  1. If the last game was an indication of what they might do with Kincaid going forward I'm excited. Knox does play with a toughness that I like to see on the field. I'm glad we have both given injuries over the course of a season.
  2. Just throwing it out there, would you rather have Knox's 21 season or Kincaid's 23? 49 catches 587 yards 9TDs vs 66 catches 589 yards 2TDs both in 15 games I think Kincaid is having a good season and is a good TE. That said I like Knox's toughness and what he brought to the offense. I'm not sure if you are only putting one on the field that we're better off with Kincaid. I repeat this isn't a knock on Kincaid.
  3. We don't use designed quick passes (outside of WR screens). Quick slants or quick hits straight up the seam are not something we use more than once or twice a game. I was actually looking at Kincaid(23) vs Knox (21 and 22) Kincaid has more catches but the yards are pretty similar and Knox seemingly is a better jump ball option in the end zone. Knox was/is more physical and frequently trucked guys for big yardage. Kincaid is what we thought he was .......... a big receiver. We set up for deep throws every drop back and occasionally work screens with mediocre success. Quick passes are just not a thing in this offense. If they just took a few drives and looked short first and long later Shakir and Kincaid would probably eat teams up and it would open up things for Diggs and Davis. I also thougtht we would never in a million years show any commitment to a running attack but here we are.
  4. I catch the show on youtube so I watched it instead of listening but either way he was saying our interior line wasn't holding up well and Allen didn't have time for plays to develop. Although I'm rewatching the game now and I was going over each down just reached the FG that made it 13 to 7. I only have one major take. Shakir is open all the damn time. Allen throws to Kincaid, double covered miss, Shakir open other side. Allen holds the ball throws Diggs incomplete, Shakir wide open on a slant probably catches it for 7 but easily runs for more. Allen looks Kincaid and Shakir wide open for what would have been a TD. None of this is a knock on Allen. I'm guessing Shakir isn't Allen's first or even second read but I'm starting think maybe he should be. So far Sherfield, Cooks, and Knox all have drops. The Knox drop (got a personal foul penalty) .......... Shakir open deep on a post.
  5. Or we run the offense through Kincaid who starts to put up Kelce numbers and Diggs can slowly decline over a couple seasons and ride off into the sunset
  6. I just don't see the throw. Kincaid isn't fast enough (step or not) to out run a corner down the field and 28 was already breaking on it before Allen threw it. I do know a rb covered by a DT is a huge mismatch and I'll continue to say that's my play all day. At the very least if you are going to heave it up there to someone who's only advantage is their size you better get it to them so they can jump for it and not leave it 5 yards short. Long and short of it I'm sick of the turnovers. That's probably why I like Brady running the ball. If you can't play a game with a lead against a toothless offense without turning it over you are just asking to lose winnable games. Thank god NE's kicker sucks.
  7. You are right Kincaid had a step and I guess that justifies the throw. The unfortunate part is that only leads to the conclusion that Allen has become really bad at hitting anyone down field. He's badly missing deep throws most of the time. Mostly short. If he overthrows that pass I'm not sure even a second guy gets the pick there. The pick was easy because it was so underthrown.
  8. Johnson sneaking out with a LB late covering. You can see him after the LB peels to cover him in your picture but Allen missed it at this point. My picture shows him leaving the backfield and looking for the ball that wasn't coming.
  9. I'm not sure even without 28 coming over that Kincaid was out running 30 to the ball. Maybe it's just because Allen under threw it again but 30 was there in coverage when the ball came down and 28 was in front of both of them to intercept it. All 22 only confirms my original idea that if Allen leads the back as he sneaks out of the back field he's going to run for 15 yards before anyone gets to him. Went and looked at the -4 yard swing pass to Cook later in the game and that's again because the swing pass is too late and too wide and gives the one defender time to get by the one blocker (Gilliam I think). Allen swings that pass quicker and tighter and Cook runs right by the defender. I'm not going to totally blame Allen (he's been better of late) but as a team we are one of the worst at getting the backs into passing game. Both plays are horrible execution where seemingly plays are available.
  10. Joyner had Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, Jerome Brown, and Mike Pitts in front of him. Our line is pretty good but the Eagles were on another level. Back then the Eagles line and the Saints LB's were the two groups you didn't want to see on the schedule.
