  1. A FEW TWEETS????? Wow. Just wow. So there is NOT a large segment of Trump's base that believe the seriousness of the virus has been dramatically exaggerated by the media and that we didn't need to go this route? Again. Wow.
  2. Really????????? Are you a Twitter guy? Virtually all of his big time proponents like Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk have a timeline filled with tweets claiming the numbers are fake, hospitals are empty, etc. You are REALLY denying that a large percentage of Trump supporters don't believe COVID is especially serious? I mean, the seriousness of the virus is a legitimate debate as is the debate over whether or not we needed/need to shut things down. But it's willful ignorance to insinuate that it's "not a thing." I'm actually pretty stunned by these responses.
  3. Serious question; which is it? A pandemic or a hoax. The President just said that if we hadn't taken these steps, there would have been more deaths than the civil war. Yet most of the base thinks the entire thing is a media production. I'm just not sure how those two ideas are reconciled.
  4. You're not good at this. That's my point Joe. I'm leaving the politics aside for a moment and just noting that he wasn't nearly as harsh (or funny) as I expected in this particular press briefing. He made some good points. He said some things that stretched the truth. I'm speaking more of the theatrical standard he's set. I'm not a fan, but again leaving that alone for that moment. I AM a fan of his theatrics because he's an entertaining guy. I'm sure he'll come out much stronger very soon whether it be a rally or another PB.
  5. I clearly don't see this the same way as the majority of the board, but that was NOT a good look for Trump. I've seen him "own" the room; many, many times. That did not happen here; at all. The Hemmingway line was good, but this was a subpar performance. He'll have some really interesting tweets later tonight.
  6. Here's the deal; none of us truly know if Allen is going to emerge as a top 5-10 QB. So we can add all the weapons on Earth and there's a chance he'll plateau as a middle of the pack guy. I feel like the receiving core is probably top 10 in the league right now. The offensive line is good enough in pass pro. The passing game is going to sink or swim with the QB. Knox is going to be a real wild card. He's got a chance to be a special tight end if he can fix the dropsies. I'm a Knox guy so I feel good about his chances. So let's say JA plateau's and doesn't become the guy we all want him to be; Well, the 49'ers just reached and blew a SB with a middle of the pack QB. I don't want to rely exclusively on Allen's progress going into next season. If you bolster the RB position and OL (especially in terms of run blocking) and continue to add to the pass rush, this team can still win a lot of games even if we don't have an All Pro QB. The ultimate objective for Beane and McDermott is to win football games and they've done an excellent job thus far maximizing win totals. Whether or not they win a SB will probably depend a great deal on JA, but I want to see them in the mix. If you make sure the other areas of the team are STRONG, you mitigate the risk at QB and essentially build in a contingency plan. Don't care how they win. Just win.
  7. That's where I'm at. We already took a WR with our first pick and the only thing missing from the unit was a legit number 1. Enter DIGGS! If a receiver is BPA, so be it; I'm frankly surprised I'm seeing all of these WR threads and virtually none at positions like edge and OL.
  8. You are correct on the yardage discrepancy re; 2018 vs 2019. Gore was a waste of space, but he wouldn't have been nearly AS bad if the offensive line was able to open some holes. They got absolutely manhandled in short yardage situations and that remains a concern. Most of Singletary's yards came as a result of misdirection. There's a whole lot of improvement needed in terms of traditionally running the football. Also a whole lot of attention needs to be paid to what we do WRT to the defensive end situation. No organization worth their salt would ever become complacent in terms of how a unit performed last season. Teams need to CONSTANTLY infuse talent across the board in order to sustain succcess. I'm glad the Bills spent their first round pick on a wide receiver because it was certainly an area of need. But I don't want to see them become Matt Millen's Lions dedicating a disproportionate amount of resources to one position. If a WR is BPA, go for it. Otherwise, there's plenty of other areas in which the team could use a talent/youth infusion.
  9. I don't think I'd say they had a good run game; outside of JA, they couldn't run for a first down on 3rd and short to save their lives. They were 8th in total rushing, largely because Allen ran for 631 yards. They were slightly below average at 4.4 YPC, once again, largely because Allen averaged 7.1 YPC. I don't know about you, but I don't want the QB leading the rushing attack. If we're talking about lining up and running the football, there was a lot to be desired last season.
