How long until they hand the reigns to Joe Brady? Clearly Dorsey learned nothing from the end of last season to tonight, it looked like the exact same uninspired hot garbage out there. Even if it’s change for changes sake, I give him two more games, and if they’re still struggling to live up to their potential, get somebody new in that booth.

Unbearable? The only thing unbearable is this crap they’re putting on the field, especially after the way they exited last January. The offense has literally picked up right where they left off vs the Bengals. It’s week one, it’s been rough all over the league, but if things don’t turn around quickly I expect Dorsey’s seat to start melting.

I think we’ve hit Josh’s ceiling… that’s fine, he’s still more than good enough to win SuperbowlS, but we know who he is... I don’t think he’s going to have a super long career like we’ve seen from other franchise QBs, bc once he becomes relegated to being a one dimensional pocket passer, it’s going to get ugly.

Missed my point, “top paid” RB isn’t what it used to be in a down market for RBs across the board, comparative to other positions, I.e. wide receiver. I’m sure they could structure the deal so he gets more money next year when they move on from Diggs… Josh won’t need top paid WRs, what he needs is to stop being the entire offense.

While I generally agree with the sentiment of not overpaying for top tier RBs, I think the sticker price on an elite RB has come down considerably, and it may be a buyers market for those who can afford to pay a now reduced premium. McBeane have also now invested three picks in the first three rounds at RB in their time here, and have yet to get the production they desire out of the position. JT could definitely be the piece this year that helps get a team to the top of that mountain. This will definitely be a popular opinion, but I would even argue that adding a 24 yr old elite RB who the opposing defense has to gameplan for every Sunday, opens up the offense for 17 in a way that makes the aging elite WR, (who costs considerably more than the young elite RB), expendable next season.

You could argue McCaffery could’ve been the difference maker for the Niners last year had Purdy not gotten injured… I think Taylor would give this Bills team a similar boost as CMC did, and I’d part with Cook and a 2nd round pick if that’s what it took to find out… plus he’s somehow still only 24? Both he and Cook were born in 99… Mixon two years ago… Playoff Lenny for the Bucs… Can even go back to Beastmode for the Seahawks. It works when you pair them with the right QB.

So is there enough to go get a decent tackle? Sounds like that needs to be addressed somehow. Via FA with a dirtbag like Lewan if necessary, or via trade. But I’d hate to see the team stand pat and roll the dice on protecting Josh, again, after investing a quarter billion $ into him…

If Torrence shines, and Brown continues to struggle, do they try Bates at RT? Bates has been at minimum serviceable at every spot he’s manned on the OL, played tackle in college, not sure how much at the pro level, but it’s certainly not looking great for Brown out there based on early reports. Hopefully it’s simply a case of the pass rush finally being the dominant force McBeane has been trying to build since day 1.

Tampa is clearly in tank mode, but I’d have to think Beane has atleast already inquired. I’m just assuming neither he nor Godwin will be available until about week six when it’s evident just how bad the Suckaneers are this year, then they’ll start clearing house, but they’ll want to give Baker and/or Trask as much of a chance to succeed as possible to start. I agree though, back when there was talk of giving up valuable draft capital for D Hop, and he wasn’t just sitting there on the market, I would’ve preferred trading for Evans over Hopkins if it were an option.

When was the last time this team hit a DL pick out of the park? I guess Kyle for a DT, almost 20 years ago… I mean going back to 2000 this franchise has been woefully bad at selecting DL. Looking through 23 years worth of drafts, they really only hit on three DL draft picks. Aaron Schobel in 01 Kyle Williams in 06 Harrison Phillips 18 (serviceable, nothing to brag about not retained obv) *Marcell Dareus 11- Asterisk bc he was legit on his rookie deal, but as soon as he got the pay day he stopped trying and flamed out, so not exactly what you hope for out of the 3rd overall pick in the draft. So 23 years of drafts, and one legit edge rusher, one HOF caliber DT, one serviceable DT, one who had all the talent in the world but gave up on himself… and then two decades plus of JAGS and busts like Flowers, Denney, the human epitomization of “mid” Chris Kelsay, Maybin, McCargo, Troupe, Lawson, Ed, Epenesa, Basham, Rousseau… I get it’s a hard position to draft, but this has to be like historically bad. Not one legit edge rusher drafted in 20+ years…

