It’s not about liking a thread or not.  It’s about your absurd witch hunt manufacturing false information that you spread to others and it infects this board and other threads and brings the quality of the board down.

Threads like this are like cancer…nothing good about it and it just spreads.  Like nothing you post should be taken seriously after hanging your hat on what you know was a thread all about you to stir up nonsense.

Im not joking when I say this is the worst thread of the year.  All it is really is a lightning rod for all the internet Karens who want to hear what they want to hear, ignore facts, and spew manipulated and falsified info to fuel a bias hatred of Diggs before anything legitimate or real has happened.

    Well said!

The only thing missing is the inherent racism in some of the posts

Great question and really difficult to quantify.

In his prime, there are only a handful of defenders (all-time) id take over him. Very few players could take over games like could.

Even when was think of today's very good players, how many really take over a game? Not many. Donald did that. A lot. And in key moments.

100% agree. But I'm talking history of the whole league. Just don't see DT making as big an impact as other positions.

Maybe phrase it differently.  Where does he rank in DTs all time? Bob Lilly, Mean Joe Greene, Randy White, Merlin Olsen. He's probably not worse than 3rd on that list if not number 1!

Sometimes Diggs goes fishing for controversy, drops something fairly innocuous, but also sort of not, then points at everybody and says "why are you guys always like this".

There is a strong possibility that in the next 24 hours his IG is a picture of him in the Caribbean with the caption "Ready for water*" and somewhere in the comments he says "why does everybody keep making a bid deal about typos. None of you have ever had a typo?"

I agree with this. I think Diggs likes the spotlight a little controversy brings.

There was this guy named Jerry Rice who played during that era, plus Andre had other HOFers on his own team. Andre didn't need to have 1,000 yard 100 catch seasons. If he had to, he CERTAINLY would have.

I love Diggs too, but he can't be the lone guy anymore.

100% agree he can't be the lone guy. You get no argument from me there. I would rather he get 90 catches if the other balls are going to Knox and Kincaid. If the other guys are stepping up it only gets easier for Diggs.

I agree with you on McDermott, but since McDermott's butt is NOW on the line, I think maybe he doesn't trust Diggs to carry him over the finish line. It's wrong, but who knows.

And Diggs is number 3 on the Bills all time WR list.

No one is taking Diggs over Reed #1 and Moulds #2.

Career stats is not the full measure of greatness. Again I can see how people say Reed is the best. Reed was my 3rd fav after Thurman and Bruce. Reed was amazing. Diggs and Moulds are both physically more talented than Reed. Reed had toughness and may have been the best run after catch WR in NFL history.  Nobody caught Rice from behind, but nobody in my opinion ever ran with the ball better than Reed. All that said, Diggs has better speed, route running, and just as good hands as Reed did.

Andre with the gold jacket would like a word—and he could be a real firecracker himself…remember the helmet throw? We have a rich history of excellence at wide out imho—not ready to just hand the sole crown to Diggs just yet. Andre showed up in the playoffs iirc.

Andre was great but never was in the conversation for best WR in the league. He never had back to back 1000 yard seasons.

Diggs is better.  Moulds was physically better than Reed but had ***** QBs. I'm not trying to take anything away from Reed.  He was amazing but Diggs is better in every way except run after catch.

I think his roster bonus should have triggered at the start of the league year in which case he will cost the Eagles about $900k this year.

I just read his base is $1.9M.

As others have pointed out a "quality" backup QB probably is the same cost.

As another posted pointed out, if Beane had done this and wasted 22 draft spots the board would rightly explode. Eagles got fleeced.

    I don't know.

But, he is only 30, which isn't old.

I am purely speculating that the Bills brass is somewhat tired of Diggs dissappearing acts in big games.

It's the only reason to ever think about trading him.

When does the Bills brass get tired of McDermott's defense choking in games???

McDermott throwing Diggs under the boss was the lowest of the low for this loser coach.