  10. Right. I think what happened is that the position was so bad in 2017 and 2018 that they've gotten a little carried away. The WR unit is pretty solid. Let's not get obsessed with any one position. Need to run the ball, play defense, get after the QB, protect the QB, all of the things that make for a complete football team ready to win a Championship. The Chiefs are an anomaly; Mahomes is a world class QB and their "weapons" are really, really good. We obviously have no idea if Josh Allen will ever reach that level, so we should be building a football TEAM. The Pats won 6 SB's without a Madden level receiving core. There is more than one way to skin a cat, and the focus should always remain on a well balanced team.
  11. I would say they're middle of the road in terms of back end receivers. We're pretty set at receiver right now and we've got an entire roster to bolster. What we're essentially talking about is taking a WR with our first AND second round picks. On the surface, that is not a good allocation of resources. If some stud were to fall to us in the second, they'd have to consider it; but this notion of building a Madden style receiving core is a little over the top.
  12. Well, she is pretty hot. At any rate, don't fully agree on the proportionately issue, but STRONG take.
  13. Here's the deal Rob. Imagine if an NFL wide receiver conducted himself the way Donald Trump conducts himself. He'd be EVISCERATED as a diva, malcontent, punk, thug etc. by THE VERY SAME PEOPLE who love him. You know it, I know it, OJ know it. Outside of the Fox News bubble, this is apparent; it's obvious; it's flagrant. Now I don't care if people are flamboyant, etc. I don't care if WR's have a me first attitude. I don't care about any of that. I care about RESULTS. I'm not really an emotional being per se. I'm gonna continue to live my life. I'm gonna chase money; I'm gonna chase women. I'm gonna drink. I'm gonna smoke. I'm gonna believe exactly what I believe whether it fits a liberal narrative or not. But the right has been POUNDING THE TABLE about character, ethics, and morality for as long as I can remember. Now, not so much. On the flip side; prior to Trump, the left HATED the FBI. All of a sudden, they're the most important, ethical agency ever bestowed upon man. By the by, I keep hearing Trump is draining the swamp at the FBI. What exactly has he done WRT to the FBI that involves someone other than Trump, his orbit, or his political enemies? I guess that's another story. I can recognize this shape shifting for what it is regardless of who's doing the shape shifting. I don't believe Trump supporters recognize the hypocrisy THEY exhibit. So your final statement insinuating that the left is so much worse than the right just doesn't ring true. This is bigger than Trump; he's just the current President. I think we've reached a point as a society in which people cannot think for themselves. They live vicariously through Presidents, Athletes, Celebrities, etc. They join a herd and follow that herd even if it deviates from their true self, which has actually been lost somewhere along the way.
  14. The Standing Buffalo is EVERYTHING for me WRT our uniforms. Standing Buffalo is "vintage." Stripe just makes it dated.
  15. These are politicians, not voters. They've all been flogged to get in line by the rank and file. Trump's approval rating among Republicans is HISTORIC while Dems are calling their candidate a rapist and the entire Sanders wing is threatening to sit out the election. Orange Man Bad. Orange Man Good. No matter what. If you don't think there's a HUGE swatch of people that fall under BOTH of these categories, I don't think your being honest with yourself. Maybe orange man is ALWAYS good. I suppose that's a valid take. But to pretend both sides haven't twisted themselves in knots to defend a narrative since he came on the scene seems disingenuous.
  16. Gotta chime in here. A) I recognized the mainstream left was making a huge mistake by summarily dismissing this drug simply because Trump sent out a tweet suggesting it may work. It may work. Considering no cure exists, there's absolutely no reason to dismiss a treatment that's shown promise. HOWEVER, the Dems(my party) are at war with each other over which direction the party should take. You have the Biden, Pelosi (I'm a Democrat) wing and the Bernie, AOC (Fundamental Change) wing. The latter is essentially threatening to sit this election out because they didn't get their way. Now, my assumption is that you're not a fan of either wing, but Republicans have been in lock step with Trump since day one. I suppose that's because he's great. That's fine. But Republicans ALWAYS get in line behind their candidate while Dems fight among themselves. So while MANY on the left do fit the orange man bad mantra, an equal or greater amount of those on the right live by the orange man GOOD mantra. Both parties have NPC's and they're all equally useless.
  17. I just don't think a solution exists without (dreaded) government intervention. Not this time.
  18. 1999 was also a GENERATIONAL QB class; Tim Couch......... Donovan McNabb; Very good career. Daunte Culpepper; couple good seasons Akili Smith...... Cade McNown........................................... I'd have no problem if they added a receiver later in the draft, but I'd prefer they use their early picks on edge and even OL. They've got to start developing some young talent (preferably maulers) because the line is lacking in that department. The draft is to build your overall roster and not cater to any one position. We've already used our first round pick on a WR. Let's not become Matt Millen's Lions.
