Right!  Considering all of the +.500 teams we've beaten, makes perfect sense.

We barely eke games or against the Giants and Tampa, but lookout KC and Dallas.

Not trying to make light of you, but these posts that point out what other teams haven't done with claims that we'll surpass them, despite the fact that we haven't done them either, are always amusing.

It'll be half remarkable if we can simply beat the Chargers, Pats, and Miami again and finish with a +.500 record ourselves.

Not one of those games is a gimme for us.

I think the point is Miami has not beat a team .500 or better (at the time they played them) dating back to Week 3 of 2022 against Buffalo - the heatstroke game.

Which, for reference, we’ve done 10 times in the same span. It doesn’t mean we’re running the table, but it also means there’s a good chance Miami doesn’t either.

Can you even remember the last time a kicker was "iced?"  That ***** doesn't work.  Who cares if Allen threw an int?  He also threw 2 TDs and ran for 2 more. Allen was the reason we were winning that game.  You let your elite QB be an elite QB.  It was a bad call all around.  and yes, McD does tell the offense to burn clock.  Thats why while on offense that drive McD had the playcard over his mouth talking.  Why would he need to hide his mouth while we are on offense.  Thats McD's call whether to be aggressive or to be conservative and try and burn clock.  Thats exactly what happened.

How many games have we lost like this?  The dude is not good enough.  I am tired of excuses.  Eventually it's a pattern.  That pattern is apparent.

I actually can… the exact same scenario played itself out in the Jaguars/Texans game yesterday.

Texans trailing the Jaguars by 3 points. Incomplete pass stopped the clock with 34 seconds left. Texans lined up for a 58 yard FG and Doug Pederson called his second timeout to ice the kicker. Kicker hit the crossbar, game over.

Of course. But isn't the initial point Beane should get some sort of bonus for drafting Singletary and Moss based on their performances this year? I'd submit that is because they are both now in role they are best suited to which is a role not worthy of a day 2 pick.

I think Moss is close to bust status as a Bills draft pick. They gave up on him early year 3. Singletary isn't that he was just an average pick and an average player.

I understand better now and agree with you.

No. My position was when someone other than the team who drafted them took a view on the value of both Singletary and Moss they concluded they are backups.

Personally I was surprised Singletary didn't find a starting job somewhere. It was always my contention he was a bottom end level starter and ideally suited to a change of pace role, but I expected him to find one of the 32 starting jobs. He didn't. His best offer was backup in Houston.

Beane drafted Singletary and Moss hoping that they would start in the NFL, but Houston and Indianapolis were able to make those determinations years later with NFL tape. With the same tape, Brandon Beane also made the same determination.

I get what you’re saying, but is that necessarily a fair evaluation? These teams are making decisions with way different sets of facts and information on the player.

If you're not getting the answers you want from me, that's too bad.

Again, he's playing poorly and not acting like a Captain.

    Good bye.

I’m trying to understand. You’re the one who said he’s not necessarily squandering the opportunity with his play… so I don’t understand why you keep bringing up his play?

I just want it to make sense.

Yes, I spend lots of time in the Bills locker room but your question is poor.

To the bolded, Davis is not providing results... either individual or team.

And as a person selected as a Captain by his teammates, it's a bad look being a coward after a loss and refusing to speak with the media... so there's that too.

Any other questions, Two Dogs *****?

You already said he wasn’t necessarily squandering the Captain with his play. These are your exact words “It's an opportunity that he is so far squandering... and not necessarily by his play.” So you bringing up individual or team results this time around seems irrelevant to me.

That leaves what he’s providing in the locker room/to his teammates. Not speaking to the media is an isolated incident for him, but definitely a bad look. What else?

For me, once he was named a Team Captain, that changed things.

It's an opportunity that he is so far squandering... and not necessarily by his play.

This has been a dark season so far and he has not brought anything to change that.

If you’re not penalizing him for his play, it sounds like you’re in the locker room regularly to glean some insight?

This seems like a really cool opportunity for you to let us in on the inner workings of the team. What exactly is Gabe Davis failing to provide for his teammates in the locker room?

Tua's turnovers are mainly the result of his own limitations, which opponents exploit.  Josh does not have those limitations, so his turnovers are the result of him not playing to his full potential (whether that's his fault or his coaches' fault) and not something the opponent is doing to him.

Hence, Tua is fulfilling more of his potential than Josh is, and so he "looks" like he's playing better than Josh, even though Josh at 80% efficiency is still better than Tua at 100% efficiency.  And that's why he's getting more MVP talk.  Well, that and the fact his team has more wins.

It’s all narrative driven. Hard to get people to move off their spot.

Teams were “Tanking for Tua” the year he came out and the year Josh Allen came out he was considered “a parody of a QB prospect”

Leading the league in turnovers isn't something we can just brush aside though.

Nobody was praising Jameis Winston for being #1 in passing yards & #2 in TDs when he had 33 TDs to 30 INTs. Thankfully Josh isn't to that point in a single season, but it's still bad enough to where people dismiss the TDs due to the turnovers.

I mean that’s fine, dismiss the TDs. Here we sit and Josh has played in 11 games, Mahomes and Hurts are in the midst of their 10th. They’re the front runners for MVP.

Josh Allen 29 TD and 15 TO in 11 games which is good for 1.93 TD for every 1 turnover.

