  1. Last week my picks were: Buy: Sherfield Sell: Poyer Hold: Rapp I'm going in a couple other directions this week. BUY: Gabe Davis. For this week. Davis has a knack for feasting on weaker defenses. I see him having a nice game (4 catch 85yards 1TD area) and putting up something against the Raiders D. Sell: Rapp as a LBer. I like Rapp. He brings a lot. However this week we are going up against a team with one of the better power RBs in the NFL. This isn't the week to line him up at MLB. He'll look like a speed bump. I'd activate Kirksey and work in in against any 13 personal. HOLD: Bernard. He played 110 snaps last year on defense. He missed a chunk of time in TC and all 3 PS games. Yet, stepped right in to live bullets and....while he wasn't spectacular he didn't pee down his leg either. I can see him getting better as the season goes on.
  2. Jakobi Myers is in the concussion protocol as well. That's the injury I'm watching from Vegas. That and Chandler Jones status as the week goes on.
  3. Gabe Davis....tick tock...contract season is here. Step up or step out.
  4. Yeah, well a lot of that is going to be lost to taxes so, F that guy.
  5. He did get bull rushed back a couple times that I saw, most noticably on the same early play Spencer Brown got dog walked into Allen's lap. But that will happen to most OL playing against that Jet front 4. The important thing to me is he settled in and held his own after and showed really well. Didn't get discouraged that he was being beat early and anchored well in the run and pass as time went on.
  6. Oh FFS, here we go again
  7. Funny you say that right after I read this article. It discusses defending Mahomes but applies to Allen as well. The NFL is ever evolving. Now the style is big armed QBs and explosive fast WRs. So defenses will adjust and that that away. What's the next evolution? Teams have across the league gone to lighter, faster coverage LBers to help. I think the answer to help Allen is to have a consistent reliable ground game to take advantage, make teams defend it and take advantage where they can through the air in spots. A guy like KC has with Pacheco. Not flashy but can take advantage of a light box and deal punishment. Scheme guys open underneath and get those valuable RAC yards. "It's high risk, throwing the ball all the way down the field, maybe in double coverage or if it's 40 yards in the air," Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky said. "Rather, (you can) throw it five yards and let that guy run the rest of the way, so the run after catch has been a huge emphasis ...You see the really good teams who are scoring a lot of points. They're not necessarily always throwing it deep. They're throwing it underneath and letting the guy run the rest of the way." This quote by Trubisky illustrates in my mind why a guy like Tua is lighting up scoreboards and stat boxes, while QBs like Allen and Herbert are hit and miss. Must be nice to have a coach that can be ahead of offensive trends.
  8. I know I'm in the minority, but I'm in favor of Buffalo running more in general. Not talking being a ground and pound team by any means...but going from 80/20 pass to run ratio to 65/35ish would help limit opportunity for Allen to turn the ball over.
  9. You and me both. Hopefully, the team does too. This week will tell us a LOT about what we are in store for the rest of this year IMO.
  10. We're on to the Raiders. Time to go 1-0 this week.
  11. Matty Ice thinks it's too soon still🤣🤣
  12. Well, they chose to ring up the tabs. It's football. Anything can (and did) happen. F em.
  13. Anything is possible and many things likely contribute. While it's my opinion that it may have a slight factor in it, a big enough chunk of the offense has been in this system for years. They also had many many reps together at TC and some in the PS games to fine tune. I've seen some people attribute it to lack of preseason play time and I've seen whole discussion (without looking up the stats myself) that the COVID year where there was no preseason was one of the best starts for offense league wide. To that extent, our starting defense had just as few reps in the preseason and they looked solid for the majority of the snaps in the first game IMO.
  14. Sorry, but Poyer is not a 100% snap count guy at this stage. And Phillips/Poona/Settle all with that low snaps. Can't those reps be split between 2 instead of 3 and have the extra roster spot?
  15. Yes, but then the OP could start a "Why does McD use all his TOs on defense?" Thread.
  16. 🎶🎶🎶Call JG Wentworth.....get Johnathan Taylor NOW🎶🎶🎶
  17. Valid point. And if it turns out the statement if false that would be magnificent and Terry should pursue legal action to the fullest extent of the law. However, the flip side may be that if it's true Terry wouldn't exactly be the first person that had private opinion that differs from public persona either. As of now it's a he said/he said. Let's see where it goes before condemning or defending.
  18. Well, one person is saying something in what appears to be a sworn statement. The other over social media. I know which avenue holds more merit. Do you?
  19. If it's not his quote, of course he would denounce it. And if it is his quote the FIRST rule of business is to deny deny deny. I'm just saying it's a meaningless statement that was likely made by a PR department.
  20. I don't believe he has. He still has room to get better. The problem is he has no one on this staff that can help him do it. It may be time for an "outside voice" to come in...Josh needs to be taken out of his comfort zone and be challenged. I don't see Dorsey, Brady or even McDermott being "that guy".
  21. At least they won't owe Green Bay a 1st next year. So they got that going for them. Which is nice.
