Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Allen is garbage because he went to Wyoming or for any other reason.  The offense he quarterbacked last season sucked out loud.  Asking Allen to make the jump from one of the worst college offenses in the nation to an NFL offense is way beyond realistic.  It's a terrible mistake by Beane and McD to have only Peterman and Allen as the only QBs on the roster.  Allen is totally unprepared for what he's being asked to do.  He might have a chance to be successful if the offense was otherwise stellar, but there are issues everywhere (except RB).  The Bills spent so much capital to get him and now he's not going to get a chance to develop before he's ruined.  This is on Beane and McD, not Allen.

Sorry I'm merging your very similar point with BullBuchanons. I'd say if the Bills weren't prepared for him to play they wouldn't of put themselves into a situation where he's right behind Nathan Peterman with no one else.

And Mahomes threw for 11,000 yards and 93 TDs to Allen's 5,000 and 44. He also had every physical tool that Allen did, except he knew how to execute. 10x the prospect. He just needed to learn a pro system.

What Mahomes playing for two and half years had more yards and touchdowns playing at TexasTech than Allen did playing for two at Wyoming with a very run heavy offense...I'm shocked. Seriously your points make no sense we shouldn't start Allen who you fear will be bad but hasn't proven it in the NFL yet and instead keep starting Peterman who we know to be bad already.

You're really reaching because you want to believe in Allen.

Really I've seen several people on here seem to believe Allen is garbage because he played for Wyoming. Surely by this logic any starting Quarterback for a number 1 rated college team must be destined for greatness.

I mean it's not like there have been numerous good QBs coming from less than stellar teams.

No, he’s not. Those two played at major colleges and Allen played at Wyoming.  Team offensive rankings for 2017 were:

    USC - 13th

    UCLA - 22nd

    Wyoming - 125th

    (There were only 129 teams.)

I don’t think that Peterman can start another game for the Bills so Allen is the guy moving forward. Also look to see someone like Matt Moore signed on Monday.

and McCarron played for Alabama so clearly he was the guy.

I eagerly await the opportunity for coach McDermott to watch the game tape
to discern which aspects of the teams performance need to be improved.

I think we just need to be patient........................and trust the process.....................

He can watch the game tape and count the first downs.

How can we evaluate Allen based on today? He got in 40 down and Ravens all but called off the dogs.

They sent a few blitzes but wait until we meet San Diego. Its going to be a party. I honestly am not anxious to get to next week.

Did they call off the dogs on the field goal drive, because it seemed like they were trying awfully hard to keep the shut out.

Allen had nearly an entire half, mostly against backups, and didn't do any better. How does he get such blind confidence from folks that he's going to be any sort of improvement?

He needs to sit and practice if he's going to have any hope of living up to the ridiculous expectations that people have for him. He's going to become the next David Carr if he starts this year.

Allen had less than a half and multiple first downs how many did Peterman have?

McD REALLY has to start watching the games he’s coaching. This ‘I have to watch the tape’ bull **** is ridiculous coachspeak.

I'd say it's the same as with McCarron after preseason game 4 he didn't say he was there to get traded but it seemed fairly obvious. He's not just going to throw Peterman under the bus right after the game. He'll probably look at the film make his decision then they'll know the starter as soon as practice starts up again for the next game.
