    That 'cocky punk' Baker Mayfield.

Walk on player to Texas Tech when every major program passed on him

Transferred to Oklahoma and just became a Heisman Trophy winner

'Well he has a strut in his step, what a cocky SOB.' So did Jim Kelly. He was an @ss till he grew up.

Imagine being a 2.0 GPA high schooler and becoming a neurosurgeon after finally being challenged in an elite school.

I want Baker Mayfield more than any other QB in this draft. He is Buffalo and WNY personified.

Overlooked, left behind and discounted. Yet continues to fight, and will be successful regardless of the odds.

TBD can be Josh Rosen crazy, but If Darnold, Rosen and Allen go by #5, then by all means do everything you can to get this guy.

He has 'It' and I think he would fit into Buffalo very quickly and be a legend when it is all said and done.

Like Mark Twain said, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

And oh yeah, this arrogant jerk found the time to call McKenzie Asher's family within 48 hours of winning a Heisman and knowing she died.

Evander Kane did a lot for kids too but liked the nightlife a little too much. The Pegulas don't need any more off field distractions..

"If Allen wants to be a top 5 or top 10 type pick, he has to improve his overall game by developing his footwork and accuracy and decision-making. It’s a fact that quarterbacks who have accuracy problems in college don’t become accurate as NFL passers. Because of his lack of college experience, he is still a work in progress. Yes, there is loads of talent to work with, but that talent needs to be refined. It’s up to him to make those improvements in his game."

Like I said in an earlier post he is working on his footwork.

I would hate it if he became a NY Jet. Although they would probably ruin him there is still a chance he overcomes their inability to coach and becomes another Big Ben.

I'm sure the Steelers would be thrilled if Allen slipped down to their draft position or they could move up a few spots to get him as the heir apparent to Big Ben.

When Mayock talked about Rosen there was a subtle difference when comparing him to the qbs you listed. He was making the point that he was uncomfortable with his ability to protect himself. He made the comparison to Bradford in that he is vulnerable to getting hit with regularity and being more prone to being injured. Marino rarely ran yet he quickly got rid of the ball.

There were a variety of reasons why RG III failed, at least so far. One of the main reasons is that he didn't know how to protect himself. He had to be taught how to slide and go down. He too often made decisions of extending plays and refusing to go down, run out of bounds or simply throw it away. These were issues of judgment on the field.

I consider Rosen the most polished passer in this draft class. I would be ecstatic if the Bills were able to select him. But that is not to say that Mayock's point of view is without merit or consideration.

Don't want Rosen - one head hit away from being out of football and a spoiled entitled SoCal attitude in a blue collar town.

Have you watched Darnold? I don't get where the hype with him comes from.  I like to watch whole games of the players and I couldn't  find one where he looked good.  Someone said the Penn  St Rose bowl game...But  he stunk!  Then I watched a video of his career highlights and not even they were good!

Rosen meanwhile is like watching a God amongst mear mortals.  Absolutely perfect in everything he does.  I haven't read a SINGLE thing online from media "experts", anonymous scout quotes, or even posters on this board, who can point to anything he does wrong on the field.  It's all like, his parents are rich and some people don't  like him... big deal.  Concussions I can get, but that is such an unknown. Darnold could get lit up in his first start and Bam, now he is concussion prone etc etc.

Ralph Wilson will be smiling down on us all if Rosen ends up in Buffalo.

Yeah, Rosen never does anything wrong ...

First they were "loaded." They clearly weren't.

Without Newton they're a .500 team and fighting to be Bowl Eligible. Newton carried that team.

Josh Allen was just a guy on a garbage team in the Mountain West against garbage competition.

    Just putting info out...

Can't entirely disagree with his accuracy statement- every year you see teams take chances ona guy with so-so accuracy and with other desired traits go to teams who think they can fix the accuracy issue (mechanics) almost never works out....

Yep, appreciate the info. Russell Wilson had some accuracy issues his 1st 3 years at NC State before transferring to Wisconsin. Wilson must've fixed something or did he just have a better set of receivers or throw shorter passes @ Wisconsin ?

Stafford improved by almost 10 percentage points from soph to senior. Allen is coming out a year early, so we'll never know how his senior year might have been.

If Allen throws 500 passes in a year in the NFL, to go from 56 to 60% is 20 more completions. I'd like to think an NFL team with better receivers might help those numbers. I'd be equally concerned with Allen's ability to read defenses and avoid interceptions.

Listening to Greg Gabriel on Buffalo Sports page now and he is killing Allen...Basically confirming all of the concerns every poster on here has. Terrible against top competition, accuracy issues might be tied to footwork, but unlikely to be fixed etc...

He said it's up to Allen to fix hi footwork issues here ... mechanics in any sport can be fixed with enough proper reps. See pro golf as an example.

Same here but i see some pretty clear differences in the two. Wasn't Johnny Football a star coming out of HS? Mr. Football and all. Where as Baker had to walk on to his college team. One took his talents for granted. The other worked hard to develop his skills and earn the starting job.

Maybe so, but immature is immature. He might grow out of that type of behavior, but he might not given a wheelbarrow full of cash. Rosen has a sense of entitlement with the lineage he has, hot tub in the dorm room, yard decorations, etc. All of that crap may be fine at the college level, but might not fly in the pros. I don't see it from Darnold or Allen.

Nothing to do with wealth. Poster I was quoting was holding the desire to be famous against Mayfield and him not sticking around or being all in with Buffalo. The same can at least be said and held against Rosen as a possible negative.

I don't want any QB with a personality remotely similar to Johnny Manziel, be it Rosen or Mayfield.

Behind Baker ... seriously from a guy who's never played a game in the NFL ?

  10. I'm in the minority here, but I like Allen and think he can be a good if not great QB at the NFL level. Folks say you can't teach throwing mechanics at the NFL level but I disagree. You change patterns with repetitive work and maybe his change is minor. Pro golfers do it all the time - look at how many times Tiger Woods has changed his swing. Matthew Stafford has made the adjustment just fine and improved his accuracy.

I'd rather have the humble farm kid from the small town with the big upside than Baker Manziel ( I need a reality pre-draft show), or Josh "Hot Tub" Rosen who's a big head hit from being out of the league, or small hands whirlybird Darnold who has not played much in crappy weather.

    Allen can be Marino?

Wow, please step away from the computer.

Did you say Marino could be Staubach ?

I get it.  People in NFL see that kind of arm.  If he goes top 5 that is why  He has a high probabilty of busting.  If he doesnt hes incredible.  He is 50/50 great subpar.  His ceiling is what I said.  Because his probabilty of Busting i wont trade up for him, i do understand why a team would take a chance on him.

So do I and I can see him backing up Keenum for a couple of years in Denver.

If I'm the Giants, I absolutely want a 1st next year if I pass on a QB this year.  If I'm the Bills, three 1st rounders is all I'm giving up.  If Giants want next years 1st, which could be a top 5 pick, no way I'm throwing in anything else.

Except the QB class of 2019 is not shaping up like this year's ... so why not take Rosen now ?

A sad draft day indeed for Bills fans if this scenario plays out.

Maybe, but not all hope is gone as we remember Warner, Russell Wilson, Brady, Prescott & others.

If the QBs go 123 I can't see Denver passing on Chubb.

Maybe ... I guess it's depends on how much of himself Elway sees in Josh Allen.
