Flutie was a weak armed bum with “ small man syndrome “ on teams with great defenses and good rushing attacks.
The only Bills QB I remember who was better at chucking it into the turf short of his receivers due to lack of arm talent was old Vince Ferragamo.
Put wonder boy Dougie on the 2002 team and it’s a 4-12 season at best.

This is agenda driven selective memory. In fact, in flutie’s first year as a starter the offense was ranked higher than the defense.

I’ve never understood why the people that don’t like him are so over the top about it.

Was for sure a limited QB. He was also a gamer that won plenty of games and made plays.

    Was Aaron really that spectacular?

When they speak of QB comps today it’s

    how they compare to JA17

can they improve to become a superstar  like JA17?

Rodgers has been absolutely phenomenal the last 2 regular seasons. He 100% deserved that award each of the last 2 seasons. Let’s not forget it’s a regular season award and it went to exactly who it should have.

…. And that’s not me taking anything away from our guy. Whom I absolutely love and would pick over ANY qb going into the next decade.

I'm going to put on the tinfoil. For whatever reason, maybe unconscious bias, Steelers seem to have gotten breaks, like other "dynasty" type teams with a good reputation. If we can flip the script and become the team that gets the benefit of the doubt and has the refs looking out for our stars for the success of the league, we could win a lot with JA. If the script doesn't flip with enough of the brass, refs, and the like, we may struggle to get the one ring. You need to be good and "lucky" too. I feel that Ben's SB against the Hawks was TOTALLY a product of the bias the Steelers had at the time. Can we get there? It looks like it, because Josh is that good and the league seems to love him. If that trend continues our "luck" will only increase, and JA17 will win more than Ben.

Read an article a couple years back about the worst officiated superbowls and the refs screw job on the Seahawks came in at #1. If I’m not mistaken Ben had the LOWEST Super Bowl qb rating to ever actually still win the game. He was awful.

his 2nd title year he threw for a mere 3100 yds and 17 td in a full season… but there’s no denying how clutch he was in that title game.

The comparison for their career isn’t even close….but Josh Allen at his best is on a different level than Ben at his best imo.

Josh is in the discussion for best player in the world. Ben was never that.  Never even close tbh

I got into this discussion just the other day with a “stiller” fan. Big Ben was never, at any point in his career, regarded anywhere near the top 3. Usually the debate was efen if he was near top 5. And he definitely never finished 2nd in the MVP running.

I think it’s obvious that the Big Ben that was winning titles actually wasn’t nearly as good as the Big Ben that had nearly no playoff success from 2009 into the late 2010’s. During those title years he was riding coattails of an elite line/run game and a generational defense. when it was time to be clutch he always stepped up. But IMO it was that d that afforded him that luxury… IMO he was a much better qb in the years after those super bowls and yet he never got back.

Definitely a HOF qb but I think if Allen can even just get one ring, it won’t be much of a debate who was better.

The Patriots played in that weather too…. Not disputing the Bills were clearly the better team last season, and yes the wind played a part into the advantage of the Patriots….  But the Bills shot themselves in the foot plenty and forced themselves into playing a game they weren’t well suited for in forcing the run game when Allen clearly demonstrated he can wing it through the wind.

Cut the BS. Who wins that game if it’s normal weather? You know the answer. It’s 100% obvious that those horrific conditions favored one team waayyyyy more than the other. …. So anyhow. Moving on…

What I'm saying is there are no guarantees that we would have won the division last year if not for the Patriots peaking in late Nov/early Dec and falling off.

Obviously we hit our stride around that same time but there were a full two games ahead in the standings after the TB OT loss.

Either way in hindsight I will say that I'm confident the Bills would have beat NE in the playoffs with a similar result even if that game was held in Foxboro and we didn't win the division.

Not disputing this but again, in 2020 despite being the best team record wise under JA17/McD there was a point in the season when Miami was only trailing by one game. Obviously they faltered down the stretch and Bills pulled away.

Last year the Pats were a 2 full game up on the Bills at one point when we were 7-6 and they were 9-4, and I can find many receipts on this forum where even die hard homers thought the Pats were going to win the division at that point.

I still believe this team is the prohibitive favorite to win a 3rd straight division title this year but the road is likely going to be more perilous again especially if this team doesn't show up every week and is inconsistent like like year.

The Bills have finished off the last 2 regular seasons on 6 and 4 game win streaks. Seems to be becoming a trend. I don’t understand why you wanna discount it as if it’s been flukey. They’re a real good team by the end of the season. It’s a thing…. A good thing.

If either team wants to take the division they‘ll need to figure out how to not suck so bad early in the season and then how to peak come December…. So far they havnt.

Josh is definitely over 250. I’m guessing 255lbs

Last year, late in the the season, in an interview with McAfee he said he was sitting at 245 and the coaches liked him 3-5 lighter than that. I’d bet he comes into the season 245-250 and takes a couple off naturally in august.

A lot of these guys come into camp 5-10 up and then the grind naturally does it’s thing leaning them out a bit.

Unless this team is truly dominant this year and wins 15 or 16 games, division is going to be brutal and I would expect both the Pats and Dolphins to be within striking distance of the division similar to how things played out the last few years.

Remember the Pats were sitting in 1st place late in the season too and probably would have won the division if not for the defense falling off and Jones hitting the proverbial rookie wall. Our favorable December schedule helped too.

I’m sure those 50mph winds didn’t have anything to do with it. If if if if. Blah blah blah blah.

the bills are a wind storm away from being 12-0 in the division the last 2 seasons and here you are talking about how close it’s been. Just stop it.

