    Sammy ….. 40 catches ….. 519 yards ….. 3 TDs

    Foster   ….. 27 catches ….. 541 yards ….. 3 TDs

    Jones    ….. 56 catches ….. 652 yards ….. 7 TDs

So actually he's not, you are wrong. Weather he's better than Foster or not may be debatable, but he doesn't hold a candle to "stone hands" Jones, add in the salaries of the three receivers and the Bills are getting WAYYYYYYYYYY more bang for their bucks with Zay and Robert than the Chiefs are getting with Sammy.

Yes he is. You're really defending the Bills WRs right now? If you do that how will you defend Allen's completion percentage later?

Bills receivers are absolute garbage. Hope Zay gets cut, he's a bad player and an embarrassment off the field.

You actually have to be on the field for games that count in order to be better than any of our receivers. Get serious. He has FRICKIN MAHOMES, NFL MVP, as his quarterback, and he STILL can't live up to his draft position or contract.

Robert Foster had more yards than him this season. Take a guess as to what their pay disparity is.

    Yeah.

And we could have both players right now.

At least Mahomes is getting some respect in this post. Most Bills fans can't even admit he's good.

    I'd take Sammy over Foster.

As for the pay, It's not my money and the Bills have plenty of cap space. Which FA WR is better than him and how much will he cost?

As an aside I hope the Bills hit the ground running in free agency so we have something real to talk about.   I mean we haven't even got to the divisional playoff games yet and we're going stir crazy arguing about imaginary scenarios where KC trades Mahomes to us or what if we had drafted Mahomes in 2017!

At this rate by February we'll be debating about what would have happened had the Bills taken Tom Brady in the 5th round and hired Belichick after he was fired by Cleveland!

So it’s too early and also too late to talk about? Let me know when the exact sweep spot is. You said after next season, but won’t that be wayyy too late ?

To say that Mahomes  would not have put up the same numbers in Buffalo isn't to cast doubt on the guys amazing talent or to trash the  Bills organization; it just acknowledges the vast differences between the two teams offensive personnel.

I think posters are absolutely trying to cast doubt on his talent to make it seem like less of a mistake to not draft him. Otherwise why bring it up if it's so obvious?

  5. Y'all are delusional if you don't think they SHOULD trade the entire team for Mahomes. Beane and McDermott might not actually do it because it would look bad, but if there was a new regime in there tomorrow  they would take this deal in a heartbeat.

My friend is a KC fan he is constantly posting about how enamored he is with all the weapons they have. He can't believe how lucky he is that his team finally has weapons and he gets to watch these weapons for the next 10+ years.?

The fact is Mahomes is better than Allen will ever be. Just watch the games. It's not about the weapons, although that helps. People using the argument that he wouldn't be as good in Buffalo are just twisting the knife. To me they're only pointing out that not only do we have the lesser QB but also the team and coach are worse too. How are we supposed to believe Allen will develop when you keep saying Mahomes wouldn't have?? Talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Ingnorant points.  Been wasn,t the GM for Dawkins or the Mahomes trade.  Edmonds has some better key stats than Vander Esch and has to command the D as well as playing in a true MLB roll as VE plays OLB.  I swear do people on this board do any research or do they just listen to other people that dont look into anything.  Lets talk about Edmonds at this time next year.  Allen as well.

It’s always too early to evaluate the Bills decisions if it’s negative. But zay Jones is a true #2 after one good game.

As soon as it’s a proven mistake the homers say “let’s just move on! Stop living in the past!”

apparently there must be a sweet spot where it’s ok to admit the Bills have made a mistake; after enough time has passed but not before too much time has passed.

I find it interesting that despite going into painstaking detail about each throw no one who disagrees will say which interpretation they disagree with and why. The whole point of doing this was to talk specifics about Allen instead of generalizations.

Thats how all these homers are. They think any negative comment against Allen, McDermott or Beane is coming from the overreacting kneejerk crowd.

When someone actually tries to look at something critically they’re still on autopilot with their “this is a bad thread/post” , “stop whining”  and “another thread about this?!” reactions that offer no counter-argument.

Theyll also offer personal insults eventually. Just try not to give in to the temptation to fire back.

I have usually been the first this season to point at the execution of the players that has been atrocious because we are under talented. But today there is a lot of specifics that you can blame on coaching:

Why didn't they send extra pressure at Darnold when he began to get comfortable in the 2nd half? I think I counted one blitz the whole half. Coaching.

Why did it take them so long to make any adjustment at all in the kicking game to the fact that they were getting abysmal gunner play and the Jets returner was gashing us? Coaching.

Why when 14-6 up with a 3rd and 3 deep in the redzone did we run a ridiculous gimmick play with Zay Jones passing? Coaching.

Why did we try and kick a long FG with an injured FG kicker? Coaching.

McDermott is the Head Coach. The coaching was awful yesterday. The buck stops with him. And I am a McDermott guy. I still support him. But when you have bad talent (we do) it is even more important the coaches put them in position to be the best versions of themselves. We didn't do that yesterday.

This pissed me off. I'm hoping to see more passing plays from Allen that result in actual passes when suddenly Zay gets to throw?

Watkins cap hit the next two years is 19.2 mil and 21 mil.  The guy's availability isn't good and neither are his stats.  No, I wouldn't want Watkins.

