Fans can see it pretty clearly. Our offensive design stinks and if not for Allen our offense would be in the basement. He’s expected to do everything.

I watched Vikings-Pats last week and the Vikings offense looked way better and in-sync with worse personnel than ours. Kirk would take a three step drop, go through his progression and hit a short to intermediate route with YAC. You could tell he had to think like half as hard as Allen has to on any given play.

i wont debate our design sucks but the vikings having worse personnel than ours? seriously? Jefferson, Theilen, Hock is about as talented and reliable trio you can ask for.

In the second half after Benford got injured....Cam Lewis and Ja'Marcus Ingram were our starting CB's.

Not to mention Hamlin and Johnson were our starting Safety's.

This secondary went up against one of the best WR tandem in the league.

Defense played admirably that day. i think maybe that early in the season, frazier and mcdermott still had a scheming upperhand. But now The warts are on plenty of tape for everyone to see and we havnt had the talent out there to cover it up.

We have 3 players on our secondary that have either made All Pro or 2nd Team All Pro.  All of them have missed significant time.

Poyer is the only one that has really played this year and he's missed 4 games himself.  That's 75% of one unit, your strongest unit depleted.

Would the Legion of Boom be great if Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas missed most of the year?

ya man. i'm with you. these arent just role players going down. Its been players directly responsible for the winning thats been done the last 3 years. We're talking about MULTIPLE all pro players. its huge, man.

Injuries are an excuse like it was for Baltimore last year.  Saying injuries aren't an excuse is basically saying the back ups are equally as effective as the starters.

A regular rate of injuries to starters, if you're a good team, shouldn't faze you too much.  But when you have this:

    - Von Miller (Indefinitely)

    - Jordan Poyer (4 games)

    - Micah Hyde (15 games)

    - Tre White (10 games)

    - Kair Elam (2 games)

    - Christian Benford (3 games + additional 4 games for IR)

    - Jordan Phillips (3 games)

    - Tim Settle (2 games)

    - Ed Oliver (4 games)

    - Greg Rosseau  (3 games)

    - Tremaine Edmunds (3 games)

    - Matt Milano (1 game)

Everyone of these players except Milano missed multiple games or will miss multiple games.  That's 4 All Pro's on defense that we have missed multiple games at the same time.  That's many key contributing starters who aren't All Pro's.

Not only that, but the back ups have gotten hurt and we've had to use 3rd and 4th stringers.

We have had every single starter injured except Taron Johnson and DaQuan.  That's unreal.

If the Cowboys were missing Parsons, Diggs, Lawrence, Kearse, Vander Esch, Anthony Brown and Armstrong all around the same time and for multiple games...would they be as good?

Thank you.... the troubling thing is, you had to waste your time typing this all out because people are having a really hard time grasping the difference between cumulative injuries vs quality of players injured.

Lumping him in with 32 other teams receivers when Gabe Davis has, at worst, the second best QB in the NFL throwing to him..........in a pass crazy offense...........that's where your argument ceases to illustrate perspective.

The Bills passing offense is Diggs and Davis and little else.........and he simply hasn't seized the opportunity.    The bulk stats give the impression that he's been very good but those numbers should be GREAT given the opportunity he's been given.   50% completion and nearly 20% outright drops aren't even mediocre numbers........they are terrible and threatening for the worst in the league for a receiver who is receiving any volume of targets.

It's not his fault that too much was expected of him after he had so clearly proven to be inconsistent in his two prior seasons as well..........but they have what they have and really need him to step up his game despite having to face decent CB's now.    Teams that win SB's have more reliable WR2's than that.    It's a commonality.  That doesn't mean they can't defy that with a ham-handed WR2..........no rookie OC has won a SB since the 1980's either and that doesn't mean Dorsey can't.   But it's a handicap, nonetheless.

the efficiency is an issue, sure.... but honestly run down through the teams in your head and toss out the names you'd take over him. I'm curious how long the list is. i already gave mine upstream

I like AIyuk a lot.  He honestly is a lot like Gabe.

Usually a good #2 is a good blocker, either a deep threat or a big body.  They aren't the best route runners (if they were, they'd probably be a #1).

Exactly. It seems what everyone is really saying in here is that they expect us to have two #1's.... well get in line then. theres about 31 nfl teams, other than miami, that would like to sign up for that.

My main point is look at the landscape of the league and the other #2 options. Ours would be towards the top of most lists.

  7. I seriously wanna know where all these mythical amazing #2 wr's are. If feels like people just think they're all over the NFL. I'm bored so i went down through the divisions in my head and named out the 2's i would definitively take over davis.

