I disagree.  He got some much needed game experiance.  You can see the physical ability.  Also you can see the areas he needs to work on.  At this point of the year Allen would just be playing and trying to make things happen for an offense that lacks play makers.  The injury in my estimation is a blessing.  He can watch and see what decisions Anderson makes and why.  Pick up somethings and know how to better attack when he is back in there.

If Anderson's decisions are worth watching ... we're not talking Aaron Rodgers here.

I just can't say enough how much I believe this will be a blessing in disguise for Allen. It's entirely possible this elbow injury saves his career.

Josh was sinking out there and on the verge of losing his teammates' confidence as well as his own. He wasn't improving despite what some fans had deluded themselves into thinking. Now he gets to go back to the drawing board while he rehabs. He has time to go through his throws and identify where he was messing up mechanically. He can see all the opportunities he was missing with open receivers, how he could have manipulated the defense, where he had additional time in the pocket, etc. He'll get to watch another QB go through game prep and debrief. For the first time all year, he'll get to look backward and with the benefit of hindsight  he'll improve moving forward.

By the time Allen comes back he'll be a better QB with a renewed appreciation for the opportunity life has thrown his way. He probably still won't be good enough, but he'll be much better prepared and with his confidence intact. He'll probably start to look like an NFL QB.

Is that before or after the Bills start looking like an NFL team ?

QBs today who passed for over 300 yards, include:

    Jameis Winston

    Mitch Trubisky

    BROCK !@#$ING OSWEILER

Josh Allen, who actually played fairly well - had 80-something yards, including two longish pass plays that were called back because of stupid penalties.

It's called catch and run yardage, something the Bills' receivers don't seem to do well.

The majority of posters on this board would have proclaimed Elway a total bust and called for a complete FO firing.

I had just moved to Colorado just before the 1983 season.

Elway was a "fawn in the headlights".

Josh Allen is NOT going to be a "game manager" type of QB.

Build a team around Allen not around the scrubs we got now on offense.

To be honest - 1984 was better but not fantastic. Allen will take time - McBeane needs to get him some help.