If that's the case I'm good with it. I didn't read that anywhere but makes sense if it is indeed partials.

He literally said at the end of the video he’s doing partials

… The goal of the movement itself goes against any notion of speed/twitch loss.

Judging by hit squat form I'd say he has no idea what he wants. Surprised he didn't get hurt. I've been lifting for close to a decade 5 days a week.

I’d stay in your lane on that one. Just like all the Twitter bro’s should be doing in the comment section of his vid. As a fitness pro that works with numerous college athletes and multiple highschool football/wrestling programs it’s easy to see what’s being done there. In fact he flat out says at the end of the video it’s planned partials.

Different ROM’s and speeds play different parts in structural and neural adaptations. This is more neural. And judging by his comments at the end of the clip I’d bet large money he does plenty of other squat variations(barbell or otherwise) where he sees a full ROM.

Adding weight isn’t necessarily good for a wide out. Speed is everything in the nfl.

🙄🙄🙄🙄You think he went into the offseason and said… “I wanna be bigger. Even if it means I’m noticeably slower”???? …. I friggin doubt it.

  11. Bring it ALL on! I love it! Screw the whole wanting to “fly under the radar” BS. If you’re flying under the radar you havnt proven you need to be feared consistently. I much prefer the massive bullseye on the back!

I know I'll get sucked into the hype vortex like I do every year.  But I'm going to try to fight it until about Week 6-7.  That Steelers opener just shot the horse out underneath me last year.  I was REALLY pumped, and actually started giving non-Bills fans a little sh!t.  Nope.  I feel good about them, but I'm keeping my mouth shut.

As a fan of a team that seems really boring. Ride the rollercoaster. That’s sorta the point IMO.

    “Good solid seasons”

Keyshawn has been the worst ESPN personality since he’s been there.  Although, listening to him talk about hoops is usually worth a couple laughs.  His takes are that bad.

Not sure how he has a job and I expeft

him to be looking for a new network when his current contract expires.

"I dont believe that Josh Allen was the reason that they were in the position they were in"..... Can you imagine watching the divisional game with a pair of actual eyeballs and they uttering that statement?... like i said earlier. odd hill to wanna die on.

Since I began working from home (and stopped commuting an hour each morning), I no longer listen to ESPN Radio.  I always enjoyed Keyshawn Johnson, but I've also always been perplexed at how much he digs in on his anti-Josh Allen stance.

To say that the Bills don't win because of Josh Allen is nothing short of stupid.  And I don't think Keyshawn Johnson is a stupid person, so this is an obvious troll job.

I remember Golic digging in on Mahomes not being the real deal.  But that lasted like one season before he backed down.

Johnson is riding this wave way too long.

it was such an absurd statement that all i could do is laugh when he said it.... he's picked an odd hill to die on when it comes to allen. its running on over 2 years now.

EDIT: found it. at the 8 minute mark.... As if Mahomes, Rodgers, and Brady havnt been in nearly perfect situations over the last 2 years. What the h*ll are we doing here, Keyshawn?

welp.... Hell hath frozen over. Even the most punchable face on TV claims Allen is the only qb that has a real argument against mahomes for top dog.

Must have gotten bored of trolling the mafia. looks like he's getting ready to go to war with the cheeseheads this year.

..... looks like Keyshawn is now the biggest Allen troll in the media now. He was squawking the other day about how out of the top 5 ranked qb's that espn just put out, allens team is the only one that doesnt win because of him. Claimed he was just inserted into a good spot 🙄

That ain't squatting, it's more like half-squatting. As he notes.

    Still pretty damn impressive.

    I'm hopeful for him, myself.

It’s a movement directed more at the neural adaptions as opposed to structural adaptations. As you said, he acknowledges what’s going on so I can basically guarantee he also incorporates plenty different deeper movements into his programming. Whether it’s a bar on his back or other variations.

My thoughts on all the comments that follow on Twitter?…. Stay in your lane, boys and girls.

Dude is grindin. Love it. Thats nice clean work for a long limbed 210lb athlete. So excited to watch his come up this year.

Sidenote: As a fitness professional that happens to be the head strength and conditioning coach for a high profile  local high school football program, as well as working with multiple college athletes, i find the internet Bro's in his comments amusing. The dude specifically explains what he's doing at the end of the clip and the twitter bro's still cant help themselves.

I can 100% buy that. My youngest son was born on 9/10 and we came home that Sunday. I swear to god the only reason I didn't get upset was lack of sleep and general happiness to have our new guy. Otherwise yea incredible buzz kill with some truly awful play calls on offense and bad coaching decisions in general. I will say going into the game wayyyyy too many Bills fans thought we would cake walk to like a 30-13 win and I kept cautioning PIT was a better team then that just because of their D.

we actually got "lucky" our baby girl came 2 weeks early so we were able to leave her with my mom to go attend. her actual due date was just 3 days before the opener.... and we had reason to be confident. it was an aging team with a crap line that totally imploded down the stretch of 2020. Also i would argue the steelers were a legit bad squad last year. They were basically the football team version of weekend at bernies. Somehow stumbling their way to mediocre.  neither their offense or defense finished higher than 24th last year overall. We should have boat raced them.

  18. Personally, one of the worst for me was last years opener. A superbowl contending team that we hadnt gotten to see in person for 2 seasons and they laid a complete clunker. And it was personal for me living in Erie, Pa.  Right on the outskirts of "stiller" country. IMO the most self righteous fan base in all of the NFL.
