Zach Cunningham released (Update : Claimed by the Titans)

Would love Ertz and Cunningham on this team right now. Solid depth to go along with two young players. -

Good chance we have the Pats twice, plus Indy and/or Ten in the the playoffs. Would be at least a run package/goal line LB. And someone that can add some toughness. Add in that Klein is on the COVID list and our depth is Edmunds, Milano, Klein, Dodson/Smith... -
Final complaints and then I am moving on... I still dont get the clock run off for an injury in the final two minutes. Who was injured? I assume they didnt make that up, but still why did they run the clock down and then all of the sudden charge the time out and run it down again. It turned into an extra 30 seconds or so. Pats would have then had to punt and who knows what happens there. Bad snap, big return or hail mary. At least they have a final shot. Another big clock issue in the 3rd at 10:39. NE is stopped and somehow the playclock starts and then is restarted. They dont run the next play until 9:34 so over an extra 20 seconds off the clock. Add that to the above and the Bills are getting the ball with 1 minute left. Why was the plan on kick offs to not field the ball? Against the wind its like they were so scared of a muff that they told the returners to stay away. Still dont understand why they did not go hurry up when the Bills had the wind. Not only is it obviously better for us, but gives NE more plays against it. Both of Folks field goals came right at the start of the 2nd and 4th quarter. Differnt clock management and maybe they dont even have those options to kick.

My positivity is coming from our opponents this week TB. The 2020 TB Bucs were 7-5 after starting 6-2. People questioned if they were even making the playoffs after the Super Bowl predictions to start the year. They did not lose another game including the Super Bowl. Well, our 2021 Bills were 5-2 and are now 7-5 at risk of losing a playoff spot. We get to play TB to start our run. The first of our win streak en route to the Super Bowl.

We already lack depth at LB. With COVID etc this guy is a great insurance policy and an upgrade over Klein. We play NE two more times this year most likely. He can help. Needed it vs the Pats -
Only complaint is when he assumes the free play before its called.

McD has trust issues. We have seen it enough and it is hurting the team. I will only sign this guy bc I know him. Oh I know him from CAR. I think McD has lost trust in Daboll so now its you need to establish the line, you need to be balanced, you need to do this. I think Daboll sucks too. But at some point last year he realized he had to just let Allen play. Now we are back to this very controlled environment to contain Allen.
-
And Daboll blamed a false start and sack. No ownership (even if he does not believe it) of we could have done some things different, needed to do more early, etc. It was a - well we had a chance to win but that false start and that sack really cost us. Due, the game should have not even been in question at that point if you had tried to throw the ball in the first quarter or done a number of things differently.

How many days does it take you to process a Bills loss?
ngbills replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well usually a day or so. This one is rough though. -
Did Sean go too far calling out Mckenzie?
ngbills replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe both. The issues were there but he expected to be getting a head coach job out of it so was on good behavior and was buying time. Or it could be he sees McD intruding in his offense and hurting his chances for a HC job. -

I really think there is something to this. The love has not been there all year long. I don’t think Daboll wants to be here. -
OK, armchair analysts: How do we fix this offense?

And my flag football wr can get open on that slant in man coverage with no help. You must have heard me yelling from my house the same thing. -
I think the pressure has also got to them. Even early on when they were winning it felt the same. But what we don’t know is there other issues? Divide related to philosophies, decisions, vaccines, social media or who knows what. During the honeymoon phase those things can be marginal but over time it can different.

It’s starting to feel like there could be guys that don’t want to be here. The joy does not seem to be there as much as last year. Guys seem much more uptight. Not the lose fun group we have seen.

Beane needs to spend serious resources on the OL
ngbills replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not for the price tag, but that should change next year. Guessing Hughes, Butler, Addison, Obada, Phillips, and possibly Star are all goners. -

And we have a Qb with a cannon that should be able to hit the tight window. Should be almost a gimme play. -
Oh how I miss the days when the division was assured and everyone was worried about the team not being ready for the playoffs because of all the easy games...

MYTH Busted: "The Defense couldn't stop the Run"
ngbills replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
D played well enough to win. Some drives you wish they stopped them but they gave the O great field position multiple times. -

Red zone is killing this team. The inability to adjust. The inability to get Diggs the ball. He is invisible in 90% of games now. -
To me something seems off with Daboll. Never loved the guy but last year seemed to offer a glimmer of hope. This year he has become predictable and it seems like minimal effort is being put into the gameplan. Is he unhappy in BUF? Is he distracted? Pissed he didn't get a HC gig? Handcuffed? Who knows. I think he is simply not that good and we could do better.

Similarities between 1988-1989 seasons and 2020-2021 seasons
ngbills replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would say a little bit of both. Last year was not good enough to call it a Super Bowl or bust year going forward. But to say the trajectory has still gone up this year is wrong too. They were a better offensive team last year. This year the warts are showing. Allen is not invincible. The offensive adjustments this year has been a big mistake. They blew the offseason by not doing enough to address what many would say were obvious flaws. They would have been much better off with big name starters at the expense of the high priced back ups. The money invested in guys like Addison, Butler, Matakevich could have been spent on an impact OL or DL. Knox has been up and down but could benefit from another decent TE on the roster. Even the Williams / Feliciano bet could have been spent elsewhere. Drafting two DE's instead of going OL or RB. I feel like any one of these decisions would have helped this offense. -
Not off course. We have already lost 5 gams and have 5 left. No arguing the team has regressed this year. And worse part it is the offense and coaching which should be improving still at this point.
