  1. LOL. I don't quite mean it that way.
  2. I agree with all you say. I would add, from my perspective the players could do some more to raise their stature too. There is some good talent on this team and a lot of players have shined for moments only to regress. Ed Oliver shows it at times but not nearly enough. McDermott has his family culture and that's great, but I think some of the coaches need to get these guys to bring a little more meanness to their game. A little more attitude. I'm thinking of Spencer Brown as an example. A little of Spencer Brown's attitude in Dalton Kincaid would do a lot for his game IMO.
  3. I would bet that Beane is hoping for Bosa to make a comeback, and he gets extended. Nobody likes dead cap money but if you want to play the game you have to pay. This year so far, the Bills have $29M in dead cap. It's right in the middle of the pack. I look at dead cap in 2 parts. One, it's the interest price of getting players today and paying tomorrow. The other is the cost of getting rid of players who have decreased in value. Typically, that is caused by injuries or old age. Tre White, Von Miller, Hyde and now Milano come to mind.
  4. They will start soon; I believe after June 1st. But for all the players like Bosa, technically they are on the team until the start of next year, then the money goes to dead cap. It's all part of the bookkeeping of the NFL.
  5. Half of that goes away if Bosa, McGovern and Ogunjobi are re-signed. The majority ($11M) of the remainder is Milano. You have to add up Milano and all the "red" players dead cap. It's accurate.
  6. Just to update my earlier post after the Ogunjobi and Shenault contracts, Beane has $662K in cap with Gilliam, Green, Johnson and Jackson left to subtract. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025/sort/cap_total_top51/dir/desc
  7. Yes, but I'm not sure when the "savings" show up. I'm assuming the savings come when he goes on suspension at the start of the year.
  8. Bills have 67 on roster so 23 more. Beane will probably draft at least 8 and add another 10 UDFAs minimum. Probably another 5 vets or so. There is always a big churn with the lower tiered players that cost nothing to switch out.
  9. Beane in his presser said he is tight against the cap, and I believe him. I do think he is waiting for a vet CB like @Simonsaid, but he will have to push a lot of that cap into next year if it is a costly player. After that I suspect it will only be a couple of vet minimum types until the draft. Spotrac added another $1.5M to Josh's cap hit in LTBE incentives and it shows $3.9M under with still 6 player's contracts to be added. He almost certainly has to restructure Dawkins and that will pretty much do it. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025/sort/cap_base/dir/desc
  10. Dawkins is about the only guy to restructure that makes sense. Knox, Jones, Samuel, Epenesa are the next in line and don't make sense.
  11. Yep. But I'm hoping he makes a full season and is in the running for "comeback player of the year".
  12. If Bosa plays well and re-signs that $7M in dead will go away and get absorbed in the new contract. Beane could have restructured a player but most of the eligible guys don't make a lot of sense right now.
  13. It's not a huge risk, but it sure would be great to get Bosa back to a semblance of his former self.
  14. Bosa contract came in. $5.32M cap hit this year and $7.2M in dead next year. It is set up that if the Bills re-sign him it's already spread out over the next 4 years. This is how Beane is getting under the cap right now. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/18951/joey-bosa
  15. He no doubt will. Allen is getting $50M+ in new cash every year going forward. I actually think he will be OK until he needs an extension in the spring of 2029. I expect Beane to start pushing out chunks of Josh's cap starting next year and keep pushing it out through his next extension. I should say the Mahomes thing is the outside date. He could reset next year.
  16. The Chiefs have paid Mahomes $218M in cash so far. AAV is not a good way of reflecting how much a player is paid in cash and when the cap hits will be assessed. Mahomes is scheduled to get $50M in cash this year and only has a $28M cap hit. As to when Mahomes' contract gets redone. He gets $56M in cash next year and $53M in 2027. After that the cash drops to $27M. That's when I think his contract gets redone.
  17. There are routinely posters on this board praising other teams (especially the Bills competition) who ignore things like the Bengals OL. If Beane was fielding an OL like the Bengals, they would be calling for his head. It's pretty rough when Cody Ford is considered an anchor for your group. I'm sure they will do more in the draft and probably pick up another one or two in the remainder of FA, but that's pretty dangerous with a QB with an injury history like Burrow.
  18. I know. I'm talking about what we can see in Spotrac. Also, not all of these signing may be officially submitted to the league.
  19. I was disappointed in his 2024 season but not anywhere near that. Let's see how 2025 goes.
  20. Oh, I see your point. I looked at the contract before the new one came online but can't remember what the original cap hit was if cut today. I'm thinking it would have been a few million less than it is now, but I'm not certain.
  21. Good. Dalton can use a little mean in his game. I like it!
  22. I tried searching and got nothing. They gave Milano little more guaranteed cash. They are not cutting him so his dead cap for 2025 is meaningless. Bills saved $3M on his contract. It's $11M dead next year just like it would of been if the Bills cut him next spring. Note: Not $6M in cap savings this year like some tweet said.
  23. By the end of summer, they will need to open enough cap for those needs. I'm not sure what you are asking/saying. My points are, Beane has to restructure current players just to get under the cap NOW. I am not expecting any more splash signings.
