  1. Honestly, we shouldn't beat him down. Give him a chance, he could be somebody special, we just can't see it.
  2. Strengths Scouts rave about his leadership and character. Never-quit attitude despite adversity. Film junkie who rang up 100-plus tackles in 2019 and 2021. Rapid read and response against play-action. On a continuous quest to go get the football. Loose and fluid in pursuit and change of direction. Bends and flattens off the corner as a blitzer. Speed to cover man targets underneath. Weaknesses Slender frame might be maxed out. Gets caught up too easily in the clutter. Engulfed by size if he's not proactive. Struggles to fit and hold a gap. Knocked off-balance by redirect blocks. Loses pursuit leverage, allowing back to cross his face. Angles to runner leave little margin for error as tackler. Average coverage recognition. Has had foot, shoulder and knee injuries at Baylor. Sources Tell Us "If you don't like Bernard, then you don't like smart team leaders who can run. It's that simple." -- Scout for NFC team. I don't have any input, I'm lost.
  3. We're just gonna have to do our due diligence on this one, before we freak out.
  4. I understand this is about the second round pick, but realistically we can add the speed element on the outside with Tyquan Thornton possibly at 185 or Charleston Rambo at 203. They're really there to keep a corner and safety occupied. This would free them up to take who they feel would help us best this year and beyond in the second.
  5. I thought I said Haskins in the fourth, day 3.
  6. I agree, but we don't know what Palmer has planned for this offense. They talked about running the 12 more but what's to say they don't struggle from that formation and they revert back to playing allot of 11. I'd love to add Kyle Philips to our roster but can't justify spending a higher pick on him if we're committed to running more 12. Plus in either formation we really don't have that "take the top off" deep speed on the outside that helps the slot and TE's.
  7. I can't argue with the stats but a couple good games shouldn't give you a roster spot. Johnson could more than makeup RB catches in his place and open a roster spot by releasing moss.
  8. Well that's kinda what I was saying when I stated that they can grab skill (like a TE) in the next 2 rounds to make that work. I know everybody has wood for woods( pun intended ) but Ruckert in the third could be wise decision. Are we having FUN yet
  9. Oh I want him in the 7th, screw that PUFA crap. Secure him no matter who's on the board.
  10. Well the reason I like Haskins is that he's a true bruiser, can catch out of the backfield albeit with a limited route tree but was rated as an excellent blocker in pass pro. Then there's the fact he's an excellent teammate, has the attitude and rep that he'll run through a brick wall for his teammates and had great coaching at Michigan. I remember when we drafted moss and he said his running style was to make defenders "make business decisions" but that never really happened. Haskins at 6'2" 228 lbs, could definitely live up to that statement.i just think he really lives up to the character of the team. He may never get people excited but will give you everything he's got.
  11. I'm really starting to think that we're gonna be more balanced this year switching between 11 and 12 personnel. You can pass out of both formations, but 12 can lead to more guessing by the defense trying to determine if it's a run or pass. Plus you can give Josh options to decide on either. They run allot of RPO, but if they're in a 12 and the defense shows a more pass defense then he'll be able to switch to a run and vice versus. So with that in mind, I think you need to add a running back that can pound it when need be while still having some skill with catching it out of the backfield, but is skilled in pass rush pickups. Those backs can be had in the fourth and later. Leaving them to add more skill tonight, whether that's WR,TE,CB,LB. Beane can move back into the 4th with a pick from next years draft to grab Hassan Haskins (which I've previously talked about). While grabbing Cade Mays or Chris Paul in the 5th, both of which have experience at multiple positions (which they love). Trying to get into the head of a GM will drive you nuts and make you question what he's doing, but I for one will give him the benefit of the doubt, because he's earned it.
  12. When has he not, last year was his least move around the board since he's been here. He's always working it, it's just who he is
  13. You must be talking about the p###### defense. Why can't I say pre-tard
  14. I like Ford, nice size speed combo, quick feet, gets North quickly.
  15. Because they know there's slot of talent in the middle of the draft, besides they are dart board drafters.2 of those 4 probably give you some good playing time and security to some extent for possible injuries to starters.
  16. The next 2 picks will be a good indicator of how much 11 or 12 personnel they plan on using. For 11 we're probably gonna a see a shifty, good pass catching back and a WR who should have the skills for slot play. If it's 12 then we're probably looking at a more of a one cut, get North bruiser and a TE who can block and give you at least some receiving skills. The picks won't be necessarily be in the order in which I wrote it.
  17. He stopped them because he had players faking injuries, it's now a rule because of what they did. I guess cheaters do prosper.
  18. That just what I'M willing to give up, there's allot of talent throughout this draft middle to late round picks are worth more. IMO the more likely scenario would be those picks to get in the 4th
  19. 5th, and second 6th. For the right guy of course.
