  1. We'll look at Baker Mayfield... He definitely benefitted from having Taylor in that QB room! Haha I'm JK put down the flamethrowers and molotovs
  2. Idk... Would be great to have Palmer help him along. He worked with him prior to the draft.
  3. That would be pretty cool I'd tune in for that... They should bring it back
  4. I wish they would let them play a game... Just to shut them up. How stupid can you be to think any college team has a snowballs chance in hell against an NFL team? It's absurd...
  5. No team out there is as atrocious as our Bills as of today... I think Detroit looked horrible week 1 too though. I think right now we are in a spot where we have to look to the future. I think we are smack dab in the middle of a rebuild. So NEXT year... If things don't start looking good by then we'll we are screwed. This season? We are looking bad so far no doubt about it. My expectations for this team are very low... All I'm hoping for is the rookies to develop. That's what this year is about for me seeing the rookies grow. Next year I'll have some loftier expectations for them.
  6. If Allen gets hurt and is out multiple weeks it wouldn't matter at that point it'll be to late to bother bringing anyone in. At that point you may as well just let Nasty Nate stink the joint up...
  7. I really hope every team the Patriots play make a point to hit Brady every chance they get... Within the rules of course. I just want them to remind his body that it's 41? Years old and hopefully at some point this season he has a Vontae moment and just walks away haha Seriously smash the dude. https://goo.gl/images/ZwKpQd
  8. Maybe that's why the defense got better haha maybe we are giving McDermott too much credit with his play calling. It's definitely encouraging to see that. He has all the tools to be great from what I've seen so far.
  9. Knew that was coming. That classic Belichek grabbing up talent on the cheap. What do they lose of Gordon doesn't pan out? Not much... If he works out though boy that's another notch in Belicheks most amazing awesome coach of all time ever belt.
  10. The more I think about it.. it's just another decision he made in a long line of questionable decisions. The line... We trade Glenn. We lose Wood and Incognito. So there's 3 starters gone. What did Beane do to address that? I'm of the opinion that the game is won in the trenches and I get the feeling Beane thinks OL isn't a big deal. It is... We are seeing the results of that lack of OL talent every week since the pre season vs the Browns. The WR corps... Here Im thinking we have Benjamin and Jones. He gets Kerley to work the slot. We have Clay who's not too bad as a receiving TE. So I think he tried to remedy the WR with Kerley he swung and missed it bc Kerley is gone. The WRs I think have more been just a major disappointment at this point. Personally I was expecting a nice year from Benjamin bc of his contract situation. Jones I thought would be playing with a purpose due to his bad rookie season and off season antics. I haven't seen it yet. Those two have been really disappointing. Then the QB situation. He gets rid of Taylor. He gets the bottom of the FA QB pile in AJ McCarron... Then he gets rid of AJ and leaves us with Allen and Nasty Nate. Serious blunders there imo. So all these things to me... Beane needs to own this. If this team continues to give up sacks continues to be unable to put points up or move the ball. If Allen gets injured and we end up with Peterman starting again. If we give up a franchise record for sacks. If Allen's rookie year sees him ruined due to bad OL/WR play... All this stuff is on Beane. So it'll be interesting to see how it all works out. I get the process blah blah it's going to be a down year and all that. However there's no good reason the process had to be this bad imo. There where things Beane could have done to make this "process" a lot smoother.
  11. I'm with you on Taylor honestly Bean shouldn't have traded him away. Like we had our Vet on the roster to help Allen and we let him go. That's where this criticism really starts at that point where he traded Taylor... I'm not sure if we still end up with Allen but I know whatever rookie we would've ended up with would have had a humble hard working QB who clawed his way to starter and made the playoffs in the QB room with him. Also with Taylor we could have just let the rookie sit for a year with no worries. I think honestly this whole problem can trace it's origins to trading Taylor.
  12. Whoa whoa whoa let's not turn on one another... I think it's safe to say "Beane has made some questionable decisions." At this point we know this guy has given us a sub par OL. A bad receiving corps... And finally if you're not Bobby you may believe he failed at securing a Vet to mentor our shiny new QB. So back to the original post... I think Beane is going to need to be heavily scrutinzed for the moves or lack of moves he's made so far if this team is as bad as we are all expecting. Who knows maybe they start off putrid and get rolling after a few games idk. However if they are atrocious for the whole season then Beane needs to be held accountable for that. If Allen falls apart and starts wandering into bust territory that too I say is squarely on Beane.
  13. I'd rather have paid Bradford than Star but that's just me... He could have secured a better QB back in FA. Whether you would like it or not that's personal preference. Me I would have rather paid a QB for a year when I know I'm bringing in a raw talent in the draft. To me that's more important than signing a DT or wherever else the $ went during FA. That's just my preference though. As it stands I don't think the moves Bean made we're very good ones at this point seeing where the team sits while a rookie QB is cutting his teeth as a starter.
  14. If they can get someone like Moore or Cutler off the couch that's great. MajBobby made the point who's going to go through that at this point and I'm with him on that I don't really see too many options at this point in the season. However IF they can get a guy I don't see how it could do anything but benefit Allen's development.
