Just a couple examples but even after our large FA haul , not many ppl beyond the fan base were taking this team serious. Especially since the draft , it seems some national reporters have done some research about this team , including recognizing McBeane as a potential great Hc/Gm combo. I don't mind being under the radar but glad that they're slowly getting the respect they deserve.

It's playoffs or bust for me. I think Allen is that good and the OL specifically will go such a long way in this team being successful

Bills don't deserve any respect yet.  They were by far the worst team in the league a short 9 months ago.   I was at that Baltimore opener.

The process continues.  Respect comes from lots of W's.   Winning the offseason only matters then.   They haven't done that yet.

  2. to win 2 out of every 3 games against any team not the Pats would be a great step forward.  so that means 9-7.   tough to see 10 over all wins or making the playoffs when you start every season 0-2 in your division.   Bills would need to split the Pats games to make the playoffs and get to 10 wins.  I don't see Josh Allen beating Brady this season after looking so bad against them last season.   Bills look like a better than .500 team, and definitely on the rise for 2020.   One more good draft and FA period and with continued stability at OC and DC and and they should be ready to contend for the division.

    Trust the Process.

..nope...ear plugs....how much do you think Pegula allowed McBeane to spend on his staff of 17+, primarily made up of former exec level personnel guys?....that check book was carte blanche so where's YOUR BEEF?...bet THAT payroll in north of $5 mil+......we could always be the Bungles with a scout staff of three, one of which is Brown's daughter....knowing him, she's a minimum wage......

agree.  Bills need to continue to join the major leagues, not force the bigs to join the minor leagues.  all goes to the fact that if the league were to start over today, WNY would not get a sniff at a franchise.   RIP Ralph, but I for one am glad a rich guy who wants to join the bigs is in charge now.

The Bills should get ahead of this thing now and bring in another qb. I think it’s a good idea to have that 4th guy in the hopper here to get reps and learn the playbook. You are always a hit or 2 away from these backups having to play and you can’t rely on an undrafted rookie with serious mechanical flaws to be a hit away from dressing.

they will definitely have 4 arms in camp.   that is a given.   how many on the roster week 1 is another question.  derek anderson was more than done.  all good

With those 4 guys likely being locked in at WR and with the Bills set to carry no more than 6 WRs maximum, one of whom will likely be return man Andre Roberts, and with useful players like Ian McKenzie and Duke Williams also vying for playing time....it's crazy to me that people are so put out about the Bills not drafting a WR5. They did, however, go out and get two UDFA WRs in Easley and Sills who, had they been drafted in the 5th round, would have received universal praise from Bills fans.

I get wanting the Bills to draft a WR. I also get why they DIDN'T draft a WR, and I think anyone that got too bent out of shape about it is/was being silly. You can't just take a guy at a position just because you need one, and say value be damned. If you go by the "Best player available" strategy, which Beane has told us again and again he does, you begin to see that the best player left on the board each time the Bills picked was NOT a wide receiver. Go back and look at the Singletary pick and the WRs available at that time. Who should they have picked? Ditto the Knox pick. You could argue that they should've taken a guy in the 5th or 6th round, but at that point the odds that said player would have a substantial impact are low any way. And again, they got what many believed to be 5th/6th round caliber talent at WR via undrafted free agency in Sills and Easley.

Brown and Beasley were great pickups.   Much better than draft picks and rookies.

I’m actually interested in seeing if Lawson has improved his pass rushing abilities. His game got considerably better last year. Doesn’t mean I don’t want Ansah but I’d prefer a 1 year deal.

Lawson was drafted specifically for Rex's 3-4 to set the edge on first and second downs IMO.   that is what he does , Ragland to be one of the two inside banger LBs in a 3-4.  thats what he does.  When Rex was fired and they went penetrating 4-3  , both guys became irrelevant.

Right now we have 4 wr's in the range of 5' 8-5'9".   Beasley is 5'8", Bolden 5'8", McKenzie 5'8", McCloud 5'9".

    5 wr's in the range of 5'11" - 6'0".   Brown is 5'11", Roberts 5'11", Easley 5'11", Phillips 6;0", Scott 6'0"

    4 wr's in the range of 6'2" -6'4".   Foster is 6'2", Jones 6'2". Williams 6'3",  Sills 6'4"

Obviously, talent, motivation, etc. are the most important considerations ,  but can you keep 3 or 4 of the 5'8" on the roster?

you can pencil in Beasley, Brown, Foster and Roberts (ST) right now.  the rest fight for PS , one or two stick.   I doubt McKenzie sticks with Andre Roberts there, McCloud is gone as well for same reason.    My guess is Jones sticks, and one of the others (Williams?)  .  I only see 6 WRs max.  at least 3 TEs stick.

