  1. The McShyamalanBeane twist is going to be that it was Dane Jackson being "showcased" all along. Hooo, gasp

Will turn out that all the Elam doesn't get it chatter was the curveball. Elam and Benford subsequently both level up. Cam Lewis makes the team and and provides backend support along with Neal. Taron Johnson continues being the maniac that he is. Nobody really thinks Dane is the #2 on this team, cmon.

  2. Even considering the ridiculousness of the shell of Trent Murphy this place would still do cartwheels if we grabbed a guy in the offseason that was coming off 6.5 sacks in limited time. Likely replaceable yes but why really, he may be just good enough or approaching just good enough to be more valuable than the hole he'd create. Many here act like it's Allen-Diggs and a team of journeyman with no depth, well AJ is a front runner for somebody who should be approaching dependable depth at his position.

Its hard to score TD's and win football games playing as sloppy as Buffalo did vs the Steelers IMO.

Desperation because you want your starters ready for the regular season?

We can go in infinite circles on this I'm sure but why are they not ready and how exactly is 15 minutes against the Bears going to dramatically change that? Desperation may be the best word for it unfortunately.

  4. Picking the Pats is something. Not sure if that something is pure laziness or a contrarian take of almost the trolling variety. I can swallow the argument that the AFC East is more competitive and that the Bills may not come out on top, but the Pats lol? MacDonkle isn't surving two rounds each of the Bills, Fish, and Jets, c'mon now.

Best HC in NFL history for starters.

Also the roster on defense is one of the best in the NFL and they got a real steal with their 1st round pick who IMO should have been a top 5 - 10 pick, offensively they probably still missing a few pieces but if Mac Jones can revert back to his rookie form or close to it they are going to be one of those grimy type of teams that rack up a lot of wins and Hoodie knows how to tame division foes in recent years.

You've truly twisted yourself in a pretzel at this point. You have no foundation anymore. "Offensively they're probably still missing a few pieces..." uh you think?! Bro they're missing just about every single piece.

You trolls always get way too greedy. Shouts to SaviorEdwards who at least attempted to maintain the art of subtlety.

  5. The risk is overplayed simply because there's no real benefit. Even if Josh marches down the field in 20 seconds is that really going to make a difference weeks from now? A knee injury on the other hand...

I think the benefits of anything involving preseason is overplayed and and any argument for it is contradictory. These professionals that have scored touchdowns literally hundreds of times in their lives need to now do it against the Bears this week for it to really matter? Nah. If there's still that much desperation to "gel" at this point then McD's seat should be practically on fire.

Overrated and obnoxious. Someone needs to get in his ear to get into better shape.

Obnoxious is an interesting take and I don't really disagree. He stole that whole shnow thing from Hollow Da Don and then proceeded to beat it into the ground.

Who could get in his ear though? Josh? Mitch? Kind of a weird situation where Dawkins is supposed to be one of the leaders that gets in peoples ears.

It’s a preseason game with plenty of context and history behind it.

I thought you were calling the preseason game historic but I think I'm grasping this word salad now. Yes, o-line is a problem, and the lack of depth is a frightening situation that is not a new issue.

  8. The voice of my youth. I remember being in a car with my dad, specifically around the Silver Creek exit on the Thruway if I remember correctly, and it was RJ interspersed with news about the first World Trade Center bombing back in 1993. Truly stuck with me forever. Also enjoyed listening to many games in an unfinished basement and then following it up with hours of NHL 1994. Total legend.

  9. Can one of the better trolls get this new cringelord up to speed on memes, etc? Jerry Maguire really?

Perfectly normal for every single team to sort through discards because there is no single team that has every position nailed, and even then injuries happen. Chiefs have been sorting through all kinds of no names at secondary, just signed another one this week. Clearly they’re not content with their depth and I guarantee they’ll snag a cut DB from somebody’s trash.

It could end week 1. Could end in practice next week. Why even think like that?

Oh so this is like some abstract “you can die tomorrow on your way to the grocery store” argument? Lol ok man.

I’d personally not risk it in practice football world but hard to argue with your overall logic I guess

It’s football man. If he gets hurt he gets hurt. Can’t play scared. That’s actually worse.

If the season ends week 2 of preseason so be it?

lol c’mon with this tough guy bs. No you don’t risk your all-world QB in the preseason. I get the value of reps but this is a truly horrendous take

I think I’ve got this down, something like:

”Truthfully he was a luxury pick-up anyway. Thankfully, Dolphins management was able to establish enough depth so that this won’t be much of a factor. It pays to have an organization with foresight, something Beane could surely learn from”

while simultaneously dropping us 9 spots in his power rankings because of Brandon Shell retiring…

  13. Eh Charlotte? I don’t think I’ve been to a more boring city.

Buffalo is a great city but there might be different perspectives arguing past each other here. It may very well lag in the walking tour for first timers department, I can see that. Skipping the city if you only have a day before the game makes sense especially if you’re already going to the Falls. You need at least a day to eat and drink anyway.

Doing deals to trade UP, and giving up assets in the process, in order to get "that 1 guy that you really like" is fundamentally BAD BUSINESS and not how to proceed, long term.

Beane likes doing this, which is one of his few weak points.

So uh, this didn’t work with Josh Allen?

At some point you’re going to have to validate yours points instead of just throwing contrarian stuff at the wall. This “strategy”, if it is as obvious as you proclaim, has turned the franchise around.