I don’t know Josh personally, but he strikes me as somebody who actively avoids confrontation. There is nothing wrong with that, but I just don’t think he is trying to bother with baby sitting Diggs and correcting his attitude problems. Josh’s job is to throw him the ball, it’s the coach’s job to get his players to “buy in”, set aside their diva-like attitudes and handle their tantrums.

Again, just me personally, but if I’m in that position where I’m one of the best to ever do it like D Hop, I want to walk away with as much $$$ as possible, so I can keep building a financial empire of my own, and then maybe one day my kids or grandkids are owning a team while somebody else is putting there body and well being on the line for my entertainment and financial gain. I’m not saying $40 million isn’t enough, it obviously should be for any sane person, but it depends on what that person wants to accomplish in their post football career. Plus with what we know about CTE, I don’t think there is ever “enough” in football, hard to put a price on your greatly increased odds for early onset dementia. I’d gladly take as much as somebody is willing to pay when the collateral damage might be my head and time with family down the road. Either way, I think D Hop puts the bag before a Lombardi and cashes in while he still can.

I don’t think he’ll be a Bill or a Chief for that matter. Article on PFT says he’s looking to get a big pay day still, so I expect him to go to somebody like the Cowboys or Lions who feel they are on the cusp themselves, or a team with a young QB who needs reliable weapons, like Chicago or Carolina. I’m not faulting the guy for it, this is likely his last opportunity to get that kind of money in his lifetime. I actually think the guys who take “team friendly deals” are the crazy ones, especially when the teams generally show no loyalty to the players the moment their performance slips in any way.

Bringing him in would free Bates up to go battle for the starting RT spot, and would give them a great option to move on from Morse next year, which I think is in the best interest for everybody involved with his concussion history. Morse’s dead cap# would be $8.36m this year, where as only $3m next season with a cap savings of $8.5m. Either way this is likely Mitch’s last year in a Bills uniform, it’s going to be hard for Roullier to find a starting job that he can just walk into this time of year, let him compete for the job, and at the very worst he is an insurance policy against a concussion prone Center.

Trying to get Josh some big targets, and still the typical pissing and moaning… on a 5th round pick. Who cares that Beane’s success rate, including drafting WR, has been better than average in the late rounds? Who thought last year Benford was going to step in right away and not only start, but play well enough to not be a weak link on a 13-3 NFL team? The teams Beane built should’ve at the very least went to back to back AFC Championships, likely a Lombardi (two years ago), and last year went 13-3, in the midst of what seemed like non-stop injuries… Trust the process, it’s worked thus far. It’s not like this is a franchise backing into the playoffs year after year, they are elite, they are knocking on the door, it’s just a matter of time before they kick it in.

TE is one of those spots where it takes often a year or two to start realizing their full potential, likely due to the complexity of the position and blocking requirements at this level. Still I’m hoping for 600-800 yards and atleast 5 TDS, as he is the top TE prospect in a very strong class. Considering what the Bills have done with Knox, who had a whopping 39 Catches for 605 yards and zero TDS in his entire collegiate career, I’m excited to see what Kincaid does in this offense. I mean the dude had almost half of Knox’s entire college catch total in one game vs USC… This was already the #2 scoring offense in all of the NFL last year (though you’d never believe this any time the name Ken Dorsey is uttered around here), and the flexibility the DK’s allows Dorsey is going to give opposing defenses nightmares. How do you know if it’s a power package or are they going to split one/both guys out and go 3/4 wide? I think the rookie makes his presence known early and often as DCs won’t know how to gameplan for this new wrinkle in the Bills offense.
