A second & a third i think Beane would take it but the last time we traded down to 27 was the year the Chief's traded with us & they got Mahomes we got Tre but he don't score many points .

If Robinson is there at 27 he is just 1 more weapon for teams to worry about & for those that don't believe a running back is worth the pick i would argue that if the Jets would have had Breece Hall last year the Bills wouldn't have won that second game because there are some running backs that are still worth the roster spot .

Robinson is suppose to be a "generational talent" not seen since Saquan came out so if you can get a talent like that on a cheap contract for 4 to 5 years than get him, win a Super Bowl & let him go at the end of the cheap contract .

I don’t think I could pass on Bijan at 27 either, I think he’s probably the best case scenario for Buffalo, but if he’s gone and we trade down and ended up with Zach Charbonnet and a nasty lineman like Steve Avila or Dawand Jones, I don’t think I could complain either.

Well, the draft pick value chart says to get a roughly equal value would be with Atlanta for #44 and 75.  So anything above #44 that for a 2nd and 3rd swap, Buffalo would be making out well with that trade.

Around that area, best Guard, WR, LB or Safety.  I think there is alot of good potential WRs and Oline in this draft.  Let's get 2.  Those 2 positions I wouldn't mind doubling up on.

Somebody mentioned Steve Avila and I think if Buffalo could get him in a trade down you could do no wrong. Maybe slot him in at RG and eventually have him take over at C, that would be nice. I suppose I wouldn’t mind Zach Charbonnett also, but I would prefer Avila or Dawand Jones.

??? Take “where”? If Chicago gave us their 2nd round pick vs KC giving us their 2nd rounder.

I don’t know, let’s split the baby down the middle and let’s say it’s a mid 2nd and a mid 3rd round pick and Buffalo still has their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th round picks on top of it.

I’m sorry that I was a bit too vague in the OP, I didn’t want to superimpose my thoughts on everyone else, I genuinely wanted to hear everyone else’s opinion on who they would take.

We have a thread on Buffalo staying put at 27 and Buffalo drafting a defensive player at 27 and Buffalo drafting an offensive player at 27, I thought we needed a Trade Down Thread as well.

There’s no defensive player I want at 27, I’ll puke if we take one I think. I don’t need some first round pick wasted on a scheme that’s lazy and doesn’t encourage play making.

We badly need weapons and most importantly protection for josh. Which of course means we will waste the pick on a safety.

There’s no better way to put it.

  5. Random names in no particular order:

Taylor Lewan, LT (Put him at RT?)

Isaac Seumalo, RG (Our big FA signing?)

Mike Gesicki, TE (Big target for Josh with upside?)

Rashaan Evans, LB (Cheap LB with upside on the sly?)

Leighton Vander Esch, LB (Another cheap LB, smart and instinctive- don’t give me the “he don’t fit our scheme” BS)

27: R1 P27 OT Paris Johnson Jr. - Ohio State

    59: R2 P28 C John Michael Schmitz - Minnesota

    91: R3 P28 WR A.T. Perry - Wake Forest

    130: R4 P28 RB Tank Bigsby - Auburn

    139: R5 P3 EDGE Dylan Horton - TCU

    164: R5 P28 LB Ventrell Miller - Florida

There’s no way on God’s green earth that Paris Johnson will be available at 27, there’s no way. I am a firm believer in drafting the best WR available at 27 because I think there will be a few but Paris Johnson is a top 10 LT and a franchise LT at that.

  7. Don’t count out Terrel Bernard. Yes, he’s undersized, but yes he’s had a full year to pack on some muscle, from what I’ve seen he’s a very instinctive and intuitive LB, so who knows? He may be a quality starter for us next year.

Also, Milano is obviously a high quality starter as well. So I think if Buffalo drafted somebody in the 3rd-4th round I’d feel really good about this group. DeMarvion Overshown out of Texas is a name I’d throw out there, he could probably be had in RD3. Nice size, strong, instinctive, playmaker.

  8. He’s a great coach but I think he needs to be more proactive when it comes to coaching, staff and personnel changes. Frazier should have been fired a year ago. Yeah, it sucks, I know he’s your friend but you owe it to the city and to your players to make such changes so we can hopefully win at least one Lombardi in Josh’s prime.

I will also say this, I am very cautious about Dorsey as our OC for two reasons: 1.) He never quite lives up to what we had with Daboll or 2.) He does live up to what Daboll did here and he’s gone next offseason regardless. The lack of stability on offense has me feeling icky about the future there long term. McD needs to find some offensive minded guru that failed as a HC so we are no longer in limbo at OC. Like a Bill O’Brien type so McD has his guys in place long term.

With that said, McD has my blessing for 2023 but this could be his last season here at the same time.

I like it when people use the word "alpha". It's like seeing a dunce cap in print.

Yikes. The word alpha is used by men who are suffering from toxic masculinity and in return are not much of an “alpha” themselves. I prefer the term leader. Leaders are found everywhere and they know when to follow too. Some people just have that type of presence that just pulls you in and you gravitate towards them.

Is McD a leader? I would say so yes, but I think if I had one word to describe him with it would be authentic.

You do realize that the Pegulas will likely end up only paying for about 10-15% of the cost, right? Also, they are so rich that they could have foot the bill for a dome and it would be like any of us spending $100 on a fancy meal. But they're hoarding their billions. 🙄

Show some gratitude. If it weren’t for Kim and Terry we would be the LA Bills.

Last year the Special Teams Coordinator was the scapegoat.

This year it was the Defensive Coordinator.

Who will be McDermott's scapegoat next year? On to Offensive Coordinator? He already did that previously when he fired Dennison, can always go back there again and fire Dorsey I guess...

... walls are closing in ...

I’m not sure if there will be a next year for McDermott nor Beane unless this team seriously performs.

Based on the general tone of this thread, I can’t tell if this is sincere or sarcasm. Doesn’t matter, great post 😄

I am very sincere. The fact that we have an owner who is building us a brand new stadium to the tune of $1.4B should make all of us happy. Why is this thread full of admonishments and lament? I’m almost embarrassed to be a Bills after reading through some of this drivel, we should all be posting gratitude statements.

Yep.  And anyone who believes this was anything other than McBeane doing Frazier a favor holding onto him until all the head coaching jobs were filled… I gotta bridge to sell you.  McDermott knows this year is it.  Maybe he’ll give Holcomb or the young guy Babich the DC title, but McDermott will be way more hands on.  Beane made that clear in his presser.

As he should be. This is a make or break year for McD. He oughta leave nothing on the table. He’s viewed as a defensive guru slash aficionado, well let’s see it. Whomever we hire as DC should be our DC just in title. Let’s see what you got Coach McD.