  15. I think the kids has the potential to be great. I just feel like Beane has put him in a bad situation. Like I said we have to wait and see how it goes BUT if it goes bad then that's squarely on our GM. He set all this up. He could've secured any number of the FA QBs that we were all on here talking about back in the off season... He settled for AJ McCarron. Then he proceeded to trade McCarron and leave us with Nasty Nate and Allen... I just think it was a string of bad moves at this point. I'm not saying it can't work. However if it doesn't work I'll remember who set it all up.
  16. That's what I mean there isn't anyone. This is a situation Beane created. As of today there's Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez, Matt Moore... That's about it. I doubt any of them would jump on at this point. This is something Beane should have taken care of back in the off season. Further if AJ McCarron was supposed to be the vet then his judgement is questionable in trading him away because he left the QB room with Allen and Peterman. To get back on track I was saying this is something we all need to keep in mind if Allen doesn't develop as the season goes on.
  17. I get it that it's not necessary. However it's still a tool that can be utilized to help assure that Allen is developing. If this guy is our savior why aren't we doing anything we can to help ensure his success? It's not going to break the bank and I don't see how it could be a bad thing to have a veteran QB on the sideline and in the film room with the guy. It helps to have another brain to bounce ideas off of imo.
  18. C'mon dude the guy has been a Quarterbacks coach once... Back in 1985-1988 for Southwestern Louisiana. Do you honestly believe he has the knowledge and habits required to groom a starting rookie QB in 2018? I don't... I wouldn't count on him. Wide receiver sure not QB. That's not this guy's forte.
  19. Right if I'm Bean and I'm making all these moves knowing my intent is to move up and get a rookie QB to hitch my GM rep to... I'm going to move mountains to do anything I can within my power to set that rookie up for success. Idk maybe AJ McCarron was supposed to be that guy... But he's gone now. So if I'm Bean I'm going dumpster diving to find someone who can just mentor this guy in the QB room. I'm not sure who is out there in the FA scrapyard but I'm sure there's someone who could benefit Allen development.
  20. Once we lost Wood and Incognito was like... Oh boy. I was honestly hoping they would get a OL high and just let one of those top rated QBs come to them. We seriously need some talent infusion on the line. Right now I'm just hoping that as Allen learns to read defenses and set his protection and the linemen get more games in together that it will improve... That's what I'm hoping for at least. Sometimes hope is the first step on the long road to despair haha
  21. Right so we have these other issues too... The O line not very good. The WRs not very good. Then the kid doesn't even have someone with some veteran knowledge to help him learn the job... Once again imo not very good. So I'm watching this play out and IF it all goes bad. I think it's safe to say this falls squarely on our GM. He put this roster together this way... He went through it and made sure it was deemed his creation from day 1. I think we all need to keep that in mind when we are watching our rookie QB week to week trying to see if the kid is getting any better. Beane could've done more to put Allen in a better position to succeed. As of right now it kinda looks like he has set him up for failure...
  22. I get that say someone like Flacco isn't going to be overjoyed to help coach up a Lamar Jackson... What about a Josh McCown? Some dude who's washed up and knows it but still wants a paycheck. That can sit in there with Allen and help point out stuff in the film that he needs to see and learn. Right now who is doing that for him? Peterman? With his bounty of NFL QB knowledge and habits? I seriously feel like Bean has left this kid at a disadvantage.
  23. I read an article uhhh let me put the link https://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/09/17/buffalo-bills-josh-allen-brandon-beane/ Ok so I think us Bills fans really need to pay attention to how this plays out. This article makes a valid point imo. Beane may have severely handicapped Josh Allen this season by not having some sort of vet on the roster to help mentor and guide him. I mentioned in the gameday thread that I thought Allen did ok but he needs work and reps diagnosing defenses, where pressure is coming, setting up his protection. So I'm wondering how important having a wily vet in the QB room may be to his ability to learn that stuff... Who is in the room helping him watch film? I feel like Beane needs to pull some sort of veteran into the building to help this guy learn to be a pro. As it stands I don't see who there is on the Bills staff or roster that can help this guy learn the job quicker. So I think we need to be mindful of that. The fact that Beane put us in this particular position. I'm not going to call for his head or anything just yet but I think we need to be aware of it. If it goes wrong... That's a pretty big blunder imo.
  24. I think Davis seriously couldn't handle the fact that his body wasn't up to playing high Calibre football anymore... Idk but I'm sure there are those of you who have really excelled at something and then one day you just aren't as good as you used to be. I've been there where I was the hot **** at something and lost a step... It's tough mentally especially when you see younger dudes outperforming you. You're thinking to yourself man that used to be me doing this and that... And no matter how bad you want it mentally your body just can't do it anymore. It becomes physically impossible. That's a tough pill to swallow once you realize that for yourself.... I think that's what happened to Davis. I think he was just like man I'm not me anymore and I don't want to play as this version of me. So he threw his cleats up on the line... He should've waited till after the game at the least. I don't hold it against him for realizing he isn't the same player he used to be or wanting to save what integrity his body has left but he definitely could've just finished the game.. that part I just can't wrap my head around. His mind had to have been really wrecked to quit at the half like that.
  25. If I'm McDermott and I'm looking to do what's best for the team... I let Frazier go. His first game was horrid. This game he takes the reins in the 2nd half and it's a totally different defense out there production wise... So coach you talk the talk but do you walk the walk? I always hear them saying we will do what's best for the team. Seems to me at this juncture the best thing for the team would be for him to take over the defensive playcalling and let Frazier go. Or demote him to some sort of assistant role.