The draft came out pretty much as I predicted. The Bills got one and half picks that anybody has ever heard of and then a whole bunch of guys that the Board immediately said “who”? I’m hoping the professionals know what they’re doing. They spend way more time at it then I do. But...at first glance I’m thinking this one will be a semi-dud.

    Go Bills

Trust that the professionals know what they are doing.   Because they have proven so far they do.

They completely fixed the WR position this year, just as they fixed the defensive backfield 2 years ago, thru FA with guys who already know how to play WR in this league instead of drafting rookie WRs.

Plus they fixed the O Line and also replaced Kyle with a guy probably better than Kyle.   Plus replaced Kyle's locker room presence with a guy probably going to the HOF.

    McBeanes are killing it.

    Trust the Process.

Tyree will be on practice squad. Unless he's just lights out in preseason no team is going to add him to their active roster.

I've never seen this Jackson person play, sounds like posters want him just bc he went to UB.  Not a good reason.   If he can play, fine, but sounds like people are deciding with their hearts and not their heads.  I know Anderson can play QB in the NFL if we need him to, and I want Allen seeing him preparing for game day each week, not rolling a beer belly  out of  the coaches room in shorts every day.    Jackson wasn't even drafted, which tells me all I need to know for now.

I look at the Yeldon signing as insurance. Gore will be 36 come preseason, and I have a hard time believing he will be an upgrade from Ivory. The only thing that surprised me about the Singletary pick was that they didn't draft more of a downhill runner. But, I don't hate the pick AT ALL. I think he will be a fun guy to watch, and if his elusiveness can translate to the NFL, he could develop into something special, imo.

Gore likely gets cut in camp, IMO.  Or Yeldon.   One or the other.   They signed them as insurance depending on how the draft went.   They get a guy at RB in the draft.   Singletary will stick and one of Gore or Yeldon won't .

Trust the Process.  It appears from what the "experts" are saying that McBeanes are killing it in the draft.    again.

  12. when's the draft again?    thursday?   Bills draft , what, 9th?    so they don't pick until what, 9 or 10 pm?   might be back from my match by then... should work out.. its summertime babe, football is on the back burner now

draft is not very interesting at all to me.  I trust McBeanes to get it right.  I don't follow the college game enough to have strong opinions .. read a few articles which makes me a name dropper and that's about it

will record it in the highly unlikely case they trade up,

will be bringing a D.C. area crew up for Bills/Skins though.  folks from here have heard all my whoppers and now want to witness the tailgate scene.. that will be interesting..  :)

Devin White is good and may even go Top 5. But he is not in a superior draft grade category to Q. Williams, Ed Oliver or even Montez Sweat. Bills are not taking him when impactful Dline BPAs are available.

I want DLs guys who are closer to the QB.   QB pressures and great QB play by your QB are the difference between winning and losing in todays NFL

    I dont like this..

I want them to continue to be the media despised, hopeless small market team with the future bust in waiting QB who couldn’t hit the side of a barn..

    Stay under the radar..

i think the media despised small market team part will continue no matter what they do; that's never going to change.   the nfl needs to sell the TV deal to the networks  for max dollars; the Bills have no place in that effort.  this will always be the league of the big markets.

Another year, another round of irritation at the Bills not getting any primetime games.

    One more time:

The Bills, being a small market team, are ALWAYS going to be behind the 8-ball in terms of garnering national attention. The only market smaller is Green Bay, but they have a storied tradition of winning and an elite quarterback, so they get night games. The Bills? The Bills absolutely HAVE to win football games and make the postseason and HAVE to have some marquee players in order to even have a SHOT at night games.

If the Bills make the playoffs this year, they'll get 1Thursday night and 1 Monday night game next year. If they make the playoffs AGAIN or if Josh Allen becomes a superstar, they'll get more than that the following year.

You have to earn this stuff. The NFL wants ratings, and putting a Bills team that's been bad for 20 straight years and has no real star NFL players in prime time doesn't make good business sense. Win football games, get prime time slots. Simple.

yeeeee   p.   not sure lots of winning does it either, but would like to find out
