  1. No, that was the 1990 AFC Championship game. The game they are talking about now was in 1993. Jeff Hostetler was QBing the Raiders and it was flipping cold, like Green Bay cold. IIRC it was cold like that the week before against the Jets as well.
  2. I missed the part where Ted Washington was a slim, trim, and well cut 350lb man. I agree with those who would sprint to the podium in rd 2 if he's there.
  3. Nope, you'll keep them, buy them, and rationalize why they really are a solid design that needs another chance.
  4. Yes, I'm disagreeing with Bill Cowher's diplomacy regarding a former colleague. I don't want Bill Cowher to pick a coach. I want Bill Cowher to coach and I highly doubt that Mr. Cowher would say that Chan is a better coach than he is.
  5. You know today is probably not the best day to take things personally around here. There are three kinds of people on here today. The furiously angry, those who are in denial and supressing their furious anger, and the mentally ill. I am A.
  6. What is there to be outraged about? Today is an absolute embarassment on every level.
  7. Then the pile of money placed in front of them was insufficiently large. Somehow I doubt that the Chanster is raking in anywhere near 7 million per. Ralph talks lobster game with a tripe budget.
  8. Because people we've heard of are generally unsuccessful, which is why they are so often discussed...and promoted... Didn't you know that? It's a little early for ol' Chan to be pulling the Andy Reid "I'm smarter than you so I don't need an OC or to do things you think make sense" routine isn't it?
  9. Well, we don't have or need one so I guess that stands to reason. This ship just sails itself.
  10. Aaaaaaand...we're done. Honey, was that the quickest quickie ever or was it just me? I'm actually surprised people didn't line the road stoning the limo as it came in.
  11. I was at that game along with many others and now they are dead to me. Retaining Jauron and signing TO put them on probation. This was it. I honestly can't watch them destroy themselves any more. This move is going to kill the franchise in Buffalo. Season tickets will drop by 15-30% this year. No real FAs are going to come here with this. Are you serious? They are going to stink out of the box because they still won't have a QB which will kill any remaining vibe to sell any more tickets next year. By the end of next year the buzzards will already be circling as ESPN constantly shows an empty Ralph with a 3-13 team. Ralph isn't going to live long enough to fix this one and the epic fail that is about to ensue will kill off the fanbase so as to remove any valid arguments against leaving. Go ahead flame me, give out personal attacks. Call me bandwagon fan, a traitor, and whatever. I don't care. You're getting upset because you know I'm right and you just won't admit it to yourself. This was the most critical hire in the history of the franchise and, predictably, they blew it.
  12. Hell, I'm a teacher. Hire me. As a matter of fact, I'm particularly qualified to coach this team as I am a special ed teacher.
  13. #1 - Take off the Chan Gailey rubber suit and reveal himself to be a competant coach.
  14. Yes, yes you are very very very horribly wrong. Bill Belichick - incumbent since 2000 Rex Ryan - incumbent since 2009 Tony Sparano/Bill Parcells - incumbent since 2008 Chan Gailey - new hire Which one of these names is not like the others? Which one of these names just doesn't belong? We have to beat out at least two of those other gentlemen to even be in a playoff discussion. Let me put up another list to illustrate the point: Marv Levy - incumbent since 1986 Don Shula - incumbent since dinosaurs were new Bill Parcells - incumbent since 1993 Ted Marchibroda - incumbent since 1992 Rich Kotite - new hire These were the coaches in the AFC East in 1995. Was there any chance in hell that the Jets were going to beat out 3 of those 4 names for a playoff spot? Guess which team was flat out terrible. FWIW: Leon Hess was quoted at Kotite's hiring as saying "I'm 80 years old, I want to win now!" <edit> Kotite's career record at the time was 36-28 and he'd made the playoffs once and won 1 playoff game. He had finished 10-6, 11-5 (made playoffs), 8-8, and 7-9. As for your comment re: the Jets you could at least see the path to success the second Ryan was hired. The Jets were going to play tough defense and run the ball in order to win. What exactly will Chan Gailey's philosophy toward winning be this coming year? What is the blueprint to victory? Is it running or passing, is it pressure defense or passive? This hire is going to kill the franchise. There I said it. It will kill the entire franchise.
  15. Well thanks for pissing on my little parade. If they hire Chan Gailey how in the hell do they expect to sell any tickets? There will be pitchforks and torches from day 1.
  16. Slap a Bills sticker on the front and I guarantee that any vacuum you buy will be the suckiest suckfest you every did see. Of course if you ever remove the sticker it will stop sucking immediately.
  17. Of course, for Cowher to be coach means Frazier can't be. Just sayin'
  18. Actually he was one of the folks I'd thought about as an OC when we were all drooling for Cowher given that connection. Obviously I don't know your source but I'd want to check that he was going to be HC, not OC for someone else.
  19. Cessna does make more than one kind of plane...That said I'm not sure I understand how this is interesting. Who would be coming from Dulles? Saunders?
  20. Tim, I totally get that. The difference between all of those people and Cowher is that Cowher is on TV every single week in a format where Casserly or anyone could literally turn to him and ask the question. I don't get why CBS is letting all the other networks take the credit for their data mining when the "source" is sitting there on their air. I also see a major difference between a person's agent saying they are not interested and the actual person saying it. When the agent says it that means "Come back with more money", when the person says it it's usually true, unless you are Nick Saban. I'm not saying the reports are inaccurate. I'm just saying that it's strange to not just put it to bed if you aren't at all interested and help your current employer with the lead rather than continue to make the Adam Schefter's of the world look brilliant by having your agent leak to every other news source on Earth. Every time there's a rumor or update or report from another news source it drives web traffic and viewership/listenership as every insane Bills fan (myself included) rushes to read it or pay for ESPN Insider to read it. Why ISN'T CBS taking any of that traffic, or at least killing it for ABC/ESPN and Fox? It's the only leverage they have and they are smart to use it. It also explains the denials a little better. If the agent clique knows that these interviews are posturing why would they want to send their clients in for BS interviews only to get turned down? It's better for their own coaching mystique to come up with some other reason not to go as opposed to having the note "passed over for the Buffalo job" on their Wiki for life. I acknowledge that it's a leap to believe this, but it's not that big a leap. I was hoping the Vikings would lose this week just so we'd find out. Oh well...
