It was obvious a number of years ago Mahommes and the Chiefs were going to be the team to beat in the AFC for years to come.

Beane set out to mold his team as the one that could beat the big Boogeyman Mahommes through an effective pass rush.

Yes Beane has picked up some great position players along the way, but its obvious with Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham (now departed), Von (I'm back to 100%) Miller, Floyd (and others) where he placed his personnel concentration.

Now he has a home game, with all these guys relatively healthy going up against some fairly average offensive tackles.

Yes, the secondary and linebacking corps is fairly beat up...but if Beane did his due diligence,  it shouldn't make a difference if they can dominate.

We will know by midnight on Sunday.

And when Benford, possibly Bernard and a few other players aren't out there, we can still this?

I feel way better than last year.

The Bengals were always a terrible matchup for us (still are), and going into that game the Bills overall had been playing horribly for about 2 months.  Everybody in the media kept talking about us like the Damar Hamlin thing was going to be destiny for us, but I saw a team with nothing left in the tank.  Going the wrong way at the wrong time.

Although I'm still 50/50 on us winning Sunday, this team does seem to be coming together at the right time.  It's still not quite perfect.  But I like how the defense has been performing since the Eagles game.  And the offense took a nice step against the Steelers, avoiding the normal turnovers and stupid mistakes.  That weird blocked kick was the only reason we didn't totally blow them out.  The Chiefs are also very vulnerable (although you should never count out a player like Patrick Mahomes).

I also feel much differently. It's very weird because I even feel more differently than I did in 2021. I don't know if it's the homer in me but the fact that this thread was made, also tells me that other people are thinking the same

This is redemption for the 1966 AFL championship game...

This is for the City of Buffalo

    This is Josh Allen's destiny

Patrick mahomes has never tasted the 12th man... This is a challenge

We are hurting but the team is next man up... We need the vintage 12th man

We need fanndemonium and raucous energy... We are deep on the D line

And this is the last hurdle.. they are the monkey on the back... The Boogeyman

This is a special team embrace it Sunday night and it will be the start of a special season

I bought tickets to this game last night with my friend. We both took Monday off of work because we both plan to have no voice. It's gonna be rocking in that stadium. I can't wait but at the same time, I don't wanna get my hopes up.

Similarly the Marty comparison.... McDermott in 6 playoff seasons already has as many wins as Marty had in 13. The better comparison IMO is Bill Cowher. He made the playoffs his first 6 years (McD 6 of 7), was 1 and done the first two years (so was McD) but then was winning playoff games without winning the big one (I know they made and lost a Superbowl in there).

That is not me saying he is bound to win one in the end like Cowher did, and Cowher didn't have Josh Allen, I get that. But in terms of coaches who it feels can't get over the playoff hump McDermott is much more comparable to Cowher than to Marty or Marv.

I also hate the Marty Schottenheimer comparison. The guy was 5-18 in 23 playoff games. It's not even a comparison. Some people speak without thinking sometimes and don't realize how off base they are

He used injuries as his excuse last season. At some point it is what it is.

It would be 4 years of losses, 2 years with no improvement.

This is the biggest game of his career so far. It would also depend on how we lost. We’d be getting into Marvin Lewis territory.

    Don’t blow it!

For the love of God, do people like you watch football? Marvin Lewis was with the Bengals for 16 years. He went to the playoffs 7 times. He went 0-7 in the playoffs. That's right, he never won a playoff game in 7 tries. McDermott already has 5 playoff wins. He will NEVER be at Marvin Lewis level. He has already long surpassed it. That gives no excuse to lose. But just to tell people that compare him to Marvin Lewis that they have no clue what they are talking about and sound like they don't watch football

Allen with the blatant fake slide on the long run, then later draws a 15 yard penalty on a late hit on slide where the defender didn't hit his head.....but can you blame him for going for the tackle based on the fake earlier?

The slide is a play intended to protect the QB, not to do what Allen did.  That was garbage.

He didn't fake slide. He juked. Big difference

I don't, just being realistic. There's a reason why the Bills are only 2 point favorites at home and suspect that line moves in KC's direction as the week plays out.

Obviously I've been wrong before but the Chiefs looked extremely dominant against the same Dolphins team we barely beat the week before. They are 7-2 on the road this year and will have a massive chip on their shoulder heading into Buffalo to not only kill the 'never played a road playoff game' narrative and prove that their loss against the Bills last month was a fluke because of that Toney offside crap. They know they are also living rent free in the entire Bills organization heads after the last playoff meeting too.

If the Bills can jump on them similar to what happened the first time and yesterday against the Steelers I think they obviously have a shot.

You realize we only "barely beat" them because we kept turning the ball over? We drove the ball on that defense all game and Allen threw a pick, fumbled another time and then Johnson got tackled at the 1 yard line. If we finish those drives the way we should have, we would have beat them 42-14. If you think the Dolphins did things to really hinder us, you're way off. We beat ourselves. And the Chiefs got them at home in -30 weather, come on now

That throw yesterday looked perfect Steelers defender just timed his jump/swat perfectly.  Allen def missed him the well before

Yeah, if Allen hits Diggs that yesterday its a TD. If he hits him last week in Miami, it's a TD. I would argue if he sets his feet and hits him long against the Chargers, it's a TD. He gets open but him and Allen have been off for a whole. I don't know why but they can't get the timing right on deeper passes

Stating the obvious this guy has regressed in 2023. Is Bass washed?

Washed at like 26 years old. Sounds about right

He's been invisible for weeks.  Today I saw him catch a ball and drop to the ground before getting touched, without effort for YAC. Unless he is secretly injured I think it's time to really evaluate his effectiveness and effort.

He torched Ramsey last week in Miami and Allen missed him. He has been getting open but Allen can't hit him. It happened again yesterday when he threw to him deep to the end zone and the Steelers player nearly picked it. That's a TD if he catches it. Him and Allen are off but Diggs is fine. You're blind. It's ok
