  1. I cannot wait for this season to start.  A switch flipped seeing a Game Week Thread.

Definitely in wait and see mode.. I know this team is very talented, but I need to witness it on the field to believe it.

On paper, with the roster moves and guys like Oliver/Edmunds becoming more experienced, I believe our Defense is better on paper, with a stronger pass rush.

If the Jets have Perriman and Mims available, I think they have enough to be dangerous, but I’d be unbelievably disappointed if our defense didn’t manhandle them.

On Offense, it’s just up to Josh Allen in making the jump.  Jets are always solid defensively, but lost a lot in Moseley opting out and trading away Adams.   Their secondary should not be able to hang with Diggs, Brown and Beasley.  If they sell out in keeping everything in front of them, Moss, Singletary, Beasley and Knox should feast in the running game and underneath.  If they force the issue blitzing Josh, it’s up to him to show us he’s fixed the deep ball/pocket awareness against heavy pressure.   If he has... this team is a SB contender.

The fact that this thread is at eight pages speaks to the problem itself:

Mask wearing should not be a controversial issue. Mask wearing should not be a political issue.

If, from the beginning, mask wearing had been neither a controversial nor political issue in the United States, we'd have lost thousands of less people, and we'd all be back to a version of life much closer to "normal" by now.

The fact that mask wearing IS controversial and political and has thus led to so many unnecessary deaths and the prolonging of this pandemic in our country leads me to fear that the movie "Idiocracy" has come true.

As a prominent epidemiologist said: "We have an acute affection of politics in our public health policy".

I have zero issue with wearing a mask. I wear a mask whenever I go into a place of business and/or am in a large gathering.

I do take issue with the hypocritical lecturing crowd though.  They seem to come out in force anytime one of these threads arise.

In terms of Buffalo and San Fran, if we mandate face coverings on the sidelines, given league officials and referees will be intermingling with our players, I have no issue with that.    Probably next to zero risk if we don’t mandate face coverings, but I’m not going to argue against extra caution.

Now, the “no fans in the stands” issue, we have to deal with being a NY team.. that I take issue with.

He is trying to do a job, and he has done it very well. This is a International crisis. Some people are too goddamn selfish to care, and simply prolong the pandemic.

You think Cuomo is doing this for fun????

No one wants this, but we have to pull together, as a Nation to defeat it.

    Oh cool... this again.

As a former New Yorker, all I can say is thank God I do not live in NY anymore.

Take that however you’d like.  My sentiment is shared by a whole lot of people that no longer call NY home.

Not really, the players need the networks. The networks fall all over themselves for football. The fans are such a small piece of that. It will take a MASSIVE migration away from football for the networks to change their tune. That’s not happening. The NFL is bulletproof and the players and league know that. If they do this it will have minimal impact on the bottom line.

I tend to agree, but the NBA viewership issue is real, and they have a much more progressive fan base than the NFL does.

No one should have fans right now.  It's stupid.

And believe me, it is going to be strange and disappointing (at least for me) to watch these games with empty stadiums. For me, it will detract hugely from my enjoyment of the games.

You take out the crowd, energy, passion, and you're left with watching a scrimmage tape, albeit with high intensity.

We will all be happy when things are back to normal, but that won't be before the 2021 season.

I completely disagree with you on the fans aspect, but there’s no sense in turning this into, yet another, one of those debates.

I’m glad the Bills didn’t go after him.
Similar to quarterback I think you draft defensive ends non stop until 1-2 rookies hit.
Given our team structure we’re not going to pay big time defensive end money. Murphy and Hughes have decent money but once that’s gone those millions go to another position we re sign. We’re not paying any ends 15+ million for awhile. I still think Yannick is mostly a hype machine. One really good season on a top defense and mediocre the rest of the time. I like his fit in Minnesota but I’m glad he’s not in buffalo.

From what I’ve heard from CFB guys, this is supposed to be a great draft year for DL.

I’m with you, I think we’re pretty strong on the DL this year, and next, but this offseason begins the draft process of adding more young, rookie contract talent, to Epenesa and Oliver.

I absolutely think Ngakoue is worth trading for.... but how much? I think a 2nd is about the max I’d offer... similar to what the Texans got for Clowney in their trade with Seattle... Ngakoue + Epenesa would solidify our bookend situation for the next 5-10 years.. we are in WIN now mode, I think a trade here should be explored.. I’d offer our 2nd but I wouldn’t offer more than that.... plus our 2nd will likely be at the bottom of the 2nd round so I doubt we’d be able to draft a better player than Ngakoue there... I’m all for a trade here, this team is ready to make a deep deep deep playoff push now.. do it..

The only issue I see is in regards to the new cap and Milano.

Im not for or against an Ngakoue trade.  We have our LT, CB, WR, MLB and hopefully QB of the future.. all we’re missing, as far as cornerstones go, is a young stud EDGE.

However, with the cap going down next year, we can cut Murphy and use his money to sign Ngakoue long term, along with Tre White, but I don’t think there’s enough $$ to go around for Milano.

So frustrated with WGR.  All I want is the Sal segment so I can hear about today's practice.  Finally he comes on (the segment is actually called 'What Went On At Camp Today' complete with a sponsor).  Sal starts talking about how solid Allen was.  Then Mike steers the conversation off the rails, and suddenly they're talking about the Jets signing Kallen Ballage and what his fantasy impact will be.  After 15 minutes of this, it's time for Sal to go.  Arggghhhh.....we deserve better.

And that my friends is my first post.  I figure it's a better outlet than screaming in my car.

You’re not alone.  I recently discovered that I can listen to WGR on the Radio app during this past season and I stopped listening to Schopp and the Bulldog.   They might be the worst local sports radio show I’ve ever heard.   I’ll tune back in during the season, but until then I’d rather listening to screeching birds looped over someone playing the piano with oven mits.

I'm sure you are both the "players should stick to sports" types as well.  If you don't like the discussion go to another board or start your own thread.  Unfortunately this is not about "politics" it's about social justice.  By ignoring it or wanting it neatly categorized somewhere else you are part of the problem, not the solution.

I'm 100% ok with players taking a stance and moving forward on this however they so choose, but I hope you know that running around telling everyone who slightly disagrees with you that "they are part of the problem" is completely antithetical to a social justice moment that requires allies.
