I thought it was trading the 2017 draft pick to KC. I’m so confused. Lol
Woah pointing out another huge mistake. Really got him.

Great guy to have at qb but we saw this year he can't beat the patriots to get to the superbowl with a much stronger cast around him than he would have had here so I don't see that he would have been any use to us.

Congratulations, Mahomes had an awesome year. Of course it has nothing to do with the Bills except that KC is in the same conference. I do look forward to a couple of Bills versus KC layoff games featuring the two best young QB's in the league.
What about the part where the Buffalo Bills traded the away the chance to draft him when they needed a QB and went with Nathan Peterman in the 5th instead?

goodness you are quite the pedant
when Derek Anderson was the QB and Peterman was the other option and Allen was hurt......
glad you have totally forgotten it and live now knowing the whole time it would get 6 wins, which really sucks, nothing to be proud of
I think you're misunderstanding my point.

the talk on this board was that this team was only a 2 win team. by the way everyone was talking preseason last year, a 6 win year was an accomplishment. no one was talking playoffs...at all. i mean, i suppose you can find one or two people who thought that, but to act like that was a board perception is just wrong and dishonest.
No one AT ALL? I specifically remember asking a few posters if they wanted to change their prediction after the Ravens game in the preseason predictions thread.
I never said it was the general board perception but there were plenty of people.
Im replying to one poster who is reminding me of the same rationalizations I saw before last season.

Not every team has the same amount of cap space, cap commitments and draft picks. The Bills have a top 10 pick and extra mid to late round selections, its not an Oakland Raiders type amount of picks but still a nice set of picks to work with and the Bills have a top 3 amount of cap space to work with. So its fair to say the Bills have a great set of tools to work with in order to construct a roster.
They may have some tools but a free agent signing can easily and quickly turn into a negative asset if you overpay and/or sign the wrong player. Colts and Jets are more desireable destinations with more cap space.
Draft picks are a crap shoot especially after the 3rd round.
This is all beofre you think about their past signings and how effective they’ve been. Especially on the offensive side of the ball. This is the same group that started peterman in a playoff hunt, started him to begin last season, didn’t cut peterman and had to have him come back in weeks later, signed Tolbert, and gave up one of those precious draft picks for Kelvin Benjamin.

That also which applies to every team in general
Every team also has draft picks and free agency. I heard all the same stuff about the Bills being a playoff team before last season.

It was quite a sucky prediction actually, meaning that in relation to what actually occurred, the prediction sucked..
Last year’s team was probably 0-16 with peterman at the helm. How would anyone predict McDermott would turn on his golden boy so quick?

Im sure there will be some ESPN numpty predicting they go 3-13 again...
3-13 was a great prediction for last year considering who was starting the season at QB

I was just thinking about this today. Yes it’s early. But the prediction includes how you think free agency and the draft will pan out. I also say 6 maybe less. Hope I’m wrong.

about what? He's hurt again.
You've been ripping on Sammy all night. He just had basically the go ahead play in the late 4th. Earlier you said "why would anyone throw to sammy or something similar.

Yup. All males. Mostly Americans. Athletically talented. But no, there are plenty of teams that aren't particularly happy with their last two drafts. Plenty of teams that haven't showed as much as these guys.
It's early. A lot to show yet, but it's a promising list.
In comparison, look at Miami, and I'm no big Miami fan but would anyone trade the Bills drafts for these guys?
2018: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Mike Gesicki, Jerome Baker, Durham Smythe, Kalen Ballade, Cornell Armstrong, Quentin Poling, Jason Sanders
2017: Charles Harris, Raekwon McMillan, Corder Tankersley, Isaac Asiata, Davon Godchaux, Vincent Taylor, Isaiah Ford
Or look at Detroit or Tampa. Those were the first three I thought of and they would trade their guys for ours in a second, IMO. I bet plenty of other teams would too in terms of quality.
. We can do this all day. I’ll list the Colts Steelers and Chiefs then you can counter with idk Green Bay or something.
My point is the op is looking at Bills players with rose colored glasses. Zay Jones shouldn’t be on that list he has negative value imo. Harrison Phillips hasn’t shown anything yet he may next year. I didn’t focus on Wyatt teller but the o line was terrible in both run and pass blocking.

Whomever this FO drafts I will have faith that they are making the right choice. I cant remember a time over the past 20 years where we had so many quality starters/prospects in 2 consecutive years of drafts/undrafted rookie prospects chosen.
White
Dawkins
Zay
Milano
Josh Allen
Tremaine Edmund's
Harrison Phillip's
Taron Johnson
Robert Foster
Wyatt Teller
Josh Allen being the most important one of them and thankfully Beane seemingly making the right choice here, just going by their track record and the great scouting staff they have (NFL teams are poaching our guys for a change), I think they are going to end up with another great draft. And if they are able to have another successful draft then that will surely set this organization up for many contested Division titles over the next decade.
Every team has a list of players like that

You always take the best player. Wouldn't you hate to pass on Warren Sapp because you needed a receiver more?
Wouldnt you hate to pass on AJ green for Marcel Dareus?
what I’m trying to say is I agree with the sentiment but how do you know who the best player is?

No, they accelerated the dead cap, there is a difference. It's like if you have credit card debt and continue paying the minimum due and keep living a somewhat decent lifestyle vs suffering for two years and paying it all off and living a real nice lifestyle long term.
Thats a terrible analogy. It’s more like giving away all the stuff you bought with the credit card, paying it off, then having to get back to the credit limit by replacing all the stuff you gave away.

No he's not, and I'm NOT defending the Bills receivers (incase you missed it I nicknamed Jones "stone hands" in my post) I'm just saying that Sammy is a whole big pile of potential that has never been realized for any continued timespan during his career. But I am curious as to what makes you feel that he is better than his numbers say he is?
ok, When he's on the field he's better than any of our receivers this season. At least if we had Sammy instead of Zay we might be able to find someone who can catch while Sammy's injured. Right now Zay its a negative in my eyes with all the drops and lack of separation. Foster proves there are players who deserve it more out there.

I don’t think anyone is defending the bills wrs. They’re just comparing how the receivers you think are absolute garbage have better production than Sammy this year.
Also, why would you hope zay gets cut? Wouldn’t you like to see him improve so the team gets better?
Because he has been bad for two years outside of a game or two and he's an embarrassment off the field. I would have cut him immediately after that video. He's just stopping us from finding another Foster.