  11. I haven't seen the all 22 but that play was shown a number of times. Kincaid wasn't out running anyone and he was well covered even without the second guy going back and picking it off. Looks like (on my dvr not All 22) if he hits Johnson early leaking out of the back field he could have picked up some yards. That wouldn't be as sexy as a bomb to Kincaid but that pass to Kincaid was never going to happen. Two plays before he has a great throw to Kincaid and then he kind of dirts one to Shakir but he picks it off the ground. He might have had something going if he just kept moving the chains. When it happens every single game it's kind of a thing.
  12. I'm always going to be in favor of more rushing and less turnovers especially if the points and first downs are the same or better. If we threw the ball more and had less turnovers I'd be in favor of that.
  13. Pats had just made it 14 to 20. We don't need to be turning the ball over on 1st down anywhere on the field and the guy wasn't open. If the Pats kicker wasn't a turd we have another 4th quarter fiasco. I guess guys not getting open goes hand in hand with throwing more picks because he doesn't know where to go with the ball but there's got to be a way not to spot the other team an extra possession every game. I feel like there are passes missing in there somewhere because I remember Josh being pretty off with his throws with some of them being caught and some not. I haven't re-watched any of the game though so maybe I'm remembering it wrong.
  14. I'm sorry but I have to give Brady props. Sure the passing game isn't lighting it up. Defenses are playing the pass and it's the players more than the scheme that isn't working. That said the fact that he is smart enough to lean on the running game and creating enough offense to score some points and keep our defense from being on the field all game I think is the difference between a Brady win and a Dorsey loss. No offense to Allen (and not that it's all his fault) but if we throw 50 times a game over the last 5 games I'm not sure we win 4 out of 5.
  15. It's combine measurements. His 40 and vertical are better than Diggs, Addison, and a lot of other guys. His arms on the other hand are 2 inches shorter. Closest I've found was Addison at 30 7/8th. Shakir measured 29. That said he has a 5 inch vertical advantage. Most combine measurements are on their wiki pages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalil_Shakir
  16. Thinking more about it, it also explains the horrible WR screens. They're running them to Diggs trying to get him touches but if he's not right and can't cut and make guys miss it would explain why he's not doing much with them.
  17. Stating the obvious but it creates a two fold problem. One is that Diggs isn't getting open and 2 is that Allen is not looking at the guys who are getting open waiting on Diggs. Hopefully Diggs is just nicked up and will return to some form of himself soon or Allen comes off him a little quicker in progressions.
  18. It's just the way I watch football, any game, when the play starts I count to three and I start saying "get rid of the ball". Not much good happens when you hold the ball for a long time after that. Allen has made a lot of plays after I had already yelled at the TV "get rid of the ball". I don't think my natural instincts are ever going to change though. Once the ball is snapped, in an efficient offense, for the most part the ball should be out in 3 seconds. I mean your occasional deep shot and if they only rush 3 or something and you can work the coverage. It shouldn't be your typical offense to be running around and holding the ball every play. Although I don't think I'm saying anything everyone doesn't already know. A lot of ideas about the problems and unfortunately it's problem a little bit of everything.
  19. Seeing the ball less than Cook I guess it makes sense that he took a little longer to come around. He started showing up in the playoffs last year and luckily it carried over. Hopefully he keeps making plays. The more the better.
  20. What exactly makes you say Shakir isn't quick enough to be a slot WR? Puka Nacua wants to know.
  21. Shakir ran a 4.43 ................ not sure why so many people say he's slow.
  22. That is before Allen even bails the pocket. The outside corner headed down field. I guess it's the difference between 3rd and short vs the Chargers ball at mid field. This is as Allen is throwing the ball. The TE is going to get some yards here. Hell if Allen just runs that way the TE blocks and it's probably a first down.
  23. You are right in that defenses have to play Cook more lately but that's because he had 125 yards and 2 TD's just a couple weeks ago and Cook in the passing game is one of the reasons we won the Chiefs game. You are also right that not having a reliable go to guy hurts. As much as I do think Allen needs to speed up getting the ball out and take the easy stuff more often I'm not oblivious to the fact that guys are dropping a number of those throws. Short throws that move the sticks are definitely less effective if guys aren't catching the short throws. It's been hard to watch. Allen will tattoo the TE and it skips off his hands (still he should catch it). Then Allen throws an easy one to a back for a would be first down and they drop it. Then they call a WR screen and it get's blown up 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
