Fair enough. And that's a great picture on the site :). So then we've established he's inaccurate in windy conditions. So, since you suggested I "try again", I looked further into this...
Allen's accuracy when playing on the road: 58%
http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/splits/_/id/3918298/josh-allen
Laramie's wind conditions vs. Norman's wind conditions:
https://weatherspark.com/y/3574/Average-Weather-in-Laramie-Wyoming-United-States-Year-Round
https://weatherspark.com/y/8229/Average-Weather-in-Norman-Oklahoma-United-States-Year-Round
Laramie's windier, but not by that much...Louisville and Los Angeles are much less (I'd say obviously, but I did not realize how windy Wyoming was, so research was definitely vital). Buffalo actually lands between Norman and Los Angeles, wind-wise.
I will admit that I feel a bit dumb on the whole wind in Wyoming. However, looking into it has made me more resistant to the idea of Josh Allen. If he dropped and we took him while also able to draft a bunch of other players, then I'm all for his potential, but trading up to 2 as Ryan suggests and giving up on a bunch of draft picks, particularly considering last year we might have hit on a starting cornerback 1 and a starting left tackle (and the book is still out, borderline miraculously, on Zay Jones) on the picks in the 22-65 range, is questionable. I'd like the four chances to draft potential starters to help him if we take a guy who most experts label an ultimate boom-or-bust guy as Allen.
For the record, Tyrod Taylor had a 62% completion pct in Buffalo last year.

Thanks for taking the time to look.
Having spent time in Wyoming, I can assure you that Laramie and Cheyenne are both very windy at times. How windy a place is should be factored into a completion % as part of the equation along with type of offense, quality of targets to throw to, etc. Not sure what the weighting should be, but it should be a piece of the pie. I'm not saying Allen would have been a 65% passer in SoCal, but we'll never know.
I also don't think it wise to sell the farm and move up to #2 to take any of the top 4 rated QBs, including Allen. However, if Allen were to get by Denver @ #5, the Bills should take a chance on him as I think he'd be a great fit in Buff. He will need a year or maybe even two to get comfortable and that's OK with A.J. in the house. I still have Darnold @ 1, Rosen @ 2, Mayfield @ 3, Barkley @ 4, and Allen @ 5 in my mock.

So let's get a guy whose accuracy has been terrible in normal conditions. I'm thinking maaaaaybe, we should not listen to Rexy.

Does Tb12 consist of screaming your childhood frustrations naked to other people in a lean-to, then smearing chocolate cake with “TB for MVP” written in chocolate on each other? Then it’s nap/milk/reflection time.
Ive heard the efficacy is off the charts. Glad we have TB and the trainer guy that wears baggy dad jeans to revolution the NFL. Glad the regimen came to you in a dream Tom! Truly the work of angels, or angels inducing heart burns so he’d wake and think of it.

Why do so many people have Allen rated so high? His completion % is low, nothing I I see in him tells me he's going to be successful in the NFL. But, what the hell do I know?
You know about the same as the rest of us which is only what we read.

My understanding is that he is not a partyer he is apparently more of a play video games at home guy.
You don't really believe that a 22-year-old Mayfield with $ is gonna sit home and play video games, do ya ?

IMO, just a matter of time before an incident with Baker if things don't go his way on the field. He's not Manziel, but has a little Johnny Football in him.

Just a few QB's I will name to show 6'1 is not to small
Drew Brees 6'
Russell Wilson 5'10
Aaron Rogers 6'2
Dak Prescott 6'2
Baker Mayfield 6'1
Think we are being over critical over an inch or 2? Is it now how there motion is in the pocket and there foresight knowing where the player is going to be and where the ball has to be more important?
just a wondering question.

