This city still has its training wheels on the big city bike. The Hornets had a horrible hobbit for a owner who left town when he didn't get his way. I don;t like the NBA and can't believe the city is putting up money to build a new arena (Charlotte Coliseum is a whopping 16 years old). I had enough and moved to South Carolina. I've been given free tickets and would rather be stuck in a room with ten Jets fans then attend a game. And for the poster who claimed Panthers tickets are hard to get... No way. I have PSL's. You can get tickets outside the stadium for well under face value.

Nope - Sunday night game - Labor Day weekend of 2000. Bills beat Titans at home 17-14 under Rob Johnson.

I miss the Simoncast down here in South Carolina. Enjoyed turning him on for an hour after the game and hearing the fans comment. He has a HUGGGGGEEEE area of fans he appeals to - the out-of-town Bills fan. Unfortunately that base is growing quickly. I would hope someone would step up and bring him back on the air.

Extreme Makeover farm belongs to grandma; her home was hidden with hay. The Bakersfield Californian flings crap at the walls of the new house constructed on last night's episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, suggesting that Jennifer Elcano and her kids didn't need some of the things they were given. The paper's gripe: "the property south of Bakersfield is actually owned by Linda, not Jennifer. All of the new irrigation systems, all of the improvements on the Elcano farm -- including the new house and barn -- are owned by the family matriarch, not Glen Elcano's widow." And the kids' grandmother "owns the land outright, so it's in no danger of being lost to creditors or corporate interests." On the show, Ty framed some of the improvements as helping to keep the farm alive. Reporter Steven Mayer has to squeeze this out of Linda, who says, "It's kind of a touchy subject. I don't want to sour things." More interestingly, the paper reveals that "Linda Elcano's modest home, which is adjacent to the new house, was hidden by dozens of hay bales stacked up by the TV crew. Apparently they didn't want it showing on camera."

Mike, excellent post. I've been a fan for over 20 years. Its so painful to watch this weekly comedy of errors. The teams I remembered in the mid-80's (yeah the 2-14 ones) played with heart. They had no talent but they played and the games were interesting. This team has so much talent but is heartless. They'll be winning in the 4th quarter and I'll look at my wife and say, just wait they'll find a way to blow it. They do, my Sunday is ruined. I live in a beautiful house, two great kids and a really hot wife. It sucks when they lose. I need a day to decompress. Drew Bledsoe is ruining my marriage and relationship with my kids. On a serious note, its time for Drew to step down. He's a classy guy, but he's got to see how much his horrible play is killing this team. I have never rooted for a Bills player to perform like Drew. But its time to move on.

I have asked my friend, Frank Reich to come out of retirement. I think being out of the nfl for years would be a step up to Bledsoe. It's time Drew - sorry I've defended you for too long...