I would take ten Diggs over one McDermott

I am trying not to get emotional but the people that what to run Diggs out of town really piss me off. Diggs is the best WR in franchise history and people want to run him out of town. I've said this before but he is the only one to stand up to McDermott and his joke of an OC. I love him for that!

Isn't it possible for a team to trade for a player, then also agree to absorb the dead-cap hit?

I thought the Browns did something like that a few years back.

    No.

    You can't trade dead cap.

The Browns just inherited the bad contract and got a high draft pick for doing it. They had the cap space to absorb the stupid salary.

i'm sorry i don't want to be a putz but.. Diggs #'s dropped because we were spreading the ball around, plus badly thrown balls by josh!

Oh I know Josh missed him multiple times.

I think he can easily catch 100 balls next year even with a more balanced offense with Cook, Kincaid, and Knox.

So if Cook is injured, then you are ok with Ty and a 6th round RB being our backfield for the playoffs?

Yes. There hasn't been a RB that has moved the needle in the playoffs in what a decade or more. If Cook gets hurt they will just need yo adjust.

    Maybe maybe not.

I admit I have a soft spot for Diggs because he had the balls to call out McDermott on his choice of OC. He has more heart and drive than most on the team.

But north of 30 for a WR can be a quick downhill trajectory.  So you may be right. I'm really hoping he has a big bounce back year. He's been one of my favorites.

I have a feeling that, after signing Samuel, that they could go BPA in the first round, and take a WR with their 2nd or 4th pick.

That's certainly possible if there is a run on WR. Might also depend on whether Diggs was injured or not. They likely have a better idea than us why his numbers dropped.

If 2024 is his last year in Buffalo I have to believe they draft WR in the first round.

  13. Normally I am not an advocate of drafting "BPA".  I think most GMs that say they do lie anyways. At best it is usually BPA at a position of need.

However this year may be the year to just sit back and let the draft come to you.

As of today, the only starting spot open is Safety.  That may yet be addressed in FA but even if not they can take one on day 2 with a little maneuvering.  They can justify drafting backups and future replacements at most levels.

I'd be perfectly happy if Beane traded around to get the deep speed WR with size this team lacks. Then just take BPA the rest of the way. You could make an argument for just about every position even taking a backup QB that might have trade value in a year or two. OL, DL, RB, DB, and you can always use a backup LB for teams. Pick up a punter on day 3.

  14. Dodson played better than I thought he would, but I didn't think he was playing as well as PFF was grading him.

Just have to hope Milano comes back to form and/or Williams is ready for more minutes

Maybe at least to start the season Milano and Williams platoon to ease Milano back into things.

  15. I admit I had to look him up and watch a few highlights.  Read every post.

I think the consensus is he is a solid possible upgrade over Davis.

Agree with others I am still taking a WR at 28 or a trade down. Still need a DT or edge in round two.

Maybe play the long game now and see if they can get a safety on the cheap.

Is he?   The money does not say so.  In 7 years he has 22 TD's.  Davis has 27 in 4 years and has been a great playoff performer.  Does this guy block?   He just seems different to me, not a huge upgrade.  Davis dropped the ball more than we like, sure but are you telling me this guy has no warts?

Who was throwing to this guy vs who was throwing to Davis?

In my opinion, that would be a bad pick.  Go find video of Franklin falling twice running routes against air at the combine and watch him struggle through the “gauntlet” drill.  He is also only 175lbs.  Now, I acknowledge that doesn’t erase what he accomplished last year, but combined that would leave him off my list of options for round 1.  Maybe at 60, I’d take him.

I hope you’re right, but I think you’re underestimating how much they will miss their rotational guys (Floyd, Phillips, Settle, and I think I’m forgetting someone.)

Floyd gets replaced in the second round. He was good but faded and was non existent after Halloween.  Settle is terrible. Phillips was a nonfactor. They will find another DT body at some point - draft or scrap heap. Can't be much worse than Settle and Phillips were