I won't say that yet, but the comparison is there. If you are a GM and coach you just cannot ignore the accuracy and completion percentage.
The things I like about Allen though are:
1) Played in a complete Pro-style offense (so should be familiar with EP, WC, AC offensive concepts so if he reaches his potential he can shine in any offense)
2) Crazy arm talent
3) I like his ability to move, particularly behind a Bills OL that's not all that great at pass pro
4) Throws the routes on the perimeter on a damn rope
5) Hard worker and competitor
6) Lots of tools to work with
7) Seems like a great locker room guy
8) Ran offense at the line of scrimmage making checks and protection calls - didn't need to look to the sideline for the change of play by a coach (Baker).
Things I am very concerned with:
1) Accuracy and completion percentage - Again, Boller even shined at his pro day and he had bad WR's too, but nothing changed in the NFL for him.
2) Hasn't matured in knowing when to take some heat off of passes (contributes to #1)
3) Majority of his passes are/were down the field. Not much in the quick game. Can he make those throws accurately on a consistent basis (given 2 and 1)?
4) Who is he when the lights are on? He looks fantastic in shorts. But in game situations, you ask who the hell is this guy?
5) Does have a tendency to get stuck on reads when bullets are firing and relies on his arm strength to force passes into windows that are not open. He did get better this year though but it's a trait that lingers.
6) Did not shine vs Power teams.
7) Needs great assistant and position coaches around him to make sure he gets the lessons he needs. Probably needs to sit an entire season or more.
Good analysis on both sides ...
As for your concerns, I am not worried about the completion percentage due to point #3 and his lack of quality receivers. And IMO, he can handle the quick game. He has been said to be good on the whiteboard, so his football IQ is up there. He did look very good in the Senior Bowl.
And I'm ok with him sitting 2 seasons if necessary - I don't think any of these QBs are ready for prime time and I certainly wouldn't throw him behind a sub-par Bills o-line.
But as I've said before, I don't see him lasting past Denver @ #5. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up there and being able to pick Elway's brain is a big win. I know, I know ... Payton Lynch, Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler. But I think Allen is a better prospect than any of those guys.

I think he could. I mean he has the most upside. BUT he also has tremendous concerns that if ignored is going to get someone fired. If you are in the top 5 and take him there are just some things you cannot ignore because if you do, you are a goner and you set the franchise back.
Same could be said for any of the top 4 QBs. Move up for a boatload of picks and if the guy isn't your franchise QB, see ya.

Here's all you and all need to see from AJ.
He is not afraid to throw to a WR that is covered 1 on 1. Tyrod Taylor's biggest problem as a NFL QB.
If I had to make a decision based on that video, no way am I trading up and I wouldn't even draft a QB in the 1st. Kid looks good.

Assuming we don't get one of the big 4 QBs, are we a playoff team with A.J. ? Or are we the 2017 Browns and the #1 seed to get Drew Luck, Jacob Eason, or Jarrett Stidham next year ?
Is it worth even using a draft pick on Rudolph or Jackson ?

Mentioned this morning per chatter picked up at the owners meetings in Orlando and that Mayfield is a Smokescreen.
Perhaps Trepasso isn't as crazy as everyone thinks he is.
I would go with the process of elimination and assume the Broncos love the guy that hasn't been mentioned as the one they love.

Keenum got a "bridge-level" contract.
Lynch has already been labeled a bust.
Kelly was a Day 3 pick and will be lucky to make the roster.
The Broncos are in a great position to just sit and wait. That was the purpose of signing Keenum. Not to be their long-term plan.
If the guy they like falls, they will snatch him up. If not, there are plenty of other guys (Nelson, Barkley, Chubb) who will definitely be there at #5.
Agree and I'm guessing it's Allen. Maybe he's there at 5.

How do they even do upper jaw reconstruction surgery ? Go in through the upper palate of the mouth ?

Manziel had comparisons to Flutie, and I think he needs to follow his route to the NFL, via the CFL. Manziel will not prove himself carrying a clipboard. He can be a starter in the CFL, and hopefully, for his sake, can find some of that college magic. I went to A&M, and saw more of him than likely anyone else on this board. He did make his reputation by throwing jump balls to Evans, throwing bubble screens, and by scrambling. He needs experience to prove himself, and that will only come in the CFL.
Agreed, he needs game experience and he would be the backup anywhere he goes. Now if a starter got hurt ...

Gonna keep saying it in every thread that discusses the Browns as I have been for about 2 weeks.... all signs point to this even for the armchair QB. Dorsey was reported months ago to prefer Allen. They trade for a starter in TT. They call TT their starter for the year. Allen needs work and is a project, he sits for the year while TT plays. Drafting Darnold to ride the pine for a year makes no sense in light of any of this. Certainly could fall in love with Darnold and draft him but my money's on Allen.
You could say the same thing about the Giants with Manning, Jets with McCown/Bridgewater, and Broncos with Keenum.

Really starting to think Josh Rosen is going to drop on Draft Night and maybe we should wait before trading up.
Can't see the Giants taking him. Jets love Allen and Broncos love Mayfield.
I think it'll turn out the other way around.

A guy just called into Bull & Fox out of Cleveland and claimed to be a family friend of the Rosens. He said that what Mora said is calculated because Rosen wants to go to NY and he is working that angle behind the scenes talking to both NY teams.
Guaranteed McBeane already knows this and Rosen is not on their radar. Mayfield or Allen.

Either that or they trade Lynch knowing they're going to draft Allen.
