Barbara Bush's Katrina giving
VABills replied to X. Benedict's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So that you can donate and earmark it. Some people give because it's the right thing, not for the deduction. I am not a CPA either but I have given to specific charities in the last few years with instructions on how to use it specifically. I was not permitted a deduction because I did that, however, these were things I felt strong about and worth more to me then the deduction. -
Barbara Bush's Katrina giving
VABills replied to X. Benedict's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Actually there are tax implications. If you donate and specify that something be used for something specific and not what the charity deems best use, then you cannot take a deduction. Hence this is actually better giving on her part since prevents her from taking the tax writeoff. -
He only sucked in one game. I don't know if Losman or any other QB would have won 10 games in 15 starts, but to discount what Orton did is stupid. To do anything else is conjecture and fantasy, as Orton did do it.

If only the French fought like this in WWII

Yes and no. In a lot of states, take Virginia where I live, an employer can lay you off for no reason. It's a right to work state. -
This should put the Skins over the top
VABills replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate the skins more then anyone here, but wow. This team made the playoffs, and we sucked last year. Humbleness might be a good medicine for us right now. -
Ahh yes, personal attacks and no context to base anything on. Yet, Bledsoe had the #2 defense the year before and couldn't make the playoffs. Sure the defense won a lot of games, but the QB also can't lose them. But keep up your fantasies that just because someone we drafted is the Holy Grail, and it will happen.

They want what the Spanish people think they just gave themselves. They want a socialistic society where everyone gets everything they want. Great works on Star Trek, but this is the real world and you get what you earn. Having a socialistic society will only overprice your exports, cause undue duties on imports to help level the field, and really isolate a nation. Remember trade (money) helps form allieances. Lack of them causes enemies. -
Why can't we just judge each player on their own merits and decide from there? Personally I feel that Johnson is getting a bum rap in this thread as JP hasn't even played up to that level yet. Someday he may, and I'll be eating crow, but right now Johnson is/was a far better QB then Losman is.
-
And winning seems to be way over your head. But we won't go there. Way to bring personal attacks into this idiot.
-
No way of knowing. Butto sit there and discount what those two did as rookies and say it only happens rarely is not accurate. Brady before that. I have nowhere said anything about any Bills QB here. I am just saying some guys do what it takes with the talent around them and win, other's don't.
-
Same can be said for Ben. Also, if you throw out Ortons fisasco against Cincy with his 5 int's he wasn't bad the rest of the games. Did he win some, no, but he also other then the Cincy game, didn't lose any. My point was to say that only Ben did it, is BS, Orton came in as the #3 Qb for Chicago and through injuries was thrust into a starting role and won 10 games for Chicago. Don't tell me having a QB who can hand off properly, manage the field, call audibles, adjust, and keep drives going doesn't help the defense. It does, and Orton did what he needed to do, to help the Chicago D.
-
Why, because he won 10 games? Do you dispute that fact?
-
Didn't Orten win 10 games on 15 starts last year? Yeah his stats sucked, but he did enough to let his team win or not lose however you want to put it. There are certain folks who have it others don't. It isn't just big ben.

Just causing trouble. Me personally, I've pretty much decided that I want Brick, Hawk, and then Leinart, in that order during the draft. Noone, and I mean Noone out there has the ability and intelligence to really help us in the shortterm besides though 3 if we stay at #8, IMHO. Besides, from a Jets perspective, it makes sense. They have decent, not great Olinemen. They still have Martin at RB for one more year. Leinart and Cutler are the best two choices at Qb, and Leinart is really the better of the two by far. They could use Vernon Davis and help on defense, but noone that will be there for there #4 is really worth it. So they should either trade down and maybe get Lendell White or Vernon Davis around 6-9. Or they should leverage the pick and get the stud in Leinart. On top of all that Pennington is good, when healthy but he isn't great. As has been mentioned if you get a chance to get a "FRANCISE" qb, you do it.

So let me see if I got this right: If you're whiney when you're young you grow up to be a good sound citizen with good moral fiber, making good money and paying taxes. If you grow up a complacent child you grow up to be a whiney B word, with no morals, complaining you can't get free condoms, and you're worried that as a crack 'ho you may get pregnant again, and you are so drunk or dopped out you forget to get the !@#$ out of NOLA when an evacuation is called for. Hum.... let me see which I would rather be.

A must question for music lovers everywhere.

Only one, and it's because of what the song says, when it came out and what it meant to the father of these 2 girls. The song was released in the middle of all these happenings and to this day, and just can't help but think the father will not experience what the song says. The song is "Butterfly Kisses" and this is what was occurring locally when that was released: http://www.fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/200...04212001/264062 http://www.fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/case/lisk47.htm -

Yeah they are working on a realized rate now for us, to keep it even. I won't get into the whys but we have been raped the last couple of years on couty taxes due to some very fishy politicing by a certain group of county employees.

Could D'Brick ultimately be one of those guys...
VABills replied to HeyNowBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually he quit and told everyone even while he was at OSU that he was going to be a doctor and would quit pro football early. If you remember he had issues at OSU with coaches who were angry that he actually was going to class rather than skipping and going to practice like everyone else. -
Afghanistan, 2 steps forward, 1 back.

This is very much like early Christians and the Roman empire. If this guy is not just using this conversion to "get out of the country", he will go down as a martyr for Christians worldwide. This guy as such will meet God sooner then the rest of us, and will be happy for a long time. If however deep down he doesn't and he is using it as the excuse I said, then he will get what he deserves. That said, Bush and crew ought to keep out of it, other then to say, "It is a sad" situation, and let the local Afghan government handle it. -
Another Wonderlic thought, and QB's...
VABills replied to Ghost of BiB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nall seems to have had some footwork issues early in his career. but never seeing him, I dont know what the problem was. He seems to have a lot of qualities I like in a QB, intelligence being a big one. I am more of a stay at home, and find the receiver passer, and he is more in line there, plus they say he has good touch on the short ball while still having a strong arm. Too me, it is like having Kelly Holcomb and Bledsoe combined. The best from each. Again, worried about the issue with footwork, as that can throw accuracy out the window. Of the rookies, Young and his 6 can go elsewhere. Leinart got a great score at 35, and I don't know how Cutler did. I am under the impression he may have the highest score this year, but wasn't able to find it anywhere. -

Look at the QB's picked early last year (1st three rounds). You had Smith, Rogers, Campbell, Frye, and Walter. I believe Campbell had the lowest score at 28. Maybe GM's/coaches are mostly starting to think that as well. -

QB, Center and Left tackle are 3 positions on the offense where the guy had better know what he is doing. With that said, doesn't it bother you to that the QB and LT that a lot of folks want have a combined score in the 20 range? I don't know what Fowler or Preston scores are but would not be surprised to have it be higher then JP and Peters combined. BTW, Fowler had a 22: http://browns.scout.com/2/51672.html Preston, got a 27 the first time and a 30 the second: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/20...OC-Illinois.htm Nall had a 31: http://www2.jsonline.com/packer/news/aug02...sp?format=print JP had a 14 on his first: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/20...p-QB-Tulane.htm -
Probably not on too many radars, here

Yeah having a socialist government who now renounces all the major democracies, becomes more isolated worldwide, and more hostile to foreign capitalist sure help that domestic problem. Good luck Spain in your future trade negotiations, and military alliances.