    Waddle

    Higgins

    Mike Williams

    Devonta Smith

    Godwin

    Lockett

I'd debate Thielen(he's really fallen off but reliable), Aiyuk, and Marquise brown..... but i'm confused about what people requirements are for a #2(non-slot) wr.... seems like were just assuming most teams are having teammates each go for over 1000.... Take a look across the league. i would contend he's a top #2 option(with consistency issues)

  8. there are 64 starting wr's in the nfl. Davis has missed a game and is still right in the top 20 for yards. The bills have 2 players on pace for over 1000 this year. there are 2 other teams that can say that(mia/kc). Davis has his flaws and consistency issues but i'm seriously wondering if any of understand who most other teams are trotting out as their #2. its not like 80% of the teams in the league are tossing it around to multiple 1000 wr's.

His yardage stats are very misleading, because he's been totally boom or bust.

For every big play he makes, he's also dropping a catchable ball.  He had another one on Sunday that killed a promising drive (settled for a field goal), and almost blew an onside kick.

As someone else mentioned, he dropped what should have been a touchdown against Miami (we lost by two points).  He dropped a bomb on the final play against the Jets (would have put us in field goal range in a game we lost by three points).  And if the refs called for a booth review, they would have taken away his sideline catch against the Vikings (on the drive that sent us to overtime).

All of the criticism directed his way has been totally justified.

drops are 100% an issue. and in critical spots..... but i'm just curious as to how many #2's out there people think are honestly that much better.

I get it sucks to lose but it was a good fun game to watch.

I know we want to win it all but sometimes we just need to enjoy good football. Minus the fumbled snap, it was good football.

The bills directly lost this game due to bad football so IMO you literally couldnt be further from the truth here.

Yet they are 12th in points allowed.  And the Bills Offense has averaged only  22.5 their last 3 games.

they also needed a last second FG to beat andy frickin dalton, beat bridgewater by a score, needed to comeback from 10 down in the 4th on the vaunted hieneke led offense last week after heineke completely melted down.... they've faced ONE squad with a winning record that actually fielded their starting qb(eagles) and they got their teeth kicked in. The game is plenty winnable with keenum. literally every other game the vikings have stumbled through as shown that.

.... oh then theres barely scrapping by the bears earlier in the season while fields still looked like a steaming pile of donkey sh**

this vikings squad reminds me of the 2020 stillers that had the luxury of playing 5 or 6 backups on their way to being 11-0 and then completely folded down the stretch when the 4 leaf clovers ran out.

    The immediate fallout and impact:

    - Bills fall to 3rd place in the AFCE, Dolphins regain division lead (this of course assumes the obvious that they beat a bad Browns team at home)

    - Bills fall to all the way to 6th or 7th spot in conference if Chargers win

    - KC assumes sole possession of #1 seed (also assuming obvious outcome of facing a bad Jaguars team at home).

We'll find out a lot about this team with our without JA17, but if it's the latter I feel it will probably be a somewhat easy win for the Vikings since they will stack the box and force Keenan to beat them.

Just goes to show that nothing is guaranteed and it's probably a good thing all the superbowl noise has come to an abrupt halt.

The vikings have had the luxury of playing 3 other backup qb's this year and nothing about their wins have been easy...

.... this thread is much more your speed though. i knew your true nature would come back to us eventually.

The Vikings are nowhere near as good as their record. They barely beat Miami who were starting Skylar Thompson!

Even with Jefferson, Thielen and Cook, the Vikings have scored less points than ANY team in the AFC East.

I think the Bills are gonna come together and expose them, either with Josh or for Josh.

need a last second FG to beat andy dalton, beat heineke by a FG after being in a 17-7 hole to start the 4th, Barely beat a bears team that was playing like complete dog crap at the start of the season... they're literally stumble f***ing their way to all these wins against subpar teams and backup qb's.

they've played ONE team with a winning record that actually had their starting qb playing(Philly), and they got their teeth kicked in. I'm not saying we definitely win with Keenum or anything, but this is a very winnable game. Even with our backup qb.

Sorry, I'm not usually negative Nancy, but if keenum starts, I expect the bills to lose by 14. I watched enough of keenum with a fairly talented Browns team to know he's not that good. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm not even gonna get pumped up for this game if keenum starts. Not sure what others have seen from him that makes them think he can be good. He had one good season in Minnesota 5 years ago

the vikings needed a last second FG to beat Andy FREAKING dalton, they beat a bridewater led fins team by one score, and then had to come back from 17-7 last week in the 4th to yet another backup qb in washington. not to mention they beat the bears by just one score when fields was playing like steaming dog crap...chill man.... keenum went 2-0 last year, completing 65% of his passes for 3td and just 1 int. this game is dicey but plenty winnable with keenum under center.

    You’ve never heard of Hines?

He has been around for a while.

Actually had a pretty good game against the bills in the playoff matchup back in 2021

Right. i honestly would have thought even a very average fan of the game would be familiar with his game..... Man, everytime ive watched a colts game over the last 3 years i've constantly found myself admiring his game and saying "we NEED that dynamic"

    Pure explosiveness
