I think many understand what the Bills mean to the area. But the rest of the NFL loving country really does not care. The truth is the economics of football + the economics of Buffalo have made it a minor miracle that the Bills have stayed in Buffalo for as long. Truth is NFL owners want big markets and dislike the Buffalo market because TV is where the BIG money is. Not in attendence.... Why do they always want a team in LA? They dont care if NO ONE GOES.. The NFL wants the LA audience.... Simple math of each home game tell you the story. 80,000 x 100 bucks each fan spends = 8 million bucks 8 million x 8-10 games = 80 million at best. That does not even cover the salaries of the players.... Suite money does... TV money does..... Corp sponsorships do.... All things Buffalo have limited access to... So you are correct.. The sad fact is the outlook for the Bills in Buffalo is not great. Like I said before 1 game vs all 8 is a blessing......

Miami twice, Jets twice..... They play in the weakest division in football. NFC West- Same as us. AFC West- Same as us. Only reason we dont have a easier schedule is we face the 16-0 Pats twice. The Pats dont have themelves on the schedule or we would have an easier schedule than them.

Better to give up 1 than to give up all 8..... Buffalo is lucky to have a team. Yell, scream, whatever. It is the truth.

The Bills took Derrick Burroughs 1 or 2 picks ahead of Jerry Rice that year. Could you imagine a draft that had Bruce Smith and then Jerry Rice..... I know.. Revisionist history.. Just saying we could have had 2 of the GOAT's in one draft bounty....

I cant find the link. I am sure people here are more savy than I am. It was in the Indianapolis Monthly September issue. The article is named The Passion of Bill Polian.

I wish I had a link but they ran a article in the Indianapolis Magazine talking about Polian. They mentioned that when he was fired from Buffalo that Marv Levy went to Ralph to plead Bill's case. Marv said something like Ralph he is the best in the business, the best talent evaluator, the best architecht at putting a team together. Ralph said.. Marv.. I know. I just dont get along with the man. I cant stand him. basically the article was talking about how Irsay has been a buffer between Bill Polian and the rest of the world. Why?? Because when Lauvale Sape was released many of us wandered the streets of Buffalo trying to find a reason to love this team again. We wandered the streets until someone with a little thing called chroise walked into our lives and we were REBORN!!!

The whole Glenn Dorsey thing reminds me of the drama surrounding Warren Sapp on Draft Day. Not saying they are the same type of player just the pre draft crap.

I am still surprised that there are not more trades in the early picks. I think what would have to happen is a team that throws Jimmy Johnsons value board out the window as it is no longer accurate. The value of the number 1 pick is no longer quite the same. I guess my point is why would a team like Miami not swap the 1 pick overall to a team in the 5-10 range with say a third round pick included. Jimmys value board would say that is crazy or unfair value but with the rookies salaries it may no longer be the case. I guess the Buffalo case could be would you trade our first and second pick for the number 1 overall and get the player of our choosing? Even then it may not be worth it. The cost of the number 1 pick and the cost of the second round pick still may be more than it is worth.

The Colts are my second favorite team....... The Colts easily could have gone to the Superbowl 4 years this decade.. They did not... But won 1.... Trust me when I say you would rather have 1 win than 4 losses........ The parade and the joy in the City is something you have to experience....

Exactly. I guess I did not word it well. No surprise there..... I am not questioning Thurman Thomas and how solid a fit he was in the KGUN and the Bills. It is more had we prevented Dallas from putting the third piece of that lethal scoring machine would it have translated into a SuperBowl win. I guess it is not the no brainer I believed it to be.

That is what I have thought for the past few years.. Probably since the day I revisited a old draft page and saw that the Bills selected JD WILLIAMS 1 pick before Emmitt Smith...

Smith is the NFL all time leading rusher. I think he might have had some skills..... Or am I wrong? No doubt the Dallas line was terrific but with a different running back would they have dominated?
