I'd actually be willing to throw a big contract at him, but in order to beat out an NFC or non-rival AFC team, we'd likely have to beat the trade compensation...by a lot. I know we have a lot of holes, but we need to close the gap between the 3 superstars (4 if they don't trade Snead) KC has to our 1... and while that's highly doubtful the route we'd take as Beane loves having depth, I'd begin to think about sacrificing that for high end players and then fill in with Day 3's and UDFA's as depth.

Gabe Davis has got to have the most elite highlight film for a WR3 of all time.

What does this mean lol? Dude just “decided”?

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
SCBills replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think I might want a gun if I lived in Pittsburgh.. -
It was supposed to be 3 years of Allen, Diggs and Von. We’re now entering Year 3 of those 3 years. KC has had 4 at all times. Mahomes, Kelce, Jones and Hill .. then after he left Snead elevated in a widely respected elite corner.

Maybe Biden can airlift some Haitians in while we all sleep. We could all stand to be culturally enriched by some witchcraft, dark occult and cannibalism.

Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe this is the case, but you have to manage the cap regardless .. no matter how much your owner spends. It’s not like we cut guys in their prime .. every player we cut makes sense, even Morse at 8.5M.. and he’s the only one I would make a case to keep. It’s not like we’re going to hold onto this money we freed up in the coming weeks… at least, I’d be shocked if we did. -
Perhaps Conan O’Brien would like to take another vacation there to spite Trump?
-
No. Which is why when people outlined Joe Marino’s off-season, it seems like a very plausible and likely prediction of what the Bills will do. Which is what we’ve been doing. Build a strong team, with good depth all over. And that’s great for the regular season. Helps you withstand injuries (to a normal extent). Allows for fresh bodies at certain position groups. But then we get to the Playoffs, and nobody but Josh Allen steps up in the big games. Kelce does. Jones does. We don’t have that surrounding Allen. So do we spend on one big time FA if one is available? Do we trade up and sacrifice picks/future picks? Or do we stay the course and hope Kincaid, maybe Bernard (?), whoever is at 28 etc can be those superstar big game difference makers?

Chris Jones signs with KC 5yr $95M guaranteed
SCBills replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Which is why I am shocked people wanted to sign him to a contract like that.. as if it was ever, at all, possible. He’s the best DT in the league, and DT’s do age well .. but Von was also at an elite level when we signed him.. looked every bit the elite player we paid for… until he got hurt. Von’s a little older, but Chris Jones is a massive body and Von may be an anomaly freak of nature. The risk here for the Chiefs is real. A risk absolutely worth taking .. and because it’s KC, I’m sure one that will have zero ramifications. -
Diggs - will he resurface as the Bills go to WR in 2024?
SCBills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know that Diggs has ever been the “take over a game” type WR1. Maybe a Steelers game a few years back? But I do think he’s still a WR1.. and a good one at that. But with just a slight dip due to age, the lack of WR2 threat opposite him has been far more of an issue. -
Joe Marino's Locked on Bills Mock Free Agency
SCBills replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I listened to it at the gym .. I think it’s well thought out and probably makes sense. For all those worried about rotation/depth, his mock off-season absolutely addresses that .. and I think, it’s a higher potential roster on paper. That said.. do we have the elite A1 talent to match Mahomes/Kelce/Jones .. Burrow/Chase/Higgins etc.. This is a complete roster, but we still go to war with Allen, whatever anyone thinks Diggs still is, and who? Does Kincaid become that? Can McConkey be that? Not saying I know the answer.. just pointing out that we always seem to be a “dude” or two behind these teams .. and when we played KC, what was the difference when it mattered? They had Kelce and Jones, we had…? -

I don’t think the AAV is out there, is it? The 95M is the guaranteed part. -
Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY

Pro-Bowl caliber LT’s don’t grow on trees. I think there would be legit compensation. If that’s what this is… Kromer must love Van Demark. -

Walking emoji with the sad face doesn’t seem very upbeat… -
I have a feeling we’ll have one, but it will cost us two picks to get there. Which is why I said this arbitrary decision by the NFL essentially took away a draft pick from us.

Your Top UFA Targets for Free Agency Monday
SCBills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
With McDermott, I think people see Chinn’s untapped potential and just assume it will be realized here. Can’t lie .. I would think this as well. Didn’t they target McGovern immediately last year? I usually agree the first wave is overpays, but it seemed the Bills targeted him from jump and locked him down to a reasonable contract pretty quickly. -
If the Bills view Shakir as their starting outside WR opposite Diggs, they deserve all the smoke they get when that shows to be a struggle. Shakir is a very promising slot receiver with some outside flex. He is NOT a primary outside WR.

Agree, especially in a draft as loaded as this one at the position. Assuming the extend Dawkins & Brown, the Offense is set for the short & long term. Adding two quality rookie WR’s to go with Kincaid in his second year could lock in this Offense around Josh Allen for a long time. People can worry about the Defense if we double dip at WR, but the Safety and DT FA market could not be set up any better for what we need this off-season. EDGE is a worry, but it’s not like anyone ever gets pressure during the Playoffs anyway. Just get some big bodies to push the pocket back and let what might be a Top 2 LB tandem in the NFL get to work.

Our cap is ok given the moves we’ve now made. Beane’s drafting in recent years will help lessen the blow. Now he just needs to nail this upcoming one. The Diggs, Von & Tre contracts are tough.. because all of them have big cap hits and none of them played as we expected them to last year: Diggs as an elite WR1, Von as an elite pass rusher and Tre as a lockdown corner. Then you add in all the money & picks constantly spent on DL and a guy like Knox, who is just a weird situation now given the Kincaid pick.. and that’s how we got here. Again, not in a bad position, but a slightly uncomfortable one with a day like Wednesday & another, likely, non-splashy FA period being necessary.

Sign: Jeremy Chinn Trade: Courtland Sutton I think it’s very likely the Bills spend what money they have on WR & S, while waiting it out on the DL musical chairs. -
Reading this is so weird.

Allen, Diggs, Von, Tre contracts + way too much being spent on above average vets/rotational DL. The Defense will look fine when they bring in another above average Safety vet or two to go with Rapp. Couldn’t ask for a better year to one… or two. We’re good at LB and CB.. just need a couple Day 3 draft picks to develop as depth. OL looks pretty good. TE is set. Can take a day 3 RB and sign a cheap vet. DL and WR need high level investment. We can likely afford one pass rusher or wide receiver. Going to need to lean on the draft heavy for whichever of those position groups we don’t spend a moderately splashy contract on.