We will end up overpaying for a FA WR anyway. We can afford 19 and 21 million while we have so many rookie contracts. BUT that’s all besides the point. Just this year alone having him over Benjamin would have been a huge upgrade even if he was injured.

if i'm not mistaken he weighed in at 252 at the combine and ran a 4.38. he seriously one of the most freakish athletes the nfl has ever seen. and on of the few workout wonders that proceeded to go out and make a name for himself with his play as well.

i'm really excited about foster. i'll admit I bagged on him hard all offseason and into the regular season. i'm really excited to think we may have plugged another hole(teller as well) with rookie. if he keeps his hands in tact we will have solved 2/3 of the wr issue now that jones is starting to be a solid contributor. i'm getting really really pumped for next season already!

This is the second time I’ve seen this posted this week. Did I miss something? He has had one good game his entire career.

I was also excited after his good game but I think I read he didn’t even have a target last week. Unless you count the onside kick.

I never said anyone couldn't evaluate him. I simply gave my opinion - even stating it was just my opinion. I know you think Allen is a bust; however, there are those of us around here who happen to think it is way too early to tell. Why are you so sensitive?

    What are you talking about?

Never said he’s a bust. Also think it’s too early to tell. However the post you were replying to originally is a good evaluation of him so far. Your post was all outside things that have nothing to do with Allen himself.

  12. 6 hours ago, billsfan1959 said:

Apparently Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold didn't get the memo of the game being tailor made for them, as their stats and play have been similar to Allen. If you haven't seen that, then you haven't been watching them. Allen has played like most rookies on bad offensive teams (hello Jared Goff and others). He struggled a great deal; however, it wasn't just him. The offense has had two good games this season against the Vikings and Jets. I love how Allen's performance was a fluke (even without the 100+ yards and 2 TDs dropped by receivers in that game), yet Barkley's performance was not, even though his entire NFL history says otherwise.

I have no idea how good or bad Josh Allen will be; however, this idea that he has somehow been drastically worse than what we typically see with rookie QBs on bad offensive teams is, IMO, ridiculous.

    I guess we will see.

So we can't evaluate him at all? Let me know when we are allowed to do that.

Jared Goff was bad means nothing. So was every bad quarterback.

I think your dislike for McDermott clouds what little judgement you have. I could go on with this debate; however, something tells me that eventually I am just going to roll my eyes and say, "there's an hour or so of my life I'll never get back."

So, let's just agree to disagree. Cheers.

ok, agree to disagree but I don't dislike McDermott. Just thought your argument was extremely weak.

  14. 30 minutes ago, billsfan1959 said:

My original post, and subsequent explanations to you, addressed those that wanted McDermott fired and listed, as a primary or secondary reason, what he had done this year with what was, last year, a playoff team. What is so difficult for you to understand about that? Or is it that you have to keep finding semantic issues to dwell on so you don't have to address anything substantively?

I attempted to address your straw-man argument in my first reply. There is absolutely no comparison between Pedersen and McDermott when it comes to body of work, so you had to invent a stance that says the DIFFERENCE between last year and this year is the main reason anyone would want McDermott fired.

Even if that were the case, McDermott's results have been worse both last year and this year.

  15. 18 hours ago, billsfan1959 said:

There have been plenty of posts on this board demanding McDermott be fired and CLEARLY stating, as a primary reason, what he has done with a "playoff" team. If you choose to believe those posts were never written, feel free. Leaving that aside, you say, even if it were true, McDermott should be judged more harshly because of the nature of the offense and more blowouts? Seriously? The coach should be fired because his 29th or 30th ranked offense from last year (that managed a grand 3 points in the playoff loss) is worse in a rebuilding year, playing, to date, the 3rd hardest schedule (DVOA of opponents)? Yet, a coach with Super Bowl winning talent on his team, whose offense has dropped from 7th to 19th, whose defense dropped from 4th to 23rd, whose team has been embarrassed on the field, and whose record, in a weak division and playing the 21st hardest schedule, is one win better than the rebuilding Bills shouldn't be judged as harshly?

Let me be clear. I think it is absolutely asinine to think either one should be fired. At least I'm consistent.

There you go fabricating things again. I never said the coach should be fired, just that he should be judged more harshly than Pedersen because he hasn't shown as much. I think he will be fired either during next season or after, but I sure hope I'm wrong.

  16. 8 hours ago, billsfan1959 said:

Not that confusing, nor is it a false choice. It also was not about whether a Super Bowl win was better than a Wild Card loss. Most of us understand that - but, thank you for pointing out the obvious.

The point was that I have heard over and over about how McDermott should be fired for taking a “playoff” team and turning it into a 3-7 team with some embarrassing losses. I have also heard from those same posters how Pederson is a shining example of what we need. Well, Pederson has taken a Super Bowl winning team and turned it into a 4-6 team with some embarrassing losses - like the one this past week. Some might argue Pederson’s failure this year might be more egregious due to the superior talent he has to work with. Just looking for a little consistency...

First, who has said McDermott needs to be fired BECAUSE of the difference between last year and this year? Completely fabricated premise. But ok, even if that were true, it's not inconsistent to judge Mcdermott more harshly because the offense is historically bad and the blowouts didn't start this year and have come more frequently.
