The night before our last regular season game and reality is starting to set in. Tomorrow will be the last bills game until September 2019.

While there's some excitement in the off season with the draft and free agency, it's nothing like the regular season. It's also a bit depressing, that not only is it the end for the bills, but the end of the regular season in general. Playoffs are always fun and exciting, but no more Sundays sitting on the couch from 1pm until 11pm(or whenever I decide to go to bed) watching football. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not ready to wait 9 months to see more Allen. Bummer. Will enjoy tomorrow as much as possible

you perhaps should develop some other things to do with your time

Here's what I think the cost of each FA will be for 2019

    Alexander 4 million

    Phillips - 3.5 Million

    Mills 2.5 Million

    Paradies - 9 Million

    Willians - 8 Million

    Foster - 7 Million

    Tyrell Williams - 10 million

    Yeldon - 5 Million

    James - 5 Million

    Barr - 12 Million

66 Million in 2019 Cap Space with 91 Million Cap Space

    Plenty to make these moves"

you need to figure in both the competitive premium plus the  "buffalo premium" required to offset most players natural reluctance to come to this place.   so add 40% to 50% to all these numbers,  a greater premium than that required to get over the hill Mario Williams to sign

As regards the Jests having more cap space than us, well they certainly do. Thing is, they have a lot less guys already under contract for next year, so we may well be in a better position than them.

Lets see... I'm a single milliionaire rock star professional athlete in my mid 20's.   I am choosing between NYC and WNY.   All else being equal, I'm going to NYC.

My guess is the Bills can get their O Line fixed in free agency to some degree as those guys are family types who may not care about the big city.  Skill positions?    Probably coming in the draft as draftees are stuck with the team that drafted them.

Its Christmas guys. Why do this to yourself during the holidays, focusing on the disappointments of the past?

Think of the future & how bright it is now that we have a clear cut franchise QB.

Hope springs eternal & i'd rather look towards the future than think of the past's coulda woulda shouldas.

Lets beat the Patsies this Sunday!  GO BILLS!

there you go.  well said.  bills fans dwell on the past.  coulda woulda shoulda .   faggetaboutit ... trust the process.

  5. Could be the week.   Although not having Taron Johnson and Matt Milano will hurt quite a bit against the short passing game of the Pats.   I can see Brady carving them up with 5-10 yard passes.   No RBs will hurt as well.   Not sure they can win this one on Allen shoulders alone.   But they will compete.  Trust the Process.   McBeanes know what they want to do to build a contending roster and are about halfway through doing it, in my estimation.

Cogs and Wood going down were huge.   But no one wants to talk about that.    They'll get the O Line fixed in the offseason.   BTW I see Cordy Glenn and Sammy Watkins (oh and Darby) are all out again.   Hmmm....

woops , operator error on this ole edit function... need to stop getting up so early.   sucks getting old

The losses of Wood and Incognito definitely did not help at all. The lack of wideouts and a veteran backup QB is just completely on them, however. I cannot wait until Clay is gone... he's a waste of roster space.

Miller is back at RG today. I think they know what they have in Ducasse and he's simply not good enough.  They need to see what they have in Teller and also Butt Kicker (Boettger) who they are starting to work in.  Sirles was awful last week in place of Miller.

Yep.  2018 just one big long pre-season season..   working in the rookies, grabbing every FA they can get their hands on,   rinse, repeat

    trust the process

I'm happy with Barkley as my backup QB.  If he's willing to re-sign, I'd do it.  I want the Bills to obtain a little insurance at CB and strong outside linebacker, and maybe get a couple more defensive linemen.  We can focus on offense other than that.  I expect there will be some quality free agent offensive linemen available in addition to those cited by the OP, and Buffalo is in a good position to be competitive.  Money wise, theyll have a lot of cap room, and I think they can sell Josh Allen as an up and comer who is going to be a winner in the league for a long time.   Draft BPA with need being your tiebreaker for players who are similarly rated.

my sense is some of the cap room will be kept to sign their own guys like T White long before their rookie contracts are up.   Agree with TigerJ that everything else being equal, in most cases FAs ain't coming to WNY.   Too many off the field opportunities (endorsements, appearances, TV, etc. ) in the cities perceived as big, popular, fun, young.

From a practical standpoint, best bet is to build it with the draft as those guys are "trapped" in B Lo for 4-5 years.   And some of them will like it in WNY and can be re-signed with that cap room.  I don't want any more FA overpay contracts like what it took to get Mario Williams to come.  That is bad business and comes back to bite you in the -ss.

This franchise has drafted extremely well under McBeanes; need to make the most of those 10 picks next year.

Marcel - not worth the money...lazy...is not improving the jags defense (you could make a case that he is hurting it for the amount he is getting paid but is not a team leader)

Sammy - foot is hurt again....not living up to the draft status and cost on 3rd team has played with two different very good QBs.

These are the players that we would have given contracts to if we did not trade them away for draft picks....our cap space would be nil.....and we would be right where we were.

This is why they were let go...this is why we rebiult...this is why Beane and McD did what they did.

    Is it becoming more clear?

Its not all perfect.....I wanted to keep Woods but he didnt want to stay.....Gilmore is still a good player with the patriots.....

Gilmore wouldn't come up and tackle my grandmother.   Woods is a SoCal softy; his agent pulled him out.

all your points are on target.. the process is working.    This was all abundantly clear to me a year ago.   Trust IT.
