I think it would be nice aspiration to try to be the first team since the Browns in the Mid-80's to have to 1000 yard backs in freddie and cj. This being the focus would help: 1. an aenmic defense 2. mediocre at best receivers 3. help fitz not to throw intp so many double and triple teams. A first round pick on a DE, corner or WR is what I would like in my xmas stocking this year along with some healthy starters.

The point is that by running it is a virtual certainty you are up by 3 with little time left and a significant chance you are up by seven with way less time on the clock than if that pass goes for a score.

I think you hit animportant nailon teh head. I am hoping McGee rests for this game as well and we can have him back 100% the rest of the way. I think that and Merriman showing more signs of life, Williams being back will make the D much better (yards wise--takeaways they are world beaters). Flutie helped us get to the playoffs for two years. The line started to go to hell then but he was elusive. Unless we get Mike vick jeff garcia or someother elusive type we have zero chance of winning anything unless we rebuild that line starting with both tackles.
