  1. After going through the 81 replies, the only people who make any sense are Simpleman, So Tier, Reddogblitz and AllenWillBust. The rest of you guys are all dreamers. The NFL is a now league. Almost half the rosters are overturned yearly, and the two guys running the show have proved inept so far. By the way, I started the thread Season of Need trying to explain what we need and why this season and administration looks like a bust, and some Global Moderator named Chandler81 did not like it, so he closed it down. I thought this board was for opinions, not for some moron who didn't have the ability to disagree, to just lock it and close it. What a clown. You don't like a negative opinion Chandler, stop living in the past, it is 2018 and Chandler is not coming back on the field. People like you are why people want to leave this board.
  2. You are right, Watkins on the Chiefs and the home opener against the Chargers. My bad. So far though no complaints about the other facts as written. So see you all at the SB. You all must agree.
  3. So let me understand this. We are going in to the season with two unproven rookie QBs (basically), two O Linemen gone who had some ability, and really not replaced, the same two starting WRs who could not cut it last year for different reasons, and basically the same DL that couldn't stop the run last year, and last but not least, a punter who didn't or couldn't punt in the pre saeson Maybe that is why there are many tickets available for the first home home against the Rams. The Rams by the way, gave Watkins a new $48M contract, Goodwin is the new favorite WR of Jimmy G in Frisco and Woods I lost track of. Tyrod is starting off the season as QB 1, while QBs the Bills loved and signed like EJ and Jones are probably gone from the NFL for good, and another QB signee goes to the bench in Oakland. Does management understand that you can't win in the NFL, if you can't protect the QB and RB, you just can't. Why was our best player, Shady given all that money, because we can't win with him, as among other problems the OL can't clear the way for him to make consistant big positive yards. How many negative running plays for this year? No one should have to sound this negative going into the season, so maybe we will win the Division this year and head to the SB.
  4. This was stupid. The coaches and players are professionals who get paid. Why would they not try and win? We are living in todays' world. Who cares about next year at this point, but don't worry because with this OL there will not be many wins with whoever is sacrificed at QB this year.
  5. A lot of smart people have said a lot of smart things on this subject and most are correct, but the bottom line is the OL is broken and can't or won't be fixed this year, but stop talking about next year. The NFL is a now league. We may run out of QBs before the season is half over. This line couldn't protect my mother.
  6. The national media hates bad teams, which does make a lot of sense. Have we deserved to be on Sunday night football?
  7. It was alarming all the passes over the middle that we could not handle. As far as over reactions, we got abused in the 1st 1/2 by a so so team with a so so QB, so whatever is going to happen this year, all we can do is cry about the talent, coaching, injuries, and refs and we can't change things. Just enjoy our lives and NFL football the next few months. Again, we can't change things on this board, so if you can't handle the dissapointment of the Bills season, than go watch opera or some porn and maybe those results will make you happy. There is a reason that people that know more than we do, like the writer who works for SI predicts a 4-12 year. If it turns out better than that, great, but don 't expect miracles.
  8. 1. Forget the 2nd half, who else to blame for this mess once the real football has started, but our GM and Coach. 2. Penalties galore, undisciplined. 3. A punter with no leg, I have been screaming about for years. 4. Our 2 top receivers who have a hard time catching the ball. 5. I don't think any one on our OL could be a starter in the NFL. I lost count of the sacks. 6. A D that made Andy Dalton look like a Hall of Famer. 7. If you bought the hype, or the tickets, Allen is not ready, at least not with the rest of this Offense. 8. Peterman HAS to be the man now, but will he have a (healthy) backup. 9. Stars of the game for the Bills--McCarron, McCoy, and Williams who did not have to play.
  9. The Jacksonville game would have probably had a different ending had not our WR pushed off in the end zone on lst down, and by the way I read someplace today that his knee is now bothering him again.