  19. Just been scrolling, but this piqued my interest. If the FBI is paying you, there has been an EGREGIOUS accounting mistake.? At any rate, the virus is a bit worse than I initially expected, but appears to be far less threatening than the doomsday predictions from last week. I do have concerns about the FALL/WINTER because logic dictates such viruses don't like the warmer weather. Obviously makes a vaccine imperative. Trump has been all over the map because that's what Trump does, but throughout the chaos, hospitals are generally getting what they need. Mainly wanted to say that if the FBI is paying you, the agency is in far more trouble than even YOU'VE reported.
  20. I've made up my mind; I'm WITH Allen. But he needs to perform like an upper echelon QB to be treated as one. He'll gain respect both locally and nationally if/when he takes another stride as a passer. As far as Josh Allen hate, I see it EVERYWHERE nationally, but almost never among Bills fans. One thing that irks me a bit is when we compare JA to the other members of the 2018 QB class. Being the best of the class will mean nothing if the class ends up being a dud. Josh showed steady improvement from year 1 to year 2. No doubt about it. But he's got to take another big step in 2020 to get the kind of uniform, unconditional praise you're seeking.
  21. One thing I gotta say about this Ryan Tannehill talk; there's not a SINGLE NFL ORGANIZATION in their right mind who would sign up for 6 years of mediocrity and a boom in year 7 that may or may not reflect growth. He walked into a perfect situation in Tennessee and played very well in relatively limited action. The jury is very much out as to whether that production will continue moving forward. No team would give up a first round pick, let alone a top 10 pick for that. As a matter of fact, teams would social distance from even being in that situation so they'd never bring that in unless they were going to sit him on the bench for a long stretch of time. Not saying Allen can't be better than Tannehill, but if he isn't; that's a SERIOUS problem. JA is going to bust his *** because he's got incredible work ethic. He's a great kid who desperately wants to get better, which is far more than you can say about someone like Jay Cutler. But the proof will be in the pudding and that proof SHOULD come to fruition in 2020.
  22. Agreed. I think the Titans just felt comfortable enough with the rest of that REALLY GOOD squad that they decided to stick with Tannehill for now. Not to say he doesn't offer them value; he's good at what that particular team asks him to do. Where he excels is in the screen game, and because of their OL/run game, those are gonna be open. He can find the right guy downfield when the box is stacked and they take a shot. He was really good at protecting the football. So they figured they'd ride it out for a little while. The notion that he's turned into some kind of franchise QB after years of "seasoning" is not a belief I share. They're close and they didn't feel like changing "captains." They'll be looking for their franchise guy soon enough. The one thing I always wanted to know during the Tannehill era was whether he or Moore were going to start against BUF. Felt a lot better about our chances if it was RT.
  23. No doubt. I haven't done nearly as much of my own "scouting"(and I use that term loosely) this season, but the draft appears to be thin at DE. Seen you mention that a few times. I want Clowney to fill the gap and potentially put the D over the top, but maybe that's a pipedream. DE remains my main concern, but we'll see how it all shakes out. I just think we're getting a little carried away with the receiver thing because it was so AWFUL during McD's first two seasons. Not only is it not awful, it's actually now a position of strength.
  24. I remember a time when the narrative was that receivers weren't that important and it was all about the QB and the OLINE. Now, it seems that filling the roster with 5 stud receivers is a must. Neither is correct. But the reality is that the Bills are very much set at receiver. If you look at the position relative to DE, the argument regarding Beasley/Brown being 30 is greatly diminished. Diggs is number 1 receiver entering his prime. When you have a true number 1 in his prime and solid players like Brown and Beasley, you're in good shape. Doesn't mean you don't continue to add to the position, but you don't really want to use your 2nd round pick there. At DE, we don't have that young stud. Addison and Hughes are Beasley/Brown. That's fine. But the DE group doesn't have a DIGGS. This is a terrific question because people are really getting carried away with the idea of creating a Madden like dream team at WR. You've got an entire roster to fill, and it would be foolish to OVER allocate resources to any one of them. It's time for the OC and the QB to get the job done. That's the bottom line.
  25. WR is now a position of strength. If the number 1 player on Beane's board is a WR, go for it. I'd have no problem with them adding an addition WR, but it's in no way a need. The offense NEEDS another back. They could use some help elsewhere. But this take seems over the top. I believe the onus is now on the OC and the QB to show what they can do with a competent supporting cast.
