  1. Hi 26, we were all disappointed with Nate on Sunday. You seem to have made up your mind that he is not starter material based on a half of football (albeit a very bad half). I would like to ask you a serious question - if we draft a QB early next year and his first half of football is as poor as Nate's, will you give up on him as quickly? My feeling is that people would be less likely to give up on a first round pick than a 5th rounder. Look at Goff for a perfect example. My own view is that we are right to go with Taylor while we are still in the hunt. However, if we lose are next 2 or 3 games I would give Nate another chance to see if last week was simply a one off. What do you think?
  2. Number 7 is the number of perfection, security, safety and rest. Seven contains the number three of the heavens and soul with the number four of the earth and body. The seven colors of the rainbow. There are seven days in a week. There are seven letters in the Roman numeral system. Number seven is the number of Neptune. Number seven is lucky for Cancer and Pisces. September means “the seventh month” in Latin. Nitrogen (N) has the atomic number 7. Number 7 is the international country calling code for Russia. Lotus Seven was an open top, two-seater sports car. The opposite sides of a dice always equal the number seven when added. Seven is the number of dwarfs in the fairy tale, Snow White. Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States. 1829 – 1837. Roy Sullivan (1912 –1983) was hit by lightning seven times and survived all of them. He was a U.S. park ranger in Virginia. The seventh day of the Chinese New Year is known as “All Men’s Day” or the birthday of everyone! We are doomed!!!
  3. I liked Banyard in the off season. When I heard of Jones injury I thought we would bring him back again as he knows the system. I guess they want to move in a different direction. Welcome Cadet, let's hope you find success here.
  4. RIP Kevin Cadle who passed away on 16.10.17. Kevin presented the NFL on Sky Sports from 1998 and was a massive Bills fan. He came across as a true gentleman and would always get the Bills into a conversation. He is probably the only reason the Bills have been shown live on Sky for the last 17 years. Kevin Cadle was a British-based American sports presenter and former basketball coach. Cadle was born in Buffalo, New York in 1955. After retiring from coaching in 1997, Cadle presented American football and NBA programming for Sky Sports. Wikipedia
  5. My concern would be injuries. A long term injury to one or more of Taylor, McCoy or Clay could leave us in serious difficulties. I know this argument could apply to other teams but the depth of our team (especially offence) does worry me. The other concern I have is how we will react to our next defeat. You only need to look at last year to see that when we lost after winning 4 straight, the wheels well and truly came off. Having said that, I feel this team is different, but only time will tell. Anything above 9 wins would be a fantastic season IMHO.
  6. Sunday 1pm which is 6pm Irish time. Perfect. Don't mind the Sunday 4.05 - 4.25 game either but all other times mean I have to take a day off work. My son who is 14 also watches the games with me but these are the only ones he is allowed to watch (no school days off for him).
  7. This is an interesting argument you all make. Looking at the words individually I can see how you could conclude that "shall" could mean "must". However I think you need to look at the context in which the word appears. The rule states that the National Anthem "must" be played and that players "must" be on the side lines. Why then would the legislator not continue to use the word "must" when referring to standing. In my opinion the change here from "must" to "shall" is deliberate. If I was writing the legislation and I wanted to make standing during the Anthem mandatory, I would have simply continued to use the word "must". I would imagine when writing rules every word is closely scrutinised as the author would be aware of the potential challenges somewhere down the line. I therefore would conclude that "shall" does not not carry the same weight as "must" in this context. This is of course only my opinion and I fully accept that there will be many who disagree with it.
  8. This is totally the feeling I got this weekend. Living in Ireland I am somewhat removed from the situation there but we obviously heard your President's statement before the weekend games. What followed from almost every team appears to me to have been a reaction to the President's words as opposed to support for the original ideals as started by Kaepernick. I think this has been lost somewhere along the line. The reason the protest surrounded the national anthem was because that was what the President was referencing in his speech. I don't feel for one minute that any teams were trying to dishonour the vets or the flag. From here I also get the feeling that this was a one off protest for most and that from next week things will revert to how they were. As I said, this protest felt totally different to others that had gone before. Jim Kelly has as much right to speak out as everyone else but I really feel it should have been done in house. It sounds very unprofessional to have one of your all time great players publicly criticize a current (great) player. We are trying to build a team ethos moving forward and I don't think making this public helps. If anything it has just polarised people depending on their stance. I hope as a team and a group of diverse supporters we can all move on from this and hopefully see our team challenging again in the next few years. P.S. - This was the first time in like forever that we seen the national anthem played before the game. I watch on gamepass and they normally go to commercials during the anthem. Just an observation - although it may be different for you guys in Buffalo (you might well see the anthem every week).
  9. I just got a chance to watch the Denver/Dallas game. It raised a few questions for me. Last year Dak looked amazing and there were plenty here who wondered why we did not take him instead of Jones. What Denver done really well was to a) take away the run game and b)have constant pressure on him when he was throwing. What resulted was that he struggled in a big way. Add to this the fact that he has far superior weapons to us in his offence. Now I am in no way saying that Tyrod is the answer in Buffalo. I agree with almost everyone that he is limited in a lot of areas. But I would like to see us try to address our OL in the first instance. I sometimes think my 9 year old Daughter would be able to get through the right side of the line and pressure the QB. I think what I am saying is that, at the minute, I can't see many QB's out there that would improve us given the state of the OL and the sub standard receiving corps.
  10. Shout out to the OP. This is a fantastic job. I also found it very refreshing that the OP listened to subjective argument and changed his opinion on the Clay goal line drop. Very well done OP. Mine is 10/90 Taylor/Clay (and I really like Clay). A catchable ball is never a bad throw. I agree a better/perfect throw would have made the catch easier but at the level Clay plays, that should have been a catch. You will see many more of that type of pass caught that dropped in the NFL today.
  11. Jerry Hughes gets 10+ sacks and Banyard runs for over 700 yards and 5+ TDs
  12. I get that it is on the players. The point I am trying to make is that the penalties increased throughout the Ryan era. Looking at the preseason I believe our penalty count decreased in every game. I just don't think Rex ever really addressed the issue and it hurt us in so many games. So for me Rex must accept a large chunk of responsibility for the penalties because he did not take enough action to reduce them. It will be interesting to see how we do in this area this year but I liked the fact that Sean brought experienced referees in after that first preseason game to talk with the team.
  13. I totally agree with this. And the other thing for me were the penalties. So many penalties. It seemed like every play there was a flag. It culminated in a game against NE where Rex managed to draw a 15 yarder himself. He simply could not bring any discipline to the team and I think that if he had remained things would only have gotten worse.
  14. I think that would really be a surprise. Peterman seemed to build up a good rapport with Clay on Saturday so I don't see this happening. For me Logan Thomas might be the surprise cut. After a reasonable camp he has not done much in the preseason games. Maybe we try him out at QB on Thursday as I believe he previously played that position. At this stage anything is worth a try!!!
  15. @tlfcbb I don't really care about the Vikes. I am really looking forward to seeing the following: Streater - Has been impressive in camp Yarbrough - could he be this year's diamond (like Alexander last year) Peterman - Nice to see him in game action and under a bit of pressure. Zay Jones - I have high hopes for him and hope he does well T White - Let's hope he can be a strong replacement for Gilmore Boldin - Because he will be wearing a Bills top.