  10. The Supremes recently changed the law. Pretty soon most of the states that have lotteries, will have legal wagering, whether online, mobile, apps or whatever way they came dream up to separate you from your money.
  11. This is just one persons opinion. (Matt Youmans, co-host of VSIN's The Edge-VSIN.com and SiriusXM 204) Bills- This one is obvious. The Bills' expected regression from 9-7 is reflected in the betting market, where their win total has been adjusted to 6. Buffalo finshed with a minus-57 point differential and was a fortunate playoff participant last year. Tyrod Taylor, the quarterback who saved the season, scrambled off to Cleveland. At some point in September or October, the Bills will probably start rookie Josh Allen, who has intriguing arm strength, but is not ready to win many games in the NFL. Browns-From 0-16, there's nowhere to go but up. A inside look at the Browns, via HBO's "Hard Knocks", shows the team's coordinators - Todd Haley and Gregg Williams - are far more competent than head coach Hue Jackson. Cleveland still has plenty of problems, but its win total is six, and Salmons (Westgate SB manager Ed Salmons) has a bold prediction: "Cleveland is going to bounce the other way," Salmons said. "The mistakes that killed this team last year are not going to happen with Tyrod Taylor. He knows how to play the game and he can run. I like Haley. Anything to get Hue Jackson away from the offense is a good thing. The offensive line looks pretty good, and I really like their defense. I think the Browns will end up winning eight or nine games". Don't kill me guys, I'm just the messenger to what I saw today in print.
  12. FYI Taylor was set up to fail. B & Mc got rid of the talent - Watkins, Woods and Goodwin. In mid year when they saw they misjudged TT and the rest of the team and the playoffs were a possibility they went and got Benjamin from their buddies in Carolina. Problem was, he was damaged goods. From the looks of the surgery last night he is good to go now. let's hope it lasts. I just hope Benjamin is not remembered here for the push off in the end zone against Jacksonville As for TT, he will either stay the same or improve that winless team. Maybe he has some better teachers in Cleveland. Ryan and McDermott are Defensive Coaches who became Head Coaches. They are not Offensive gurus. Everyone should have a answer after 16 games that count.
  13. What should have been over a while ago, has reared its head with another thread involving Tyrod Taylor. TT No. 1 on the Cleveland Browns depth chart over its #1 draft choice, last night was 5 of 5, 99 yards, 1 TD, and don't you just know it, the Bills face Taylor next up. You couldn't make this up. As much as the majority wanted to run Taylor out of town, and did, the opposite is true now in Cleveland. Let the mind games begin with next week's performance, and hopefully we will not have to put up with it, the rest of the year.
  14. Nothing else to headline Nathan Peterman's performance last night. He not only looked like a NFL QB last night, he was a NFL QB. Kudos to all those who have been banging the drum for him, including Coach Mc.
  15. I know the truth hurts, but some people just can't handle it.
  16. Two paragraphs from a story by AP Sports Writer Tom Withers. But beyond Coleman's problems on the field, he had issues outside the lines that hurt his standing with Coach Hue Jackson and new General Manager John Dorsey. Coleman was named in a police report regarding an alleged felonious assault last year. He was also sent home from the Browns trip to Houston for missing curfew while he was injured. We are changing the culture. With Zay Jones and Coleman on the field as WRs (insert your own joke here)
  17. Do you really think the Pats would want someone who was not good enough for a 0-16 team. What is in your coffee this morning?
  18. Salary Cap or no Salary Cap, this is not a destination for free agents. 1. Most top players in the draft come from warm weather states-Florida, Alabama, Texas, California etc., not Conn. Rhode Island, North Dakota Montana, etc. and playing in good weather they do not want to go on the field with snow cleats, mittens, and thermal underwear. 2.Most guys want to play for a chance at the Super Bowl. This team is nowhere near it now or the future without new management. Football people with proven track record. 3. When they get off the field these young guys (under 35) want to fun as they have money to spend. Do they want to spend their time in the warm whether at Disney World or sitting in a bar on Allen Street getting abused by fans. 4. New York State has the highest tax rate in the country. The practically the only free agents you will get here can't go anywhere else or are wished up or half crippled, and why were we in cap hell. Since Bill Polian left, who has been running things. Enjoy the football, and I hope I am wrong but don't expect much, the next few years.
