That's a killer. How was that play not blown dead? Guy's hanging off Allen for like three seconds before the throw.

Depends if it's before or after the safety. Shouldn't have been a safety though as they didn't give us enough room to catch.

I thought that throw after the unsportsmanlike penalty where he avoided the rush, stepped up and rifled it on the money to Clay for a big gain was all Allen. He also made the right read on that first read option in the second half for the keeper to the left. He'd been struggling with that play. There are some good things. He's just a rookie who's making a lot of mistakes. Shouldn't even be playing.

He's a rookie QB making a lot of mistakes out there. A lot of the pressure on him has been his fault. Loved that shot of him firing up the defense though. He's clearly got a lot of heart.

He's actually been pretty diplomatic about it. Allen is making big mistakes with protections, and he's been very inaccurate.

Disagree. Also, a big part of our "poor blocking" is the lack of rush recognition by the QB. Josh has no idea where it's coming from, and so our protections are all wrong.
The fact he's made questionable decisions on all the other read options, including two this game, would seem to suggest it's a problem, which was my point.

Allen is at fault for that Ingram sack. Again, he has no idea where the rush is coming from. Needs to change the protection there.

Don't see how. It's pretty clear that Whaley wasn't the one making decisions in that draft room. Besides, McBeane's fate is tied to Allen now. If he turns into a franchise guy it won't matter that Mahomes is good too. Doesn't look great right now though.
