  1. At least it is an actual reference to an existing person and story. No un-named source.
  2. Funny as most any other Inc Bob rumor gets pooh-poohed here but say something somebody wants to hear and now it is gospel. It's a slow news day sports-wise so somebody checks various NFL team boards to see what fans are hungering for and lo and behold a rumor is born. Get back to me when OBD is holding a press conference about it. Still too expensive if the Giants have no other bidders to go against the Bills. The only way the Giants get this is if somebody such as Denver offers their 1st and 2nd this year along with a 1st next year to open the bidding with.
  3. I'd say the chances are greater than zero that the safety driver faces some sort of negligence charge despite the pedestrian's erratic behavior.
  4. At this point people here can not agree on the top 3 or top 2.
  5. Some people prefer the comfort of living in denial. This way they can ignore what the Giants and other teams are most likely to do.
  6. And that is true all the way to the top. The fact is any player can bust and that should be factored in as far as risk goes in mortgaging the farm. Some people act as though they have some sort of bust detector to head problems off which is hilarious.
  7. The feeling is that there is around 70 prospects that may very well turn into quality starters sooner than later.
  8. The Jets trade show that the top picks are bringing a good premium over the charts' stated values.
  9. Not you but I already feel some NWO thinking here. OBD can allocate as they see fit as this does not involve set asides for houses, condo's, vacation homes, etc. as some seem to think that it does.
  10. Once again I will say that Watson has shown promise he has little in the way of hard accomplishments to this point. The trick is to pick these guys before their NFL careers versus saying I told you so several years down the road. Anybody can play the 20-20 game.
  11. Do the Bills have a 2nd-tier meter that they will use to sort all of this out with? If I could invent one then I could make billions. Billions, I tells ya!
  12. Beane was not here last year unless you subscribe to the theories that he was operating from the shadows.
  13. You seriously believe that the majority of owners will not have an issue if Rosen is that way once in the league. No doubt Rosen's agent is telling Rosen to tamp all of that down unless he wants to fall far down in the draft. Johnson being a Trump supporter is of minimal importance to the matter.
  14. I think that Terry has his guys for a while and it will take more than one draft decision to force McBeane out the door. I actually think that Pegula has the bar set rather low for this fall given the turnover in players and OC. The test will be for McD to get a top 10 defense and the offense to show a modest increase in production. I seriously believe that barring disaster the current regime gets 4 years.
  15. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't think that owners allow politics to affect their decisions involving players for the most part. Ralph was a Democrat and the Bills have had a parade of Republican players come through Buffalo. Kemp and Smerlas were perhaps the most vocal of that group. There are of course exceptions but for the most part professional sports leagues are not run by the Archie Bunkers of the world. Anyways, i would not rule out the Jets taking Rosen other than using metrics applied to Rosen's skill set.
  16. And we know that the Bills were a recognized bidder to the Colts how? Did certain TBD board members get an exclusive invite to the auction?
  17. Not really for there was no way to see the future unfold as it did. They most likely expected the team to have a setback last fall as they rid the team of players that did not fit. Only in hindsight could they see that did not result in a top ten pick as they most likely expected. Further, a major impact player such as Smith or Evans may be found at 12 who will influence the coming season more than a QB expected to ride the bench in the same time period.
  18. And I am being extremely consistent in that pointing out both times that a comparison means so much more when both QB's are plugged into the same test using the same supporting cast and same opponents.
  19. "His numbers far exceeded the guy that he was replacing" is not my quote. You needed to post that to the person making that quote for them to draw a counter opinion based on what ever analysis they made. Further, citing "facts" is of extremely limited value in situations such as this. I did not come up with the "information" that Tyrod "averaged" over 200 yards per game while McC averaged 184 yards per game. How statistically significant is that? That could be one catch for 16 yards difference per game. Is that on the QB or the receiver or the DB that made an excellent play? If one wanted to be scientific about it you subject each to the same circumstances to be able to judge relative ability using facts. Otherwise we are back to exchanging opinions based on performances that are not linked to each other in a meaningful way. Even if we went back to 2015 and noted that each player faced the league's pass defense leader in Denver that only tells us so much as McC did not face Denver with the Bills team and Tyrod did not face Denver with the Cincy team. Even 26 wants to make that argument as he repeatedly wants to point out that McC's accomplishment was made with Cincy's receivers versus our core.
  20. What might have been the plan a couple of months ago may not be the plan as of today. Things are fairly fluid in the NFL today versus a generation or two ago. Moving to 12 might have been a part of a much more complex plan than you give credit for. Staying at 12 for Smith or Evans plus moving to 7/8 for Mayfield/ Allen utilizing 22, a second along with another pick is just as likely in my mind as a big leap to 1 or 2.
  21. The only way this means a lot is if one is plugged into the circumstances of the other for a fairly direct comparison. Are you saying that Tyrod averaged 200 yards in his first four starts? Did Tyrod face the league leader in passing yards defended such as AJ did with Denver? Sounds like we are back to trading opinions again.
  22. You are missing the bigger point in that no GM reveals his plan to the public so his competition can take advantage. Beane is no doubt looking at a great number of things but sure as heck he is not intentionally leaking any valued information or analysis for the public to grab onto. Face it. You and I are outside the process and will only learn anything as it unfolds versus being in the know a month ahead.
  23. Disagree. The Bills would have posted better had they not gambled on McCargo, Maybin, over drafting on Whitner, etc. Then there was darned if you do and darned if you do not choices in Mike Williams and Eric Flowers. The decade of darkness was ladened with top picked players that did not work out.
