  1. I know it's early, but I've been saying it for awhile, there is going to be some damn good defensive talent sitting there for us at 9. Guys who are better than any offensive player - linemen or skill position - in this draft. We would be crazy to pass one up to draft for need.

listening to espn radio.  there was a discussion about cards drafting murray and trading rosen to pats. he would sit behind brady for a who knows how long.  does this make sense?

A lot of people were getting their panties in a bunch about the possibility of the Pats trading up in front of us for Rosen, or Mason Rudolph of all people. Then Rosen went ten and Rudolph got drafting in the third round.

I could see Rosen to the Pats, but I do think Rosen to the Giants makes a ton of sense.

  3. I feel like we are trading down, or getting whichever one of these defensive linemen who drop to 9. Someone will be there.

Quinnen Williams with an unofficial 4.87. Good lord. That’s a large fast mammal.

I really hope the Jets don't get him or Bosa.

  4. My plan is a Jesse James in free agency and trading a 6th round pick for Tyler Higbee of the Rams. Some rumors circulated that he was available for a sixth last year. Higbee was drafted for Rob Boras who was the OC with Rams and is currently our tight ends coach.

    James goes 6-7, 260

    Higbee goes 6-6, 250

    Croom goes 6-5, 246

That's  some serious size and length with some very athletic upside, plus both Higbee and Croom are on rookie contracts. I don't mind the idea of Boyle. I think you could add Boyle or Maxx Williams and they could play fullback as well, which allows you to cut DiMarco if you want. And I like ASJ as well, but to me, James-Higbee-Croom is the perfect mix of size, blocking, and recieving ability. They complement each other well.

    You like Bosa over Allen?

I’m actually the opposite. I like Allen because he was literally getting pressure on 1/4 of his rushes, can cover, and basically do it all. Plus, with Zo still here, he would be the perfect guy for Allen to learn from and take over after Zo retires. This draft to

me has that same feel it did Clowney and Mack. Both will be great players.

It's 1A and 1B for me. I love Allen, but I do think Bosa is a great fit in McDermotts base defense. Allen though is pretty awesome as well.

Everyone on offense has.  So do we say the OL and the QB and a lack of running game held the WR's back or did the WR's hold the other parts back?  In any case, we do know the line needs serious upgrades.  We do need at least one other player at WR.  More importantly, we need bodies at TE.

Zay blew a lot of opportunities. He should have had more, and that is on the rest of the offense. But he blew a lot of the ones he had, and that's why he is so disappointing in my eye. You can't be a playmaker if you can't make plays. A receiver who can't catch is worthless. If he is on the team this year, I hope he breaks out.

Measured in nicely today at the combine

6-4 6/8 and 251 pounds. I thought he was coming in at 6'3. Positional value matters and he's not explosive any way but he's just so good and is a devastating blocker as well. Definitely in play at #9 along with Jonah Williams, Ed Oliver and D.K. Metcalf.

That 6-4 kind of bothers me. It's not a big deal as we are talking fractions of an inch, but I'm a big measurements guy and not sure I love that. Eager to see how he runs.

Why doesn't that work for you?

Its not your money and the Bills have LOADS of cap that they need to spend on something.

What I mean is that I would not want to give up anything good for a rental. I think we need to grow a core, I don't think we should be a rental type of team. A sixth or seventh? That's fine. I'd give up more for a more long term asset.

I think the interesting kernel in there is what he said about the tight end position. He said "finding the player who is the right fit based on who we already have on the roster." I think that means that they like Croom and are not looking for a "move" tight end like Fant. I think they are going to be looking for a true in line tight end who can block and catch. If that's Jesse James, or Hockenson, or whomever remains to be seen, but I thought it was an interesting nugget.

He was billed by some as a faster version of Robert Woods. I dont know if he’s the same type of player? What do you think?

At the risk of sounding like John Madden, I don't think he is the "football player" Woods is. From all accounts he is a hard worker. It does seem that he is ripe for a breakout if he goes to a team that will make him more of a focal point in the offense. I could see him failing miserably under the pressure of being the "guy," just like he did as a first round draft pick. He played much better after they got Jeffrey and other guys around him. He isn't the competitor that Robert Woods is. There are a million stories about how coaches had to light a fire under him and push him, how the Golden Tate trade made him worker harder. Woods is working hard no matter what. He doesn't need a fire lit.

I think that is the biggest difference.