Jalen Hurts 23 TD and 12 TO in 9.75 games which is good for 1.91 TD for every 1 turnover.

Patrick Mahomes 19 TD and 11 TO in 9.75 games which is good for 1.71 TD for every 1 turnover.

Josh left the field with a lead and less than 2 minutes on the clock in two different games this year and didn’t see the ball again. They lost those games. That’s the difference in the narrative and it’s not even his fault.

I still wonder if he originally hurt it when he tried to get involved in the Brown scuffle in the end zone a few weeks back.  Tried to run in and throw the shoulder on a line man.

He didn’t. He hurt it before that, he got hit/pushed on a throw and came up wincing while shaking it out.

Hard to tell as it happened, but they showed a replay that was more clear.

what is Elam on IR with?

    Depends on who you ask.

If you ask Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott, they’ll say it’s an ankle injury that’s been lingering for a few weeks per the injury report.

If you ask folks on this message board, they’ll say it’s bustitis.

Umm Carr stinks, and Jimmy G. Was a winner his entire career till Vegas. His issue is he is made of glass. So it isn’t the same thing at all.

Players in Ne Loved playing for him, I think the “ass” thing is a fan perspective especially in Indy where he said yes then jilted them at the last minute.

I don’t understand firing the GM. The Raiders have some amazing talent on that team, IMO he did his job.

Jimmy G has made a career off of being the guy who was drafted to be the heir to Brady.

He’s a fine game manager/ball distributor. He’s nothing more than that - he won because he’s been surrounded by two very good coaches up to this point.

Players in NE loved McD because he wasn’t Belichick. Nobody in Denver liked him because he was a total ####### (articles everywhere) and it sounds like he wasn’t revered in LV.

How does this help our porous defense? Seems like Beane is just doing this just to show he's doing something...

Yeah, that’s it. I’m sure every GM sits in their office going “I better pretend like I’m working.” and then plays speed dial roulette with an agent.

    🤔

I propose a “Josh Allen Cam” on the sideline to track how many asses he pats and words he yells.

I mean what the ***** people, just because the camera cuts to him for 15 seconds and he’s looking at an iPad or staring ahead doesn’t mean *****. You do realize how much time there is on the sidelines? But let’s just hone in on 15 seconds with no context.

Depth is great when you have it…Unfortunately, Elam’s not even good enough to be depth…

With 2 starters injured vs the Jags, Elam still got benched…

So now, he’s essentially become less valuable to the team than the ball boy…

    Holy Hyperbole Batman.

He’s cheap, young and talented. There’s clearly an issue and some sort of disconnect, but I’m not sure trading him helps this team.

It's simple: McDermott is in the bottom tier of mediocre coaches. He's a great culture and clubhouse guy, but he's a bad gameday coach and a poor talent evaluator. If he didn't have Josh Allen, he would have been out of a job years ago.

I hope Ted Lasso pays him a residual because I'm fairly certain he's the inspiration for the title character.

    Let’s see these tiers…

Probably because Daboll feels like he should be the one still in Buffalo rather than McD. After all Daboll is basically Buffalo’s son, along with the likes of Gronk and UB players that are actually good and want to be here ( Khalil Mack). Imagine if we actually kept our own.

Yeah, because that’s how it works. We should trade Josh and nab Chad Kelly from the Argonauts while we’re at it.

You really have to distinguish the difference between regular season  and post season.

McD has been an excellent regular season winner. I'd be a fool to argue otherwise. Heck, he has even gone into Arrowhead with good recent success.

My contention with McD is more post season success. Think Marty S if you well as a reference. I'm not going to go into detail here. It would be like beating a dead horse. The record speaks for himself and you should trust your eyes here. Playoff McD is mediocre, often out coached, and his team has vastly under performed.

In short if you value great regular season records and playoff births then McD is your guy. No need for a change here.

If you value playoff success, high win rates, deep progression in the playoffs, and a team representing the AFC McD shouldn't be your guy. He's proven for six years that he can't get it done. Just the facts here. The last two years have been collosal failures that fail directly on him.

    Hope that clarifies my viewpoint.

It took Marty S 10 seasons to win 4 playoff games. 10 SEASONS! He didn’t string together two playoff wins until his 10th season. Andy Reid only did it three times in 14 seasons in Philadelphia and it took him 6 before he did it in Kansas City.

So your guys are Andy Reid (Mahomes era) and Bill Belichick (who McDermott stomped in their one playoff matchup)… McVay or Shanahan (please don’t forget his role in the Falcons Super Bowl implosion) ?

I have a hard time including Zac Taylor. Not touching John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin or Matt LaFleur because I’m not convinced they’re able to elevate like you’re asking for. Who else?

That’s what, 4 guys who have (objectively) been able to do it do it better than Sean? The likelihood of finding them is slim, that’s why those guys usually stick in once place for a long time.

The only guy who may become available is Belichick and he’d want to control the entire show… which isn’t going too well right now. Reid and Shanahan will be there as long as they’d like and McVay will go from the Rams sideline to the booth.

What first year coaching candidates are out there that can go and elevate this team? What about retreads? Who is out there that has shown the ability to get a team over the top?

Defenses are doubling Diggs and no one else can get open against man coverage. The Giants secondary is pretty good but not that good. We just don't have the horses.

Diggs was actually open there after Josh scrambled. He wasn’t Miami Dolphins open, but he was open, Josh just overthrew him.
