  1. He doesn’t pick based on need? Are you sure? Rousseau, Elam, Kincaid…all three play a position that they clearly targeted in those respective drafts. I would argue that Beane usually 100% drafts based off need in the first round. I’m fact, I don’t really think he drafts BPA until day 3.
  2. You know as well as I do that there always seems to be a run on WRs at the top of the second round. I would be very nervous sitting at the end of 2 “hoping” one of the top 10 guys, as you describe, falls to me. It’s our biggest need and should be addressed in 1, imo. You can wait on the other positions, just the same as you can for WR. Exactly. I was equally as happy when the lions took campbell. I don’t necessarily think the bills would have taken him, but it was a concern at the time.
  3. And you don’t think some really good safeties will be there on day 2? Your way of thinking is why WR is our biggest need. Waiting is what got us in trouble. Every draft, there is a run in WRs at the beginning of the second round. So we should just boot the position altogether until the fourth again? Nah. Hard pass on this idea.
  4. I disagree. If McD is great at one thing, and one thing only, it’s coaching DBs into excellent pro players. Our biggest weakness from a talent perspective is WR, not to mention that we are prob gonna lose up to 3 this off-season. We need to get high end talent at that position to give Allen the weapons he needs. We can wait to get a safety, because McD has proven over and over again that he can turn a project into a very good player.
  5. Imagine saying this the other way around…pretty weak post if you ask me.
  6. Go look at kincaids college highlights. He was a seam wrecker. What have the bills done? Turned him into a check down machine. It’s criminal.
  7. gReAt pOsT cHaMp…you understand we can resign some guys like Jones and Floyd and fill holes on defense in FA right? besides…if you’ve watched the games then you saw guys filling in just fine on defense and we still wOn GaMeS. The point of this thread was the wr position, but thanks for your invaluable two cents.
  8. You understand that the nfl in the 80’s was a different game right? The league was more of a defensive league at that point.
  9. Wow. So much wrong here. It isn’t our top need compared to DT, DE, and safety? Have you been watching the games or listening to the national media?
  10. Based off of what? We are talking about a GM that has only NOT traded up once since he’s been here. Bottom line is if Beane sees a guy he wants he will go get him. Agree, but if you told me we could have guys like Brian Thomas, Ja’Lynn Polk, Troy Franklin, or Emeka Egbuka when we draft, then I’ll be happy.
  11. The drop off is large? Haha! Says who? You?! Come on…this receiver class has at least 6-8 that are considered first round picks.
  12. Definitely not, huh? Even though there is a precedent with Beane when he identifies a weakness?
  13. Both teams came out on top. The bills needed someone that could come in and be the number one right away as they were trying to figure out what they had in Allen. Diggs has delivered in spades. Minny got a prospect that turned into the best receiver in the league, but they were in a different situation as they already had thielen and had time to develop him. I’m not sure why you can’t see that. Id bet anything that we won’t take a safety in 1. I think that’s a firable offense for Beane considering how bad our receiving corp has looked. And it’s been talked about as nauseam how good McD is at developing DBs. He can get a safety in FA or in the mid rounds and he would be more than ok.
  14. You are arguing just to be difficult at this point. Congrats…you’re “that guy”…
  15. You clearly want the bills to become the new packers, who pissed Aaron Rodgers off for years by not investing in top WRs. Cool.
  16. What’s the biggest weakness right now? WR cause Davis is insanely inconsistent. We don’t have to lose Davis for me to want to replace him. His time is up. He’s easily replaceable. As for Floyd…we got him on a one year deal. You think we couldn’t find another vet to sign a similar deal? We don’t have to draft an edge to replace him. We could probably even get him back.
  17. Just about every media outlet and the vast majority of the fanbase disagrees with you. Agree to disagree.
  18. You seem a lot older than that. My point is that this is a new NFL. It’s a passing league. We have a franchise qb and you don’t wanna get him the best WR possible? You would rather take an edge? We tried that in 21 with two straight picks in 1 and 2, which pretty much inspired this entire thread. Not to mention we took one in 2 the year before. Other than the Diggs trade, the earliest asset Beane has used on a wr has been a 4. You think that has anything to do with why we are in this mess to begin with? What is the issue with this team right now? What about last year in the playoffs? That’s right…offensive weapons. You can spin it all you want, but WR is the biggest need. It just is.
  19. Disagree. What if BPA is a QB? What if it’s a CB three years in a row? It’s a flawed system. You identify areas of need and then take BPA based on that board.
  20. How old are you? Just curious…
  21. I’m honestly not sure how anyone on this board can argue for defense anymore.
  22. We can also resign Jones, which I expect.
