Maine-iac replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Late season Allen running for TD's. It's going to be close at the very least. -

Well we've slowed down the run a bit maybe by the 4th quarter we'll get them to punt once. -

I love Cam but he's a bonus in zone. We go to man I'm not sure Cam is going to stop any Rams wideout. -

Bring in Elam and start playing some man coverage. -

I just don't think the Rams secondary is that good. If there was a game I'd throw to set up the pass this might be that game. -

That's what I was thinking but AJ and Groot must be shell shocked. Every time they set up to rush the passer a rb or a wr runs right by them. We need the interior guys to step up and beat the guy in front of them a few times. -

Forget the offense which has sputtered a bit, the defense can't stop anything. We just don't seem to have guys in the right place. Our ends aren't rushing the pass well probably because the Rams keep running jet sweeps inside and outside of them. -

both throws were yards off ............ what's wrong with Allen today? -

Going to have to play the run tighter. I know we can stop the run. Can we stop the run and keep the Rams WR's in check? -

Get rid of the blocked punt and this game is probably tied with us getting the ball first in the second half. They need to make some good adjustments on defense. They need to stop the run and realize that Stafford isn't going to be tricked by coverage so you better heat him up. Give him time and he will find the open guys. -
People complain about his contract, and I get it, but he's certainly a nice luxury to have. Kincaid goes down and we have a second tight end that still very good. What Knox misses in every down pass catcher he makes up for in big plays and raw physicality. Knox usually makes one huge catch a game or trucks someone into ground.

Josh Allen.......over/under 10.5 Rushing TD's???
Maine-iac replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering how many late season TD's Allen has typically scored I wouldn't concede him being able to score 11 td's. That said I'm glad Cook has been doing more of the TD scoring and I hope it continues. -
Damar Hamlin leading pro bowl voting
Maine-iac replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Winfield Jr is ranked lower than Hamlin and has given up less catches and has less missed tackles and was the highest graded safety in the league last year. Hamilton has given up 39 receptions and 13 missed tackles and given up a passer rating of over 100 and is the 4th ranked safety on their list. When someone uses PFF grades as an argument for how bad or good someone is it's hard to take anything else seriously. Lots of opinions offered but I haven't seen one good argument as to why Hamlin isn't doing a good job at safety. I'd agree he's not Ed Reed or a young Micah Hyde but for the cap space we're using on Hamlin you'd be hard pressed to find a better player. You can't pay everyone on the roster 10 million dollars. -
I'm willing to bet she has some skills you don't tell your mother about ................

Outside of the TD's technically Coleman had more yards and catches in the last 4 games he played.

Bills have the best tackling Secondary in the NFL
Maine-iac replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Being able to dedicate the money else where and still have two capable starters means a lot. We're probably saving in the ball park of 15 million dollars and getting arguably better safety play than last year. When you run nickel and dime more than any other team in the league your safeties are going to do a lot of tackling. -

When was the last time we had a RB run for 10 TD's? Love that we are dangerous with every aspect of our game. WR's as a group stepped up. Defense stepped up. Great win. -
Thanks for pointing out Shakir plays from the slot. A point I made before this thread died out weeks ago. Nearly every pass catcher in the top 25 for this stat is either a TE or a slot WR. Only 3 out of the top ten in this stat have an average targeted air yards of over 6. It's totally dominated by slot WR's and TE's. Nearly all of the best outside WR's have terrible separation stats and are great WR's. Look at the list of worst separation and it's a who's who of good outside WR's. So the stat doesn't mean anything. Especially in terms of outside WR production.
-
Shakir and Kincaid both average more separation than Chase. Shakir is leading the league at the WR postion. Hollins averages as much separation as Cooper. Other than arguing the stat itself it translates very little to on the field and wins and losses. Of the 3 worst WR's from a separation as a stat perspective two of them are Harrison Jr and AJ Brown who both play for and are the leading WR's on division leading teams
-
Could someone please tell me one reason why WR separation (as a stat) means anything.
