal here is to open all the colored wheeled rooms (blue, green, red) and then reach the tele-transporter. Go to the room to the left and examine the painting with the wheel to have the blue wheel. Realize there's a letter on the table, read it and get freaked out j/k. Go back to the previous room and put the blue wheel in the left most pipe, go up the elevator and get the green wheel from the first drawer of the cabinet in the room to the right. Go down, put the green wheel on the right most pipe. Back to the room where you got the green wheel, and go down the hole on the right. After you are in the room with the mailbox, go up a hole thru the ladder. Now you will see a room with two holes and space (yeah right). First check the right drawer to get a pen, then go down to the right hole. Get the piece of paper on the desk. Now go back to the very first room where you found the letter to Dr. Druid, put the paper on top of the letter, use the pen to trace it. Mail the letter to where you saw the mail box. Wait a couple of seconds and check the in-box, you should get a red wheel. Go back to the room where you connected the blue and green wheels, connect the red wheel. Now go into the red room (the room right to where you got the thin paper), go up the hole and find a floppy disk in the locker of the new room. Go into the next room to your right, you should see a tele-transporter. Put the floppy in the floppy drive on the upper right corner. Realize when you click on the three smaller colored wheels, the big wheel on the tele-transporter will change color. Your goal is to get it to be grey. Here's how you do it. Click on the small wheels in this order: red, green, (change to cyan) blue, green (change to purple), blue, red (change to grey) Now go check the panel inside of the tele-transporter. It said it's "waiting for user input". Well, you must WALK IN in order to ride ride it right? So WALK INTO the tele-transporter You will see a pair of walking feet.

You are doing well, this game just had a new level added so there are now 13 levels. You will notice when you get finished with level 13 a page will tell of level 14 coming soon.

This game is really difficult. It will take some time to complete. Even one level has some Frank Sinatra songs Mystery of Time and Space

We were sitting on the porch having strawberries and ice cream, listening to the Frogs croaking , the Cows Mooing, and the crickets chirping , its nice to do that on a summer night. And I wish folks would settle down and not cut up each other , there really is no point in doing that.

"Hooray, the World Cup is over" thread...
millbank replied to eball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not alls lost, just 243 days and 13 hours until The World Cup of Cricket 2007. Still tickets available. The Aussies will be tough to beat, but Sri Lanka and Bangladesh likely are very able sides. The outrage though, while there is a team Canada, there is no team U.S.A , thats bound to effect the ratings. World Cup of Cricket
