Beane was too cheap …Edwards obviously going to bet on himself to get paid more next year .. They have now signed both Rapp and Edwards to less money than what they paid Hyde last year … They could easily still make another add if they wanted from Free Agency and probably still be some margin under what they paid Poyer and Hyde last year

The Bills have lost two vets that could play C … and McGovern is a question mark as to how he will fit into the position.. I think it’s likely Beane adds another FA signing here, given that two guys have moved on.. Joe Marino has mentioned former Rams C Brian Allen as someone who could be a candidate … I note he is still available … Started every game in the Rams 2021 SB year when Kromer was there … the Rams later signed him to starter money but he has had several injuries since …and they cut him a month ago.. This is a similar path that David Edwards walked on his way to the Bills … it could be Allen could sign a similiar deal around $2m that Edwards did last year to try and get his career back on track,,, plus they need a second Allen on the team since Kyle left …

I’m generally happy with what Beane is paying out so far … don’t think anyone has been paid “overs” in terms of the new to the team FA signings ...perhaps Rapp got overpaid .. but they obviously like him and are prepared to give him a chance and if it doesn’t work out then they can move on after 1 year … They aren’t going to get every guy they go after when they are tight with the money

Edwards came and signed … and Blackmon came and went … he must have a Plan B

I mention Poyer to remind people he came here with modest expectations… at a similar stage of his career …. if there is one position where McDermott can get a guy to his maximum level it’s Safety … I wish it was DE instead… I expect Edwards to be $3-3.5m … he doesn’t deserve a haircut after his play last year IMO… hope it works out and he signs for more here on his next deal like Poyer did..

Reminds me of what people said when Poyer signed here … Interesting…The Chiefs paid him $3m last year … did they overpay him? I don’t think they were complaining when the SB came around…

Edwards is better than Rapp… You would have thought his agent would point to Rapps deal and said pay us more next season.

Hyde should not be back IMO… He shouldn’t be mucking around any longer with that neck problem … particularly in a limited role moving forward

Seems likely … the drafted safety will be given a chance to compete as well …Im sure they will identify a good prospect in Rounds 4-5 Would have preferred a better option over Edwards .. they had their chance to get a guy around $5m
