The parallels are pretty similar.

Idk. Brett Favre went to the Jets for a year and stunk it up. Then he goes to the NFC the following year and had the most efficient & arguably best season of his career. People should think before they write off Aaron Rodgers so quickly. An injury like he sustained could take a couple of seasons to fully heal especially at his age. And the most obvious reason being the Jets are the by far most dysfunctional organization in all of sports. I’m not sure even sure Allen or Mahomes could produce a winning record there. They are that bad. Love or hate him, Rodgers is a competitor. He wouldn’t get to the level he’s been to without having a chip on his shoulder. I don’t think he wants to go out like the way he did. Being pretty similar to Josh Allen, I am very intrigued about what AR could do in the Daboll system.

I’m gonna be in the minority, but yes. I think he’s a potential problem brewing in Orchard Park. 15 million a year is insanity and it’s not like we have bums sitting behind him. If he’s planning on pulling a Leveon Bell then the Bills should definitely unload him if they can get a 2nd rounder. We would be breaking even. Spent a late 2nd and got some good production. I don’t think he would be as effective behind the Kansas City line. I don’t want any of this to happen, but I would absolutely pull the trigger if ANY TEAM offers that. It would be fantastic ammo to potentially move up the draft or trade for an elite player. I’ll take Ty Johnson/Ray Davis + Garrett or Crosby

Does Dion Dawkins make the Wall of Fame

Yes because he’s shut up most of the haters he had earlier in his career with consistent high level play. User name checks out 👍 -

Josh Allen has had bad stretches as well. A lot of great players have slumps. How do you know for a fact it has been his weight? Sometimes it has to do with injuries or bad matchups & game planning. Dawkins never struck me as a lazy person. He’s been the most consistent player on this team since he came here. It’s not easy to get a LT of Dawkin’s caliber especially in the late 2nd round. The FO absolutely nailed that pick and we can thank them for possibly extending Allen’s career by keeping him upright. -
Beane being Beane. This is a Leonard Floyd type move. People are going to hate and he’s older, but Preston Smith is a solid move if they get him on the cheap. A great rotational pass rusher who I think could put up 8-10 sacks. From what I’ve read, he is very solid against the run as well. This move also wouldn’t warrant out a trade for Garret/Crosby either.

Commanders are instant SB contenders now. Having Daniel’s on a rookie contract allows them to make moves like this. They needed more firepower to take down the Eagles. I do want to see if Daniels goes through the dreaded sophomore slump now that the league has a full year worth of tape on him. I think he is the real deal. Possibly the best QB in a weak NFC especially if he puts up another season like the last. Having a QB on a rookie deal works wonders.

Does Dion Dawkins make the Wall of Fame

Moulds especially. Give him Josh Allen and he quite possibly could’ve been a top 5 WR of all time. Shoot, give him Ryan Fitzpatrick. The cast of QBs Moulds played with was horrific. Among the worse I’ve ever seen. The ultimate “what if” player. Not that he didn’t have a great statistical career. He was 5 yards short of 10k. -

People don’t understand how great it is having the LT position nailed down year in & year out for your franchise QB. Josh Allen was the least sacked last year for a reason (I don’t want to hear how he does it all by himself, that is ridiculous.) Does he deserve the wall? Yes, if he plays at a high level for the next 5 years and is part of a championship team. Dawkins is easily the most under respected player on the Bills by fans. Durable, athletic, can play run or pass, and a total stalwart on the left side. I remember all the bozos saying he was out of shape a couple years back and then he had a Pro Bowl season. You don’t hear from those same fans anymore. You know who you are 😉 -

DK Metcalf requests trade to a contender

At this point, I am entertaining any elite talent at pretty much any position if I am Beane barring RB and LB. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Josh isn’t getting any younger. Can’t keep hoping draft picks are going to develop and they don’t. Also Stefon Diggs was a huge trade at the time. -
Didn’t know a 3 point loss with some VERY questionable calls was getting “spanked.”

