  1. Look, I won't argue on who was better, but those 90's teams were veteran teams... This is a young team with a few rookie playing key roles already. Their play is sometimes good sometimes bad... but the hope is that by taking their lumps now, it will pay dividends in the future. I see no reason not to throw Youboty in there, unless of course, he is having issues grasping the scheme -- and if that's the case, that is defintiely a bit worrisome given that he has had 10 weeks to do so.
  2. Key difference: That 1991 team was a Super Bowl contending team.
  3. A YEAR???? Give me a break. It's not concerning that he missed training camp. It's concerning that he still can't get any PT 10 weeks after returning. Third round picks are supposed to contribute -- whether it's in a backup role or special teams.
  4. Thomas' play has been pretty poor and has made life on the rookie safeties even more difficult. Begs the question why Youboty isn't ready yet.
  5. This is the draft pick that was universally lauded as a steal for the Bills - a potential first round talent who was supposed to mitigate the departure of Clements in the likely scenario that he is not extended by the Bills... but he has yet to see the field let alone be activated for a game. He has had plenty of time to make up for missed time, especially the bye week so I don't think that's a valid consideration at this point. With McGee's recent struggles, coupled by the uninspiring play of Kiwaukee Thomas, you would think it would be worth seeing what this kid has. or not
  6. but.. but... but it's not McGahee's fault! (had to throw in the usual but.. but.. but argument)
  7. No doubt about it -- when he was injured and when he was battling Travis Henry for the job, Willis was tough as nails. Something has changed since then however, which has me concerned -- especially with his contract set to expire next year.
  8. Check this out from Chris Brown's blog at buffalobills.com -- this guy is a softy. If Marv were a smart GM, he would trade him ASAP while his value is still high. WILLIS: We won't know more on Willis until tomorrow afternoon probably, but it's a rib injury. No word on whether there are cracked ribs or broken ribs, but Willis was outside the locker room in street clothes and didn't appear to be too upset about being injured. I'd think if his ribs were broken or something he wouldn't be hanging out after the game. But like I said we'll find out more tomorrow hopefully.
  9. That is a stupid argument. How can anyone make an IRREFUTABLE argument when Willis never actually played in that game??? That doesn't mean that you cannot make an educated guess, based on 2 years of watching him play. In my opinion: Willis would not have scored on that second TD that ATrain TD. The same hole would have been there, but Willis would have done his patented "shuffle dance" and would have been tackled for a 3 yard gain. We have seen it all too often all year. But of course the offensive line played better for ATrain, right? PLEASE...
  10. Wasn't it refreshing to see a RB who actually "runs" and doesn't dance?
  11. Your argument is hogwash. Does Peyton make his supporting cast better? Certainly. It's one thing to make first round talents better. That's what Manning did. Edge (1st round #4 overall) Harrison (1st round #17 overall) Wayne (1st round #29 overall) Dallas Clark (1st round #23 overall) The Colts spend PREMIUM picks on offensive skill positions, making it MUCH EASIER for Peyton Manning to play at a high level. Not to mention, Manning has played with mostly the same cast year afer year, making it easier to build a rapport. The Pats send their receivers packing year after year and despite significant personnel changes around him, Brady continues to excel. The debate should end right there. Manning will never be the QB that Brady is. Simmons made some great points on this topic (and was hilarious too btw) http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/061103
  12. Are you kidding me? Manning is in an offense surrounded by all-pros and has had the same offensive coordinator throughout his career. Brady has a bunch of scrubs at WR and a revolving door on both sides of the ball. The Pats success starts and ends with Brady.
  13. And Josh Reed!!!! Next up: Roscoe Parrish!
  14. TO is a headcase, that's for sure... but I think Dallas is doing a great job of keeping him in check. You think TO is the only player who falls asleep in meetings? I'd tend to doubt it. I'd be there are players on EVERY team that consistently fall asleep during meetings but the only reason this gets press is because "TO Eats Dinner" is now worthy of front page news.
  15. Yeah it's a good thing we have Josh Reed and Peerless Price and are paying them a combined $5M a season for not being able to get open.
  16. I want Asante Samuel. Sign him!!!!!
  17. ... or Larry Johnson, who wasn't injured.
  18. You lost all credibility with that post, buddy.
  19. Right on. And Willis does not have break-away speed anymore after that devastating injury. Let's bust that myth right now.
  20. I don't care how badly JP plays. He has to take every single snap of every single game this season. Hopefully, at some point the light will go on.
  21. Agreed. Tiki is being a crybaby about this (my previous post was deleted because it said bit*h)
  22. Also keep in mind that when Travis was healthy, the Titans were giving most of the carries to the ever-so-fragile Chris Brown and would give Travis maybe 5-10 carries a game. We all know that Travis is the type of runner that needs to get into a rhythm in order to be productive... finally, when given the chance, he is producing.
  23. Bill just admit it -- you were wrong. When healthy, Travis is a very good runner and he is nowhere near as bad as you seemed to think back when he was wearing a Bills uniform. Perhaps (as you pointed out) he's not the brightest guy... perhaps he's not the best blocker (as you also pointed out)... but the guy runs hard and has a lot of heart -- something that our current running back does "most" of the time. In any case, if I remember correctly, you were so confident in your claims that you felt that he would be out of the league in a few years and not amount to anything significant. Eat the crow, my friend, and move on.
  24. If you actually look closer into their roster, you'd notice it's a simple numbers game. Nick Cole is a versatile lineman that serves as a backup center AND tackle, which allows them to essentially have one player cover 3 positions. Scott Young is a pure guard who can play some center as well But make no mistake -- if either tackle Runyan or Thomas gets injured, Winston Justice would be activated and starting. Any talk on this board that he is a bust is nonsense. On the Bills, Justice would be good enough to be a starter, and a good one at that. http://www.courierpostonline.com/apps/pbcs...375/1002/SPORTS
  25. Carson Palmer is one of the top 3 QBs in this league in my opinion. He can make all the throws, plays smart and has one of the best deep balls I have ever seen. Carson Palmer has not won the AFC, nor has he won the Super Bowl. By your logic, that means Carson ain't all that. I tend to disagree.
