He is a Chiefs fan. Says things to get a rise out of Bills fans. Most of us have caught onto him and have him on ignore

Pretty sure Pats fan. He let it slip when MacDonkle had a decent drive against us last year and then proceeded to get eaten alive. You would have thought Airseven was ready to claim the second coming of Tom Brady early on in that game day thread. See also his weird Pats online support in this thread.

  2. Allen might break records this year. He's clearly dialed in, in great shape, may have shed some dead weight socially, etc. There isn't a person in the world that's calling for his regression. The man has put up 3 straight years or 4250 and 35 through the air, which nobody else but Mahomes can say. If you're still dumb enough to try to be that much of a contrarian that you can't admit that he's one of the top at his profession, then just wait 5 months, you'll either be forced to cave or you'll look even more insane. You couldn't even get Nick Squidward Wright to say that he's expecting a down year from Josh.

I just don't see an elite defense here. I can see a good one as a whole unit in sync. However, come playoff time you need 2 or 3 absolute studs to make plays.

Fair enough - Von, Poyer, Hyde, Leonard Floyd

All old yes but you need those wily vets for a run. Rousseau the real dark horse. And I'm not even mentioning Tre because like many I'm still not convinced, but if he's back to form, that's at least 4 studs. It's not like this is the Texans defense or something, it's a combo of legit vets and potential everywhere

Edit - can't believe I forgot Milano. Studs abound newcam, hope it's enough studs

I think the ones arguing that since he made the team last year he would make it again are just wrong.

Personally speaking, that's not really the complete argument at all. It's mainly a counter to the argument that they'll keep him around just because they feel bad or whatever, since this obviously wasn't a factor last year. He's shown he can make a roster before, which shouldn't be completely ignored. Agree wholeheartedly with Rapp though, but I think Hamlin has just as good of a chance as anybody right now to be the final piece to stick after that. I think we can all agree that he's 100% on the bubble at best.

Appreciate the notes though. I also worry that he may be tentative when real game speed hits, which I wouldn't blame him for at all, so what you saw makes sense unfortunately. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets cut, and then either sticks with another team, or capitalizes elsewhere in the public eye. He'll definitely be fine though.

But I'm the biased unreasonable guy here. Oh OK if you say so.

I mean, ya. There's like four of you battling for top pessimist on a daily basis and you're definitely in 2nd or 3rd place. When it's constant negativity it's a trend, and your reasoning for why this top ranked defense is so average conveniently leaves out injuries to Von, Hyde, and Poyer. Unreasonable? Probably not. Biased? Definitely.

  6. I don't think there will be much fallout and he'll be fine. As others have said he's pretty much his own brand now, a ton of options await him if he stops playing football tomorrow.

That said, he made the team last year without any boost. I can't personally shake the concern that he must have taken a step back physically considering everything that happened to him, but if he somehow is still the same player then it's not crazy to think he sticks. I'm not necessarily sold on Marlowe who it feels has been sporadically on and off the team for the last decade and has never really made an impact.

These Allen “injury” updates are “click bait.” If he spilled water down his chest and wiped it off with his hand, these guys would yam about a possible chest contusion.

Ah yes, clickbait from Twitter accounts with 10k followers for the handful of us watching to the minute updates from a Tuesday morning training camp. Makes total sense! I'm sure this "clickbait" is driving a ton of ad revenue...

  8. Addison was gone before, but I'm interested to see how that offense works out.

Jefferson is so clearly the 1A best WR in the league. It's hard to get into how incredible he is without it devolving into Diggs trade nonsense (they're both amazing) but Jefferson is truly on a unique run right now. As an incoming receiver, I think you need to know you're going to be a complete backseat to likely the biggest target hog in the league, who isn't ever leaving, so you almost have to mold yourself into that John Taylor role. Big ask for a newb on top of even figuring out if you can play in the NFL. One of the reasons why the Vikes may continue to sputter despite having all-world talent.

The Jets only true weakness was QB, and they added a guy who has won MVP two of the last three seasons.  That's nothing to scoff at.

I don't know man, it kind of is considering Rodgers will turn 40 this season and has become, no BS,  an ayahuasca advocate since the last MVP. Plus he took a beating last year. I personally think this is going to be an almost Russell Wilson level flop. I simply don't believe Rodgers still possess the physicality and athleticism to run away with the division, the same division that is a hit or two away from turning Tua into a vegetable. I think you may even see some early Rodgers whining/drama if the Jets don't rip off immediate wins.

  10. Others have said it but I'm confused by some of this  - so did they stop practicing that way? If not why are they likely the worst team in the division? All of this reads as if "The Patriot Way" is a thing of the past, which likely means it's not very sustainable, especially if you don't have a legendary QB allowing it.

Indeed. It makes sense that Allen would be outside the top 10 as the #4 ranked player at his position. The Allen/Hurts/Herbert debate is a good one. Mahomes and Burrow are on another level. Allen needs to cut down on the crushing mistakes...and reach a Super Bowl...to achieve elite QB status (as opposed to his current elite athlete status).

Always gotta get that weird stretch jab in…

Hurts/Allen is maybe a debate. Herbert is nowhere near them and an objective analyst like yourself should be fully aware of this. By all accounts Herbert was disappointing last year because he clearly didn’t take the step forward that many were waiting for. Want 280 yds 1 Td and few impactful plays? That’s Herbert every single week. I’d take Lawrence before him easy.

  12. He can hang with Freiermuth and Engram, I'm cool with it. Might even bump him up to 9.

Trying to think if they missed anybody but this is pretty accurate. I don't know if I'm completely buying that Goedert is one of the best in the league, or perhaps the position has dipped in quality a bit compared to even 5-10 years ago.

Njoku is better. So is probably another 3-4 I could spend a few minutes thinking about. Maybe fent?

Njoku thrived a bit as Baker's outlet and seemed to have a knack for big plays but it feels like people have been waiting for him to arrive for 6 years now. He's almost identical statistically to Knox except Dawson has a much better nose for the endzone.

They might have only been 285, but it was a super strong, solid, lean,285 and they were still the biggest strongest guys on the field.

Lean 285 lb lineman? That’s Lebron James bro, it’s extremely far from common. Who of Wolford, Hull or Frerote fit this description? If anything they were just slightly smaller fat guys.

Not being able to gamble on anything makes zero sense to me. NFL games I get it…even when it’s not your own game. Not being able to bet on a boxing match?? Make it make sense…

Yeah I'm not really understanding this what with 80% of all commercials during any TV or radio broadcast shoving gambling sites down my throat. I must be missing something.

So if a rando practice squad player on the Lions throws $80 down on an NBA tournament one weekend, he's banned? Or it's only within league or during league play? Make it make sense indeed

Ah ok, NFL only, got it. Seems incredibly hard to police but that makes a little more sense.