  19. When I said the difference again between the Pats and Bills I should have added the word organization, but I thought that was implied and the word was not needed. Was it really necessary to point out Tom Brady vs our QBs. The mistakes this organization has made for years and continues to make never stops and it starts at the head down. Our owners wife I'm sure is a very smart and sweet woman, but no one can tell me she has no influence on what happens with the Bills. We have a GM and Coach who could not get these positions in there NFL careers. The Coach like the previous one is a Defensive minded Coach and he has done a good job on that side of the ball, but coming on last year and sending away Watkins, Woods and Goodwin who ALL had better years than anyone we have at WR is why we are in our situation at WR now. And don't talk about next year. We are going to be playing for 2018, not 2019 hopefully. Just remember, you don't quit on talent, like the BIlls did.
  20. The point is ts not whether Decker is any good now, but the Pats have tried, just like they tried with Hogan and Gilleslee recently. He did have talent at one time.
  21. Kelvin Benjamin was damaged goods from Carolina, and let us hope that he can still go after recent surgery. Kerley has been there, done that and Zay Jones---please. Kelvin Benjamin may always be remembered in Buffalo for the push off in the End Zone against Jacksonville.
  22. The Pats are looking for WRs, so brought in veteran WR Eric Decker for a workout yesterday. You would think that the Bills who did not even attempt to address perhaps the worst WR core in the league during the off season, would have tried this. The situation with the OL, with Wood & Incognito gone, and same old, same old Mills and Miller who are nowhere near the top of the league, helps one understand why the Bills are picked where they are for this year. Hard for any QB to have success when teams know the top talent to stop is McCoy.
  23. I think we all know that betting on sports, betting on casino games is rough. It is why we call it gambling. Think about it. If $10 million is bet at Saratoga on Wednesday, approx $2 million will be lost to the house(track) and governments(state, county, city) That is $8 million returned to the public in winning bets. Las Vegas would not exist if SOME people didn't win. The problem is most players beat themselves. If you are not psycologically equipped to lose money that you need, then stop. To me betting on pro football gives you a chance, with a bankroll, luck, research and thus knowing what you are doing. Not knowing any college coaches or athletes, I would not touch college sports with a 10 foot pole. There are two NFL basic facts to know. Favorites at 7 points or more win 70% of the time, and favorites 10 points or better win 80% of the time. Factor in injuries, home bias, style of play, etc. can increase those percentages, and ways of betting whether it be spreads, totals, money lines, parlays, ot teasers can also increase the %. If you bet against the Cleveland Browns in 2017 on the money line 16 times., you know how you would have made out. There is a old saying-you get beat a football game, but you can't beat (all) football games. Do we have enough discipline to bet one game a week or maybe one or two a month. I don't think so. We crave action, thus beating our selves, and we bet with our hearts, not our heads. Pats vs. Bills. We love the Bills, but against the Pats?
  24. JMF I don"t know why you are bringing up McGowan, Darnold and Bridgewater. If you are a Jets fan, you are on the wrong site, and for your information, the Post can be bought in Buffalo, or by mail subscription a lot cheaper than the News, and its writers stack up against any Sports section in the country. I read it as I am a big Yankees fan. They did not play yesterday, but there were 5 long/thorough stories on them, much more than you can find online, by beat reporters that follow the team basically year around. By the way your, Jet QBs are nothing to talk about either, although the Bills OL and WRs will hold back whoever the Bills QB is, but irregardless, we better hope it is not Peterman. That is my opinion, and if you want another opinion, go read the News..
