  1. Right, but that doesn’t have much to do with a random arena football league placing a franchise in Buffalo imo. They’re looking at the entire country. These leagues tend to choose larger markets. Buffalo is the 53rd largest TV market in the US with Fort Myers/Naples soon to surpass it. Buffalo is a great sports town, but that doesn’t mean these type of leagues are coming here, and I don’t think we’re missing much. I’d rather see Sabres playoff games, and more great concerts in Buffalo. The novelty of these leagues wear off quickly, and I’m not convinced Buffalo, or anywhere can sustain them. The Bills consume most of my football energy, but I’m not going to say an arena team wouldn’t be cool either. I’d just be surprised.
  2. It’s not just economics, it’s the size of the city as well. Buffalo isn’t one of the larger markets, and you eventually run out of people interested in these secondary leagues. There isn’t much interest anywhere in the country at this point. We’re a smaller market with an NFL franchise. How much demand for football from a lesser league does the city have? That doesn’t make us a bad sports town, it just means people moved on to hockey season. These leagues work best in markets without pro teams or larger markets. I understand your point, but I don’t think an arena football team can be used as measuring stick for Buffalo’s economy.
  3. For everyone who doesn’t understand why this happened, it’s not strange at all. I don’t remember where I read the article, but the building planned on being lit in the colors of both conference champions. The KC colors were also shown. Football is kind of a big deal these days. Great joke from the sanitation department, but the Giants better hope they’re better at “taking out the trash” then the NYC sanitation department. If not, the Giants are in trouble.
  4. It’s also going to get crazy when they have to pay their guys. I know every team with expensive QB’s have this issue, but Bengals ownership is notoriously cheap. Burrow will continue to be great, but I’m not sure about this team over time.
  5. Some people are just letter of the law types, so the NFL can justify it, but I agree. I’m fine with the flag if it’s blatantly out of bounds, but the first two steps out with a light shove just isn’t enough in that situation for me.
  6. Technically that was a late hit, but the contact was minimal, and Mahomes fabricated a bit. He also just got out of bounds. I guess I’m old school, but refs used to lighten up in crucial moments. I’m surprised how many of us like the refs deciding the game.
  7. Way more ticky tack call then these announcers want us to think. That’s over the top in such a huge spot imo.
  8. Boneheaded play by Pacheco not getting out of bounds.
  9. They need one more big pressure here. Jones has been huge.
  10. If the Bengals score, it’s amazing how much of a whimper the Chiefs went out with.
  11. Officials really want Mahomes to be Willis Reed.
  12. Reckless reach for the first down in middle of field.
  13. Suddenly seems like this might become an offensive showdown.
  14. I’d like the Bengals so much more without the “Who Dey” Cajun accent in Cincy nonsense.
  15. He’s coaching like playoff Andy Reid who got chased out of Philly.
  16. Can’t wait to hear what adjustments from both teams Romo is talking about. The Chiefs have come out looking awful, not sure what they’ve done.
  17. It looks like old playoff Andy Reid who doesn’t know when to slow down the game for his offense is reappearing.
  18. Bengals offense heated up last drive. I’m sensing KC sputtering.
  19. Frazier and McD basically gave KC the blueprint for tonight. They demonstrated absolutely everything you don’t want to do against Cincy.
  20. Agree, and it’s not just the clock. They were picking up about five yards a carry. One carry might have been enough to get in field goal range. That was frustrating old school Andy Reid stuff there.
  21. Good first half by KC, but that type of good isn’t always good enough. They outplayed Cincy, but left way too many points on the field. Usually that’s the team who takes the loss.
  22. Agree, and they were also getting five yards a run. I know KC isn’t a running team, but everything they were doing worked on the previous drive, then Reid completely switches it up.
