The funny part is watching the 5 little girls in background.  They all step back in unison.  "This Priest don't play!"

Here is an interesting read on where mass shootings occur:

    https://www.citylab.com/life/2018/03/where-do-mass-shootings-take-place/554555/

"Mass shootings happen less often in both very poor ($30,000 to $40,000) and very rich ($131,000 or more) communities—together, these income brackets account for just under 10 percent of mass shootings. The communities that have witnessed these tragedies are more or less on par with the national average for poverty, too. The poverty rate was 10 percent in the communities where mass shootings have occurred, compared to 11 percent for the nation as a whole."

So to avoid mass shootings I just need to be really rich or really poor....well I can definitely do one of those things.

Santa Fe Tragedy And The Mind Of The Left: A Primer

    By Alex Parker

The Left wants your guns, and they want them now.

The Left wants your guns, and they want them now.

The Left wants your guns, and they want them now.

That is the overwhelming conclusion from the media coverage of Fridays’ shooting in Texas. Horribly, ten were killed at Santa Fe High School; immediately, the Left — in the political, news, and entertainment realms — began their quest for your guns.

    They want your guns.

    {snip}

    And why?

Because, to some people walking around at this very moment, the way to solve the problem of one bad guy with a gun who is willing to break the law by murdering the masses…is to disarm all good people with guns who are willing to follow the law and capable of defending themselves.

The logic of this escapes me.......................And, probably, you.

But somehow, there are brains floating in fluid inside skulls all over this continent, which have reached this conclusion.

    They want your guns.

    And they want them now.

    Anything less is unacceptable.

Therefore, during MSNBC’s reporting on the tragedy today, former ATF agent and NBC law enforcement pundit Jim Cavanaugh used the opportunity to bash President Trump for his expressed sympathy for the victims:

“So these are ongoing, ongoing issues. And you know, we’re just not getting the politicians to stand up. I mean, the President — those are empty words.”

“Empty words,” because you still have your guns.

And the Left want your guns.

Host Ali Velshi agreed with Cavanaugh: “Yep.” The guest continued:

“They don’t walk the talk, they do not walk the talk. They talk, they talk, it’s all empty.”

“[Walking] the talk,” meaning taking your guns.

I wish taking the guns of good people would magically eliminate gun crime committed by bad people. That would eliminate, for self-defense purposes, the need of good people to have guns in the first place.

However, if all the guns are taken from all the good people, bad people are still going to use guns to murder good people. And, if commons sense plays any part, they will kill more good people, because those good people will be unarmed.

At that point, we’ll be in a worse situation than now. And we will have wasted time, effort, and resources on making the world an even less safe place.

Nevertheless, no amount of this rationale will reach the made-up minds to the contrary.

Am I saying our gun laws are perfect? No way. The state of mental health care? Not by a long shot. All I’m saying is this:

    They....................... Want................... Your..................... Guns.

    @Hapless Bills Fan

You asked why I made this thread.  It's so I could take posts like these 3 above that continue to delve further and further in to a poor argument of political crap under the guise of autistic freedom

Between EII who can't help himself, 4kidd jumping in with a moral compass and all to enlighten us,  and warcoded saying whatever he said... Countless others.

It gets old and they cannot honestly discuss these topics because ... Well they suck

I resent that...at least spell my name right.

Didn’t read the full article I see

Apparently research that was being used for that article was more a call for more research as the actual number of defensive uses is not certain. Also it doesn't really tackle the point as gun control is not no guns more hopefully the criminal won't also have a gun in that situation.

I guess my main beef with Libs is that they are constantly trying to control and run everyone else’s lives. I am more libertarian than republican. There are a lot of things the Republican establishment does that I disagree with. I have always believe in live and let live. And the people control the government, not the other way around.

I get that and have to say I'd want the government as out my business as possible. Still some of it does make sense to me I mean to drive a car we have to get a license which indicates we've proven we can safely operate a vehicle because they're dangerous. I can't say I don't think people that own guns shouldn't have to complete some form of gun safety course for their own safety at least.

I have to say when Obamacare happened it really pissed me off. The idea of having to have insurance or pay a fine and comparisons to car insurance bugged me too(huh cars again weird). Eventually I got my head around the idea looking at other countries and realizing it was basically a ****ty tax for ****ty socialized medicine. Staying away from that issue I have to say I wish they had either just gone ahead and done it(socialized medicine) or not because the half-assing they did was never going to solve the problem.