Sucks for them. Bo Nix is gonna be a star -
The case for extending Greg Rousseau
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. We could get close to equal amount of production from AJE at half the cost. Rousseau is a good player, but not for what he’ll demand on the market. I’d rather start AJE and roll the dice with another a rookie 2nd round pick. -
Who was the Bills next best edge rusher after Bruce?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
Aaron Schobel and his lunch pail Averaged 10 sacks a season and never left the Bills. Retired and put up double digit sacks his last season. Easily could’ve played another 3 seasons or so at a high level. Brady was no easy target either considering how quickly he got the ball out. That’s a very impressive stat -
The worst move in Bills history was not paying Jason Peters. A top 5 player ALL TIME at his position. Normally, I’m against it when players don’t honor their current contracts, but Peters was switched to a completely different position (casual fans didn’t understand at the time the importance of a elite blind side blocker) and played at a ridiculous level. Buffalo got absolutely FLEECED by the Eagles. They made up for it slightly for the Shady McCoy/Alonso trade, but Jesus Christ. I can’t even remember the GM at the time. Who was it ? Bc they’re a moron.

Stafford given permission to seek trade
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope Miami does this. Would be reminiscent of Culpepper. I would be ecstatic -
Neither is a half back dive up the middle. It’s pure brute force, but that’s what football is about and building a good line. You look for bigger, stronger guys to push the other teams bigger guys off the LOS. Football doesn’t always have to be complicated.

They needed WR help in a potential championship season and they took a shot. I don’t see anything wrong with that.
-
It’s a familiarity thing. I can’t even count how many times we’ve played Kansas City over the past 5 years. They know us so well and know exactly how to exploit this scheme. It’s pure vanilla to them. They need to come up with a game plan to unleash on KC when they inevitably face them in the post-season. I don’t necessarily even think it’s a talent issue. Couple that with just horrible luck and officiating.

Imagine Allen with someone like Tyreek Hill. The non-scumbag version. Like I said in my original post, 2 out of the top 3 picks needs to go towards defense. Possibly even packaging a 2nd & 4th to climb up the first round to nab a blue chip player if one happens to fall. But I hope they grab a sub-4.3 player with the remaining 4th rounder. There are a few guys available who most definitely could be around the time the Bills pick. Isaiah Bond from Texas would be a nice choice, but I think he will go in the early 3rd. He’s got world class speed and a versatile route tree. Out of all the “fast” WRs, Bond has the biggest chance of becoming a #1 or high end #2. If Buffalo doesn’t move up in the early rounds then I hope Beane can wheel & deal himself into the 3rd round to nab him. Most likely wishful thinking. My ideal scenario would be Beane staying put and grabbing Arian Smith out of Georgia. He’s had issues with drops which I know fans will not be too happy about, but will be the main reason he falls along w/ injury history. I think he offers just as much as Isaiah Bond and is a better “value” pick, IMO. He just needs to work on his concentration and bulk up a bit. I would use him as a gadget player in the mold of Isaiah McKenzie and obviously a deep threat/decoy while he continues to refine his skills. Beane needs to nail the draft (and the off-season as a whole) or heads will start to roll. There is not enough top-end talent YET, although there are young players w/ loads of potential. I do think people are giving up way too soon on the 2024 class. Every logical fan knew Keon Coleman would take 2-3 years to develop. I feel like he is moving along nicely. He’s displayed flashes of all the tools & strengths experts said he had pre-draft and put up a very respectable stat line. The other totally forgotten player on the other side is DeWayne Carter. With the amount of talk on this forum about him, I almost forgot he was even on the roster. His situation reminds me so much of Bernard. If you were around this forum going into his 2nd year, he was talked about as a completely wasted pick or not even mentioned period. People were panicking big time about how to replace Edmunds and the answer was right under their noses. I guess my point is that fans needs to give younger players more time.

I didn’t say it was a pick up I necessarily wanted, it was one I see Beane making with limited cap space. And Cooper was injured. Nobody really knows the extent, but him. There’s a difference between being a mid-season acquisition and having an entire offseason to get acquainted with a team. Neat info.
