I understand we let guys go. How many new starters we got so far?

WR2 will be a new starter, but likely a high pick.

One new starter on the O-Line but two position changes if it's true McGovern will move to OC.

    Two new starting safeties.

    4 total, so we're returning 18/22.

If Buffalo signs Simmons, I will be 100% convinced that they (Beane and McDermott) longer have any semblance of a plan and are officially throwing darts hoping to save their jobs.

I promise I do underststand, I also understand as well.

It’s a plenty reasonable comp. Schultz is a comparable player to Dawson Knox, their spots on the depth chart are a product of their environment and not their talent. The Bills have two starting caliber TE, Houston has one.

I’ll ask again, would Dalton Schultz be TE1 here in Buffalo?

This. I catch ***** for repeating on here how great the 49ers front office is. No one is close. I’m not saying they only hire minority coordinators just to get them hired elsewhere for comp picks.. but I’m also not saying they don’t do that. They have the best roster in football and they’re LOADED with picks. Don’t forget them fleecing Dallas by getting a 4th rounder for Trey Lance, a guy who will never take a snap for them outside of a Dak injury. O line help, another CB and a DL opposite Bosa is all they need and they’ve got lots of chances in this draft to hit on those spots plus trade up if they want. Not to mention they always make big moves in free agency so I fully expect them to make a big move here before the draft too. There’s a reason they are the favorites to win it all again next season too.

Yeah, glad they recouped pennies on the dollar with that trade. They botched the most important position in the game multiple times until lucking into Purdy.

    49ers get:

    2021 first-round pick (No. 3 overall)

    Dolphins get:

    2021 first-round pick (No. 12 overall)

    2022 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)

    2022 third-round pick (No. 101 overall)

    2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)

They’re well run, but they’ve made some massive mistakes too. For as much flack as Beane gets for his Day 2 RB love, you should see the Lynch/Shannahan bungling of Day 2 picks on RB. They’re not great early in the draft all together.

Maybe so but the cap problem was of Beane's own making. Can we cut Beane instead?

What’s your solution? Not sign players to make the team competitive?

    It’s cyclical, man.

So you are saying while Beane was under contract with the Panthers he was conspiring with McDermott on who to draft in 2017? And then following along this line of thinking that would make Beane also complicit in passing on drafting Mahomes.

What you are suggesting would be the biggest scandal in NFL history.  Far worse that spygate or deflategate.

Ay mi madre. Look back at my original post… did I say “He” in reference to Beane or “they” in reference to McBeane? I acknowledged that it wasn’t Beane who was running the 2017 draft. You’re welcome for the free pronouns lesson.

I understand it’s your schtick to point out the same tired narratives, but I’m not the guy to do that with.

Can you define SB run for us?

Even the biggest homers on here would hardly claim getting bounced out of the division round in the playoffs three years in a row(twice at home) as SB runs.

    Obligatory Beane didn't draft in 2017 comment...sorry

I have a hard time believing that.

I promise I realize exactly what I’m typing.

McConkey has this uncanny juking ability where he can start and stop on a dime juking out defenders making them miss

He kind of runs like Josh...

There were 3-4 fake slides on that run alone... cheater.

I’m talking cap situation becoming a problem consistently with the bad contracts and poor drafting. I like Beane but I think he needs to do better.

Still waiting for someone to prove this is true?

They have 2+ starters coming out of every draft and various role players lol

They couldn't be where they are if they were drafting poorly - not finding superstars in the 2nd half of RD1 isn't poor drafting either.

    2017

Plus they just signed a punter that we recently used a draft pick for and will pay him about 5 times less than their current punter, and we know his leg is bigger than any in the league.  As much as people hate to see the Mcbeane bashers, we feel the same with the defenders, joking off every move that's bad for the Bills as "nothing to see here"

Yeah, it’s because most McBeane bashers say stupid ***** that isn’t a realistic or honest an assessment. The defenders do it too. Nobody wants to paint the full picture, they just want to paint their picture.

Exhibit A: Referencing the draft pick spent on a Matt Araiza as a blunder. As if McBeane missed wildly and there weren’t outside legal implications that nobody inside of One Bills Drive could control.

They had zero ability to hold him on the roster as it would have been a massive distraction until things were sorted out and he wasn’t eligible for the Commissioner’s Exempt List.

Here we are over a year later, things cleared up, and Kansas City took a chance. THEY’RE PLAYING CHESS!

If McD craps the bed a 6th straight time in the playoffs,  I'm firing him immediately and putting Ben Johnson on speed dial.

Ben Johnson is getting reviews of being a recluse that believes he’s worth $15M per year. Harbaugh got $16M.

That should be perfect to lead an organization.

Diggs and Allen definitely fell out and it happened in season in 2022. I was told that by two people independently of each other LAST offseason.

There was a point where the two were barely on speaking terms. I think they managed to piece some sort of relationship back together for the actual season in 2023. I wasn't told that but just looking on as a fan. But I don't think it was close to how tight they were before and I am not sure it ever will be.

I wish I knew what Diggs was doing. He wasn’t happy with Kirk Cousins in Minnesota. Okay, fine, I can see why that would be the case. Now he’s not happy with Josh Allen in Buffalo. What’s his end-game here?

Did he not watch what the Cowboys did with Dak down the stretch? Eagles with Hurts? Ravens with Lamar?

Unless he ends up with Mahomes in KC (highly unlikely), he’s not going to end up somewhere with equal or higher level quarterbacking.

He’s not happy with McDermott? Sure. I know a lot of people here aren’t too. I once again ask… Mike McCarthy? Nick Sirianni? I mean come on, Diggs.

That's not what I'm doing (see below), hope you enjoyed that show.

When WR is chronically a position of need and it's not addressed in the draft...it's because the GM is very good at assessing the WR position?  He just can't tell when he needs one?

    How does that make sense.

And 2 guys in 7 years isn't much of a track record--especially if the better one is likely gone and the other has 65 targets in 2 years.

You're moving the goalposts... color me surprised. Your original quote, in the context of the draft, was that "Beane has shown no aptitude for evaluating WR talent."

Now you're shifting to his ability to assess the WR position and when he needs one, which factors in all facets of roster constructions.

Davis isn’t a WR1.  Davis was a decent 2 (despite the sentiment here). Shakir is a complimentary guy. 2 decent picks in 7 years I guess.

the need is in the top spot.

Do you expect to find a WR1 on Day 3?

45 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said:

    two guys. 7 years

It doesn’t mean he lacks the aptitude for evaluating them. Your statement looks stupid considering those “two guys in 7 years” have been pretty good relative to their draft position.