So without guns, suicides stop? More lives are saved by guns than are taken by suicide or accidents.

Really can you provide the numbers on that because that doesn't seem right.

EDIT: I should also add that a big part of this part was the need for better mental health care in this country.

  10. 16 minutes ago, MakeBuffaloGreatAgain said:

There actually isn’t. The end game is total gun control. This is an actual conversation. How many school shooters used extended clips and bump stocks? How many school shootings would have been prevented by proposed gun legislation? And vice versa, how many lives have been saved by citizens using personal firearms?

Now that I think about it, that kid that shot up the school a couple months ago wasn’t disqualified to purchase a gun because Obama made a law that discouraged schools from reporting violent crimes because its racist. Good call.

That would be a neat trick to pull off in a country whose citizens have such a hard on for owning guns. I'd also say a main component is working with providing mental health services which is so often the issue. Not to mention the fact that the other issue with gun ownership is the massive number of suicides and accidents.

here’s an article that can help you out, since you don’t know. If you need my assistance any further, just let me know.

I really appreciate your response. Seriously. I apologize for being aggressive towards you. I see your point. I feel getting rid of Net Neutrality opens up the playing field for a more competitive market, and will drive prices down, and encourage innovation.

Reading that article it seems to say that without Net Neutrality the market will self regulate but I can't say I have any confidence in cable companies for that. They don't seem all that interested in competing with each other now. I might be biased because the fastest internet I can get is 60 megabits when a gigabit is possible.

Amazing how it is only gun free zones that get targeted. Didn’t these murderers read those signs?! At least this last shooter used that horrible AR 15, and not the acceptable revolver and shotgun. Right? Let’s just take all guns away like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and every other tyrannical dictator did. I bet the Jews in Germany were happy they gave up their guns in 1930s Germany.

Wow really how about having an actual conversation about it.

There is clearly a place between where we are now and taking all the guns away.

I’m willing to bet you lean way more to one side. And if given an inch, Che would even seem conservative after all is said and done.

Well I'm willing to acknowledge that I have no way of knowing how exactly you perceive me but I will say I like the competition of capitalism it drives progress and helps provide better services at better prices. I dislike how communism tends towards no motivation to improve your station in life through legitimist means.

More on topic however I'd say I have trouble distinguishing who I like less politicians or cable companies.

I mean yeah I think there should be some regulation to prevent the situation we find ourselves in now where cable companies don't really compete with each other and don't try to improve their service and just work on ways to increase their bottom line through cutting cost or taking control of the market.

I just don't see how they're likely to improve things once Net Neutrality goes away.

I would fault on the side of freedom and less government control over tyranny and more government control every day of the week.

I'd say if absolute Capitalism and absolute socialism(the economy in Communism) don't work then perhaps the solution is somewhere in the middle.

Yup. But a globalist commie like yourself hates anything free market related. If only your utopia of Russia, Cambodia, Venezuela, N. Korea, Cuba, Etc., Etc., Etc., ever actually worked. Your hatred of people wanting to succeed is terrible. Im just glad not everyone thinks like you, wishing the entire world was poor.

Yes when has capitalism to an extreme ever backfired...surely not within the last decade...and government intervention would definitely not be necessary bail it out I mean that'd just be embarrassing.

Breakdown in society. God is slowly being eliminated from our lives, so something has to fill the void. The left is doing its hardest to break up families and promote immorality. Horribly tragic and heartbreaking, but not surprising.

June 11th is the date... it's a valid question...Verizon, ATT, CenturyLink/Level3, Comcast, Charter, etc. have alluded to some commitment that they won't manage traffic any differently than they do today.  However, I don't know whether I believe that if a provider has a competitive movie streaming service that they will treat Netflix packets the same as their own movie streaming packets.  Will they upgrade routers and switches in SuperNaps that peer with Netflix??   They could also make NetFlix pay for priority access and then Netflix passes this along to subscribers.  That's what this comes down to-- do you trust the large ISPs to treat all traffic the same even if they offer their own competitive service or see a revenue stream from charing content providers.

They're paying a shitload for lobbyists against Net Neutrality for them to do nothing when it's gone.
