Anyone else experience the dumb NFL broadcast rule yesterday in the middle of the Browns/Ravens OT?

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, my issue with it is probably because I have the NFL Ticket.  So, the Bills game yesterday finished in just over 2.5 hours so CBS switched over to the Browns/Ravens game with about 4.5 mins left in regulation.  Since the game went to OT, it wasn't finished at 1:30 PM PT (4:30 ET).  So, they go back to the studio and James Brown says "due to NFL Rules & Regulations, we can't show you anymore of this game".   Then, the studio crew is watching a TV off set and updating the viewers play by play and then they'd show the replay about 10 seconds later.  That was the most ridiculous thing I ever saw.

My understanding of the rule was, if your local team was in a late game, which was the case here I guess with the Oakland Raiders, and there was a doubleheader on the network, if the early game went over, they had to switch to the late game.  Well, I was watching the Bills thru NFL Ticket and there was no other game following on the Direct-TV channel it was shown on so what's the deal?  Many people watch games thru NFL Ticket and each game has its own channel so why couldn't they continue to show the Browns game?

You might say "Why didn't I just switch to the channel the Browns were on?".  The answer to that is since I got my first DVR, I have enjoyed so much being able to FFWD thru commercials that I never watch anything live.  For the Bills game, I didn't start watching until a half hour after it began.  After that, with food and bathroom breaks and doing things around the house, when I finished watching the Bills game, it was about 1.5 hours after it ended so the Browns game was over also.  The CBS studio crew though continued to show highlights and jabber on for another half hour.

I had the same thing happen but was watching live.  I was cursing but found it on another channel.

Sign A freakin WR!!!!! What the hell is wrong with this regime?!?!?! You trade up for this Stud QB and give him no line and WR's?!?!? What a clown show. But that's right culture matters over talent. SMH....

It is obvious we don’t care about winning.  They wanted to suck last year but it didn’t happen.  They are making sure it won’t happen again.  Keep building the defense to make it look less obvious.  TANK!

So many posts hear about the many struggles that the bills have had this season. It’s very easy to point out what the problems are with this team. But the bigger question is how do you fix these problems.  so many posts hear about the many struggles that the bills have had this season. It’s very easy to point out what the problems are with this team. But the bigger question is how do you fix these problems?

Let’s start with the offense of line. The play for many of the games this year have been offensive. But again how do you fix this problem? Many have suggested taking Connor McDermitt and using him to replace Jordan Matthews. How about removing John Miller and replacing him with Wyatt Teller? But as you saw today when McDermott was there he was absolutely owned off the edge. So how do you fix the offense of line?

Bills quite possibly have the worst wide receivers in the NFL. They either are invisible Zay Jones nine factors like Andre Holmes or drop passes when they get a chance to make a play like Kelvin Benjamin. So what’s the solution here? Do you honestly think that Rishard Matthews could give this receiving team a boost? And would you try to draft pick to bring him on the team? What is the solution at wide receiver?

Remember I’m looking for solutions for this season. We’re not talking next year. So any suggestions that you have make have to occur over the span of the next few weeks.

And any suggestions that you may have to be realistic. It’s not like you can just trade for a Julio Jones.

So take a chance and come up with the best plan for the Bills moving forward

Everyone wants to whinge but no one has a good, realistic solution.

We have to start to build up the offense in the draft and free agency.  This regime has been all about defense.  Not to get off topic but did it appear they moved Shaq Lawson to the inside?

Why does Allen always go straight to spinning to his blindside when under pressure?

Even when it seems easier to just step up, or throw the ball away, or take off running in another direction... he seems to default to spinning into his blindside and immediately into the hands of an unseen edge rusher every time.

Is that just how he's being taught? I don't know why that would be, but maybe there's something to it im missing.

Along with having a better internal clock, throwing the ball away more often, recognizing blitzes better, and improving the O-line, I feel not defaulting to that spin every time will help negate a ton of negative plays, and keep us in manageable 3rd down situations.

I agree.  He had chances to slide right or left but failed to do so.

Yeah but that's because they didn't build the team around TT's skills, and is line sucks, and he didn't have time to throw, and his receivers aren't good...did I miss any?

His OC sucks.  How many times did we hear that.
